Mines produce their silverling income at the END of each phase, rather than the beginning. So before final scoring, there should have been one more mine income step.
What a pleasant watch. Your chemistry together is palpable and just makes me enthralled in the gameplay. And Rodney this was supposed to be a difficult game to teach but with you teaching it made it go down like drinking water.
Loving that Rodney got his trademark box flip in 🙂 Nicely done!

I love how in games like this you'll have competitors pointing out ways to do each other's turns more efficiently. I catch myself doing that a lot too, even to my detriment. The points are nice but its even better to show off those gamer skills.
I love watching / listening to you all play games. When I can't find time to play, I can at least throw on your videos while I'm working and feel like I'm there :)
Fantastic! Playing my favorite. Nice to see older titles every once in a while. Cheers!
Rodney, you are fantastic and going over how to play board games. I know you get tons credit for your videos and entertainment, but fantastic job at explaining a game. Thanks for all your hard work
Good to see Castles of Burgendy on your show. Rodney did a good job explaining the game.
I've only played CoB once but really love it and after watching really want to play it again. Great interaction between everyone and I like how your explanations and helping each other with choices really makes the game play seem much simpler than it first appears.
Very entertaining. I love the special guests. Keep doing what you do!!! ❤️💖💕
LOVE the playing of an older game (classic)! Was just taking the other day about how these days I just blast through new games I hope to like and hardly return to older games I know I already love. Enjoyed this soooo much! Now to dust off my copy of COB 😊
This is one of my favorite games and it hits the table a LOT. Once you learn all the tiles, the replay-ability is so good. It's got lots of points going around and has a defined end / time. Perfect for a quick game night. Thanks for the video ;)
So awesome seeing you play this. One of my absolute favorite games and one of just three games I rated 10 on BGG (Hansa Teutonica and Too Many Bones being the others). Nikki nails it at the end in the end game discussion, this game is all about choices and I love it! Thanks for the playthrough.
I love the classics episodes, I’ll often jump to the end to hear the thoughts on these giants of gaming. Amazing in a group that likes euros so much that Rusty had only played once and Nikki + Linc had never played. Just goes to show that even when you’re on a show like GameNight there’s still those “You haven’t played?!” games.
@ 3:20 ~ What an excellent analogy. *"It's almost like buying the plans."* That is such an affable explanation. I believe I'll use this when tutoring others how to play. Thnx Rodney 🙂
I watched all of Wil Wheaton's TableTop episodes as they posted and enjoyed them very much until they ended. But never even heard of your Game Night series... Just watched the (Se3 Ep32) Port Royal episode and also enjoyed it. Looks like I have found a replacement for TableTop. ;) With LOTS of episodes to catch up on. :D

Just got this in the mail yesterday,. Can't wait for the weekend to come so it can be played.
I bought this game but never felt like I grasped it well enough to teach. Hence, it stayed on my shelf gathering dust. Just last month, i gave it to my niece to figure out in hopes we could play it over Thanksgiving. I can't wait to tell her it showed up on one of my favorite shows. Great rules explanation Rodney. Watching it played shows me what all the "hoopla" is about.
One of my favorite games! Thanks for the video!
One of my top 3 games ever. Would have loved to see the new edition but still happy you're playing a classic. Definitely going to be the first game I bring out in my new 'Cult of the Not New' gaming group.

When I first looked at this game, I wondered way it was ranked so high. I didn’t think it looked good. And then I played it. I love just getting points.
cool! what an awesome classic! :D it's on my list now
Whenever I see Lincoln smiling during the introduction I chuckle; he reminds me so much of Will Forte playing the obscure sports pundit.
you guys are so colorfull and lightendup. Looks like a delight. Keep going.
I'm pretty new into a board game hobby but this looks awesome, even though it's older, the mechanics look very fun and one of my favorite things about board games is replayability, which this game has infinite. So very cool! I love this show in general, didn't even notice almost 3 hrs went up.
One of the best board games ever made.

Ohh my!! Watching this vid made me realize that I have been playing wrongly this game. Following the rules as I was told, just looked the rulebook for few clarifications. We played the dice actions separately, one at a time 🤦♂️. Well I may say that is better to know it now than never 😅
Tried playing this years ago and we didn't get it. Watching this it was WAY more clear. Ready to try it again now.
Lincoln has the best shirts. Oh, yeah... And +1 for an older game. ;)

The new edition isn't really an upgrade. It's more saturated art and includes expansions that many current owners may already have, but no component improvements. It's more of a 'collected' edition.

@@werewolfkai that is both disappointing and a relief I don't have to spend money lol
I have this one. It's pretty sweet, and the set up for each round plus the die gives it a nice variability to it. I felt that this game with four players kinda gave the short straw for the last player to choose. One of you was the last one regularly and I think it had a negative impact on the game played. Still, seemed somewhat fair and balanced.
@joaorobalo7594

The game gives you an ingame mechanic to impact the turn order, meaning that after the first turn (in which you are compensated with extra workers for going last) it's entirely on your hands to become first player. It was up to Rusty to prioritise getting a few sailboats at the start and he had the extra workers to help him make it happen. Of course, since they are new to the game they might not have realised how much it mattered so they didn't go for it, but after the first few games you'll learn when you should or shouldn't try to fight for first place. It makes the game even more fun for me, specially when you can get yourself a double turn.
Yey! Burgundy!
Finally!!!! Wooohooo!
I believe Rodney forgot to take the 2 silver for his building at 1:16:20. Nicky shoulve gotten 2 silver instead of 1 at 1:51:36. Finally I cant believe Rodney let 3 points go. Instead of selling the goods for 12 he could have placed the last boat by changing the 5 to a 4 collecting the boat and then placing it with the 6. He would have gotten 8 points for finishing a 3 hex section plus 7 points for having all the water sections. :/ Shoulve listened to Lincoln

It actually wouldn't matter how you place your animals in a particular green cluster. As long as the animals are in the same cluster, they score victory points everytime a new animal comes to pasture. They don't have to be placed adjacent to another animal to score them all again.

Castles of Burgundy is still one of my favorites, but I would never bring it out with four players. It is a two or three player game for me.
@Tennethums1
4 жыл бұрын
DeLowpez why is that? Going to play it in earnest (for the first time) tomorrow night with four players. Is it game length?
@Naledgeizpwr
4 жыл бұрын
Tennethums1 it does add significantly more time to the game, also more downtime between turns. The board state changes a lot so the extra downtime does not add much for planning ahead either. I do not think it is bad at four, I just think the smaller player counts help distill what is great about the game more efficiently. Also there are many other games that are great at four, so I just wouldn’t be personally inclined to bring this one out if I had four.
