Lady Gaga is the best one and i don't care if the whole population hypes her up. She deserves all the recognition because she's an uplifting person and she has songs with meanings to them and a nice style to her music and her attitude. I've loved lady gaga since I was 5 and I still like her now because her taste and style in music hasn't cracked not once.

askizzo Selling more albums/songs doesn't make you *good* a wrinkle in time sold quite a bit of tickets but that movie was utter trash the only good part was that Hamilton reference and Reese. Plus, tøp isn't trying to make millions they're trying to cleverly put stuff about the Bible in their songs. I don't think they're overrated, never knew what they looked like until now hahaha I actually mistook them for *Adventure Club* at first lol. The songs I like by them are associated with good memories guess that's why I can't hate them but assholes will be assholes even talented ones.

"Something Just Like This" is a Coldplay song, mixed in with the Chainsmokers production and sound. It's a collab for sure, but the song itself, is 100% Coldplay in the lyrics and its message. Admittedly I am a Coldplay song, and wasn't so fond of this song at first, or even on a few more listens- partially because exactly as you said, it sounds extremely similar to the sounds of other Chainsmokers songs... it wasn't very distinct in its sound. However lyrically, it is 100% through and through a Coldplay song. The lyric you quoted to me, is not so much about arrogance or being cocky- I believe the song is addressing the stereotypes or fantastical expectations that people can often place on romance and romantic partners- To me what is likeable about this song lyrically- is releasing the expectation or demand that someone come in and be your savior (Like Superman), or be this perfected and very intensified superhuman version of themselves. I see this song as taking a hit at the whole "Prince charming comes and rescues the princess" trope, and lets go the idea of being saved or needing someone to come in and be extraordinary in all things. I see this song as a very HUMAN song- of no longer asking for the fairytale trope, or superman styled connection. The lyrics then go on to say they aren't asking for all these really impossible demands or expectations- and just want to connect on the human level- the lyrics say "Just someone I can turn to" "Somebody I can kiss" Then the main chorus "I want something just like this"- meaning they want something more down to earth, more connected, less unrealistic, or and less pressured in expectations of both people to be perfect and perform as superheros for each other. - In this I resonate deeply with the song on this angle- as I have myself had unrealistic expectations of who or what another person could be for me in a relationship, or what they should fulfill for me- that made the other person feel like they did have to always show up or be some kind of constant God or superhero in the relationship. - It was an unfair and unrealistic expectation. Having lived out that trope, and realized the lesson that nobody can be that person 24/7 or even should be that person in a connection. As people, we feel, we have hard days, and challenging days- and the entire idea of turning someone into our superhero or superhuman people- is DEHUMANIZING- - We essentially take away that person's vulnerability, and feelings, and experiences- and narrow them into wanting or needing them to be this very constantly 'together' or controlled version of themselves for us to feel loved or feel held. - In this, I also learned the lesson that in intimacy- others need to be allowed to have fears, anxieties, concerns, broad spectrums of feelings- including sadness, anger, disgust etc... for their own wellbeing and equally for the relationship to sustain itself. People need to be allowed to be whole- not only expected to perform cleanly or in Heroic and stoic fashions always. - Other people don't have to be our saviors or superheros, and expecting that kind of perfection and intense reality from another in intimacy can be super toxic and very unrealistic in the long run. - With this, I don't feel this song fits into your narrative of being simply cocky or arrogant- as the song blasts through commonly held understandings or beliefs that our other halfs or intimate partners should be superhuman or perfect. - Though, notably the song SOUNDS the same as others- lyrically it departs, and actually takes on a very BIG construct, though simplified in its story telling. & honestly the musical break after the main chorus falls flat. It's very monotone and boring. - In this, I agree, the song is dull- and some may even say Coldplay is pretty mediocre sounding, I am aware of some who find Coldplay's sound to be vapid- but even for Coldplay this is very monotonous and boring- BECAUSE this is not 100% true Coldplay sound- and because as you said, the Chainsmokers have gotten very monotonous and repetitive in their sound- lacking clear distinction and tones between other songs. & Even Coldplay explored with and changed their sounds over the years- going from very alternative, instrumental guitar and rock sounding, to now sounding very electronic- then back to stripped down songs again. - At any rate, this is also is why I like Coldplay- lyrically, is their story telling and ability to focus on some very unique angles of humanity and feeling, and experiencing one another. Which is often what their songs are about. - Coldplay can get very existential but also intimate with some vulnerabilities and desires of wishes in relationships. - This song is not cocky, it's actually a very stripped down construct that speaks to over-complicating relationships and connections through expectations and preconceived notions of what our romantic partners should be. The song could have been so much more had Chainsmokers been willing to gamble a bit and get more creative and out there with their sound vs. playing it safe and dull with the monotonous tones in this song.
