The early 2000's was an amazing time for car culture. With cars like the 2003-2004 Ford SVT Terminator cobra and Toyota Supra - big power was finally becoming easier. However there's a third car in that list that definitely worth mentioning. The Corvette C5 Z06 came out with a vengeance with it's LS based powerplant. With only a little bit of boost this C5 Z06 makes over 600HP on stock motor in a lightweight chassis. So let's take this car on a rip and talk all about it!

As a C5 owner and Corvette aficionado, you know I agree with you. The fact that just a few short years ago you could buy a low mileage C5 Z06 for less than $25k is just insane. I love that the C5 is having its well deserved moment, with people starting to realize what an absolute bargain it was (and still is, if I'm being honest). Even a base model like mine is a 350hp six-speed manual, rear wheel drive sports car that has a targa top standard. Is the interior crap? Of course! Do I care? Not in the slightest. As a base platform for speed, the C5 stands alone. Great video, man. Always love seeing a Vette pop up on your channel. (And I'll forgive you the Red/Tan dig, hahaha!)

base model manual in near perfect condition for under 20k, you can occasionally find them and they are so sweet. Going to be worth a ton too when gas engines become niche. Everyone will want to drive raw 90's/ early 2000's sports cars because they don't have the weird issues that older classics have but the have the personality new cars are missing. Also in the corvette's case, the displacement that's missing in new cars.

I love the c5 because my uncle has one, and always tells me trivia about all types of cars . He told me that they made the c5 zo6 only hardtop because it was lighter than the targa , however with further testing, the found that the targa was more aerodynamic, so they used the sloping rear for further models . It’s inspired me to work on my career and get my dream car of my own, a wb hellcat challenger , and hopefully ride side by side with him in our cars. However I’ve been growing more of a liking in the c7s, however well see how my journey is, maybe I can get both if I work hard enough!

Well, my friend got a 105k mile 50th anniversary C5 Z06 that was supercharged for $17500 and that thing is a speed demon, handles like it's on rails, and is honestly way more comfortable than I was expecting. Though the seats could use more side bolsters we kind of slid all over in our seats around some of the bigger corners. But C5 ZO6 is a great car and my friend surer seems to enjoy his and I think it's pretty badass too.

MK4 Supras weren’t selling no one knew what they were till the fast and furious came out outside of their niche market. JDM cars were considered unreliable and expensive. Fox Bodies dominated the ever living hell out of the 90s car scene. These cars were truly kings when they came out though. Unless you ran across something exotic or highly modified - no one was gonna be faster. I remember a new C5 showing up one night and beating the fastest cars in my local street racing scene circa 1998 (mostly imports, couple mustangs). Thing gave off a real supercar vibe at that time.
