    Great video! Very entertaining to watch. Just so you know for future reference, being delayed only causes you to lose one out of the two actions you get on your next turn. Second, the remnants can be used to cast spells rather than taking horror that the spells give. 1 remnant spent reduces horror taken by 1, but only for spells, not from monsters, event cards, etc.

    But he did shuffle the whole event deck when a gate burst happen, so that compensates? XD For game learners: you only shuffle the event from the Gate Burst with the Event Discard Pile and place it at the bottom of the event deck, i.e. they are going to come back and haunt you! :)

    I was curious why the Card 1 rule, because it actually made no difference. That rule only takes effect if you have four doom on one space, but that's not possible because as soon as you get three in a space an anomaly opens and further doom goes directly on the scenario card.

    Not sure if anyone else noticed but at 2:04:37, the Hooded Stalker should have immediately engaged the investigator with the lowest strength on that space (Agnes) when it became unexhausted. Aaron should then not have had an anomaly encounter and been restricted to the Attack, Evade and Focus actions during the next action phase.

    At 2:43:52 a Doom goes on a space where there is an Anomaly. "If additional doom would be placed in any space of a neighborhood with an anomaly token, place that doom on the scenario sheet instead." So that Doom should have gone on the Scenario Sheet instead. So at 2:44:52 those three Doom that were directly added to the sheet did indeed - as Rusty said - "do something" as you would have been at 7 on the sheet

    Watching this to see whether Rusty, Aaron, Lincoln and Nikki can save their town and maybe the world in Arkham Horror 3rd edition, a game for 1-6 investigators from Fantasy Flight Games designed by Nikki Valens based on previous Arkham Horror editions by Richard Launias and Kevin Wilson.

  • @Majdi.J
    @Majdi.J5 жыл бұрын

    Amazing playthrough as always guys. Thank you. I grant that 3rd edition is more streamlined. But my issue is that it's too scripted for such a long game. In 2nd edition you had more freedom to do what you want for the length of the game. However in 3rd edition most of your actions are predetermined by the scenario, as in if you do very specific things you will lose. If I wanted to play a scripted AH game I much rather play the shorter LCG. My second issue is that it feels like this game comes with fewer components (encounter cards, investigators, items, etc) than 2nd edition. Couple that with the scripted nature and you can see how the replayability may suffer. I can play multiple times with the same ancient one in 2nd edition. However in 3rd you are likely to see the same thing more often, not to mention the same story.

  • @LLiivveeeevviiLL

    On the scripted note. I am no fan of the Mythos token bag being replenished just when it has being emptied. I would like to have it refilled after each round. Now you know that you have to pass through the exact number of Mythos tokens all the time. I guess I can play it as I want, but the Mythois tokens gets a bit more boring this way, unbalanced is a risk if doing it my way. But hey, let it happen.

    Seems like you guys skipped some rules tho.🤔 Like when the monster went from exhausted to ready, it should have also engage with the player that was on the same tile since it was ready and on the same tile as the player. Also in the myth phase, when there was a gate burst you're supposed to put the card that you picked in the discard pile and mix the discard pile back at the end of the event pile. (That's why there's a rule that say that if the discard pile is empty, the unstable space become the starter tile, because it becomes empty when there's a gate burst.) You explained it at first but you didn't do it when playing.

The first rule says "if a space has four or more doom, remove 3 and spread doom to all tiles in the district" but the second says "3 doom on a space create an anomaly, any further doom tokens go directly onto the scenario" ; how are you ever getting to 4 on one space then? This here seems like "Outbreak" can never happen, causing it to be a "dead" rule and making the game a chunk easier right?

    @@jirdir9025 Oh yeah, I do love the show too and they do such a wonderful job. There are certainly quite a few games in my collection now that I never would have known existed if it wasn't for the team. Errors will creep in, and they usually catch the big ones and add the text before the video is released, which is awesome too. Even with a few mistakes, they definitely show off the games so well, especially the fun aspects.

    @@SkywalterDBZ My ranking of those three is the exact reverse of yours! But I think I put AH2 at the top because with all the expansions, there are so many options to choose from for game variety (I never use ALL the expansion at once; that would be insane). When my game group decides it's an AH2 session, I choose one or two large expansions and include a few optional things from the small expansions, it feels so different each time. I could never get into the larger scale of Eldritch. Maybe I'm mildly agoraphobic, I don't know!

    I feel exactly the same way. The board is such a big part of getting immersed and the gaps, the shape, and the white lines ruins the art. EH is my favourite, but I'd rather pick up AH 2nd than 3rd.

    That event has reads for 0 doom, 1-2 doom, and 3 doom. The anomalies don't all have the same ranges. Some are (0-1, 2, 3), (0, 1-2, 3), or (0, 1, 2-3)

    Nope. Manual specifically states: "Removing Anomalies: Both the ward action and anomaly encounters allow you to remove doom from your space. When you have removed all doom from a neighbourhood, the anomaly in that neighbourhood stabilizes and you remove the anomaly token."

    In case anyone wants to use this playthrough as a way to learn the game, here's some rulings that went ignored throughout the game: 204.11 When you draw a gate burst token, place one doom in each space of the neighborhood that corresponds to the top card of the event deck. Take that card and the event discard pile, shuffle them together, and place them on the bottom of the event deck. 467.5 If a ready monster is in the same space as an investigator for any reason, it engages that investigator.

  • @quarkspin4347
    @quarkspin43472 жыл бұрын

    To shuffle 3 cards, have one player place the cards in an order behind their back. Pass to another player to shuffle. Alternatively have each player shuffle the 3 cards, passing them around the group. Either of these should remove any knowledge of card positions.

  • @Stegal1990
    @Stegal19903 жыл бұрын

    In case of gate burst he had to shuffle only the top card with discard pile and then put these cards at the bottom of event deck, no the whole event pile had to be shuffled

    So when a monster deals damage do you not get the opportunity to mitigate it through a defensive roll or something? Or does the monster just automatically inflict damage on its turn? This game does seem fun...but man it looks convoluted.

    Ive not played the LCG but everyone who has seem to absolutely love it, especially solo. Personally Im all for AH2. Its a convoluted complex slog of a game, but its amazing. Just about every game of it offers some memorable event or happening that at times are remembered for years. I had AH3 for a few years, we played it and the first expansions for a good amount, yet it always felt underwelming. And while fun, none of us has ever reminiced about it later. Its just a generic game, it plays fast but its also forgotten fast.
