Wat een heerlijk nostalgisch gevoel geeft mij dit lied altijd weer en wat een stem en muzikale begeleiding, geweldig! Die jongens waren super serieuze professionals in hun vak, dat zie je ook goed op deze opname. Ik ben van 1950 en de Cats waren op hun hoogtepunt circa eind jaren 60, 70/80 met enorm veel toppers. Leadzanger Piet Veerman met zijn super zuivere en bijzondere stem was voor velen een idool. In die tijd was er veel goede en muziek, die voor altijd blijft hangen in je herinnering, maar de Cats waren en zijn voor mij de absolute top, onvergetelijk!!!

Echt een prachtig lied

Times gone by, this remindes me of my early childhood. Life was so much simpler, we were happy with almost nothing.

My parents immigrated to South Africa after the war 1946. I visited the Netherlands in early 70's and heard their music in a record shop. Bought every LP , liked it so much since then. now 2018, years later and living in Mallorca I play it all the time.....I get tears in my eyes when I think of my long history, love for my parents and their music. I think you have to be a sensitive and passionate person to appreciate the Cats. Their music is very deep.

One of my all-time favorites, and the magnificent voice of Piet Veerman. Top class.

I AM! This version literally floats on air. A very majestic and worthy tribute to a hard to beat original song. I can't understand to this very day why both Sire/London and Rare Earth records didn't try harder to promote this song. The strong vocals project a drifting rhythm of their own over the subtle shifting percussion. Love the little tweaking harp throughout. It gives an already multilayered dream another unique hook. Nine more lives, you CATS!

Oh my God. This song so legend. When I was a Child, I hear every time,because of songs like this ..my English vocabulary enlarge...and love this subject in my class.until now.

This is a masterpiece!!! Composition, vocals, arrangement, melody ideally. Unfortunately, in his youth in the USSR SCARLET RIBBONS was little known. Some Cats songs are on par with ABBA and the Beatles.

My mom learned this lullaby when our cousin used to sing it to his daughters on family camping trips. In turn my mother used to sing it to my sister and I when we were children. I then sang it to my children and I now sing it to my grandchildren. We are now working on four generations.

Such a tremendously beautiful song! Unbelievable how this song reminds so many people of their love ones they've lost. Sadly and yet beautiful enough instantly reminds me of a funeral I've witnessed as well. My thoughts are with you all who have lost a dear friend or family member and have founded strength and peace in this song❤️

I first time heard this song back in 1977 when I was 6 or 7 y.o as my late dad used to play this song with his black-disc. Till now I think I'm so proud being one of many fans of the cats, I always sing one or two of their songs in many special occasions... Just awesome.

When I was a kid in the 1970s we had a small radio station. My mother used to play songs and she loved sentimental songs. Her favorite band was the Cat especially Marian and Lea. I used to sleep close to her when she was playing the songs. They are all gone now. It reminds a memory that will never fade away. May Allah bless my mother in the heaven.

I'm reading Sinaed O'Connor's memoir which she wrote in 2021. It's July, 2023 and she died a handful of days ago. Her dad would sing this to her before bed. I wish we all would have paid proper attention to Sinaed. Perhaps she would still be with us. I pray she rests in peace .
