Good thing we're scoring runs. Our bull pen is starting to show signs of wear. Talking about Romero, Kittredge and Helsley.

I still think that moving Goldy and Arenado out of the 3&4 holes for the time being. Take some of the pressure off. We've got other players playing well enough to produce in the middle of the lineup. While the long ball is sexy, moving runners over and scoring them from 3rd with less than 2 outs and hits with risp are quite important. Great game today. Gibson pitched great. Defense was solid. We jumped on the bullpen. This is what I expected going into the season. Let's see how we do tomorrow.

Still gonna wait and see what the next 10-15 games show. Win 10 of those games and they have something going.

I would love for Bernie to do a dive into the number regarding the Cardinals hitting vs left hand pitching.

I mean. It seems like they are now what they were constructed to be ... a team just good enough to squeeze into the playoffs ... maybe add a peice at the deadline ... hope to over perform in the post season... I agree that if Arenado hits for average and plays good defense. Moves down in the order. That isn't terrible ... Goldschmidt dropping off concerns me more.

The Cards need a legit 5th starter not Liberatore or Pallante.

I’m like 75% sure they’re waiting for Walker to hit a home run in Memphis before they call him back up and I just wonder if/when the organization is going to finally realize the best approach with him is probably to stop telling him he needs to lift the ball and instead tell him to drive the ball, take what you can get and let the power come when it comes (aka exactly what they’re doing with Winn)

@@georgesouthwick7000 Dylan’s main issue has been not being able to put on weight…now he just seems lost. I’m not old enough to really remember the Rasmus issue but I’ll never understand why they don’t just tell Walker to hit the ball hard and let results be what they are. Telling him he has to lift the ball has ruined him so far

This is why I liked the Brewers before the season, they are what the Cardinals used to be, sound fundamentally and able to to coach up players from other teams. This lays at the feet of Mo. His ego chased off most of the good coaches and good baseball minds and replaced them with yes men.

We’ll see. They were overwhelmed by Lodolo and company last night. Lance deserved a better fate. 9 of the last batters K’d. Ugly. Nice for the home team for Memorial Day. Now win the series.

This is why I'm not drinking the Kool-aid. When you have two Gold Glove corners cost you a game because of errors.....You have a huge problem. Last year's team and this years team are still horrible at fundamental baseball! It doesn't matter if you get good pitching or good hitting if you're not fundamentally sound. Remember this, we basically won a World Series in 2011 because Ron Washington didn't replace Nelson Cruz ( A terrible defensive outfielder) in right field for "Defensive" purposes. Defense and speed combined with decent pitching wins games. PERIOD!

I miss the good old days when there would be some smoke in the city if we didn't win 90 games. Ownership has definitely lowered expectations and standards over the last many years. You can hear it in their language. The owners and FO used to AIM for the World Series every year, then it was the playoffs, making the postseason, and now They're reduced to promising that they'll be competitive. The way some of the players talk even reflects this lowering of expectations.

Until we get past (not too) past 500, I'm not willing to say they're "good." Even poor teams.can get hot or lucky from time to time (look what we did in the series vs. The White Sox). Still, they HAVE been (for the most part) playing better baseball. Last night's game, however, is an example of why I'm still reserving judgment. I declared the season over with a while ago, and I would love to be proven wrong. But I'm not going to declare a team that is sub 500, who still has some underperforming bats, and is making fundamental errors "good." Side note (even though it was Goldy and Nado that committed the errors last night), Winn needs to stop making errors as well. I'm not saying I think he's bad: he just needs to slow down once in a while. He's got the arm to make close plays, so stop rushing them, and let's shore up the defense again.

They did Goldy a favor throwing 92 mph fastball right Down the middle. Don’t these guys have videos. The guy can’t hit outside breaking balls to save his ass. Our record is pretty much where it should be. I’m going to wait another 25 or so games before I spend any money on them.

They still suck ass. These wins are not very good. They still can barely catch, field, and pitch. Some are hitting the ball right now but that will subside. If they're actually in first place by a few games or more by the end of June, then I'll say they're playing well.

The Cardinals are not a playoff team. Although, they have played better and won 10 out of the last 13 games.....I'm still not sold yet especially when your all-star corner infielders forgot how to hit. I mean their production has dropped way off! Smh
