Hi folks. 1. Heat issues were due to non working intercooler pumps. Changing a faulty fuse solved the problem. TIKT cooling kit now workes perfekt. 2. Like the C55 it doesn´t like to shift when in rev-limiter. As said in vid, shifting at 6000rpm is sweetspot 3. Maybe the stability control was on. I cannot see the off sign in vid, maybe its just not on camera After this vid I did 120 more laps with it without any problems (until someone rammed me). TIKT package is definitely worth the money (and reason why I bought this car). Last but not least: Nürburgring Streckensicherung found the license plate and handed it to me 1hr later.

After the inspection with TIKT, they suspected the intercooling system wasn´t working properly (secondary cooling pump failure) Overheated intake air -> ECU gives extra fuel to cool with fuel -> unburned fuel in exhaust -> burning fuel in exhaust, which melted the plate away. Apparently a relatively common issue among C7 Z06. We were pretty lucky that the car did not catch fire.

The early Z06s also had general heat soaking issues. They corrected it by adding more cooling and better venting for those coolers. plus get good quality coolers for the auto, Engine oil, intercoolers, diff oil coolers as well and better quality auto built is the way to go, especially if your going to track the car and anyway with set thermoset built into the oil coolers they only open up once the oil temps reach a setting you pick. so when your driving around on a average day, the thermostat will only open when the oils reach a set temp) So for a track day have the thermostat set at the best operating temps for the various oils used in the Auto, engine, Diff etc, plus with a fan operational to auto start when the oils reach more than a set rate as well. for extra safety for the engine oil, auto, Diff etc. cheers 🦘🦘👌👌✌✌👍👍

Yes, I had a 2019 auto Z06 and that doesn't even sound like the same transmission or car to me, that transmission was shot. Nothing like my car was. Thing was a complete monster and would just rip through the gears compared to that car. This video does the car no justice at all. Paddle shifters are worthless on the track, really just use them for dropping a gear on the street. The programming on the auto is really outstanding for the track once you get some seat time in it and just let it do its job. Not the best transmission out there but its a lot better than most on here are giving it credit for.

Hopefully a C8 Z06 will be a much better experience with the transmission and cooling. I'd say it might even have more cooling than the Z06 or ZR1 with an NA engine, so it shouldn't have issues there. The auto transmission is also significantly better at shifting, pre C8 corvettes for track use should be manuals, especially the C7's prone to more cooling issues with the autos.

I couldn't believe how good these c7 z06s are until I rode in my instructors on the track. Continental extreme contact tires in 35-40 degrees F° and that things hooked. I was pinned against the console and the door numerous times...he was pushing it probably 80% and I never once felt like it was going to lose control. I had such a different experience than what all these reviewers say, especially the original top gear lol. They make the corvette seem like it's the most insane car and you must have a death wish if you want to drive it. Maybe if you're a pro pushing it 100% it's harder to drive than a porsche or mid engine car, yes, but for the average enthusiast no it's extremely composed. Glad to see you had a good experience like I did for once.

That 1.7 liter supercharger is the same as my ZL1 and they get HOT WAY TO FAST! Corvette had to much of a restriction of air in the front which was solved in the ZL1…Misha should’ve left it in auto 😅 transmission was shifting bad because he was on the redline to long. I dont understand how no company is making high end action camera, there is only "cheap" gopro that is utter trash and no company is stepping up to the fairly easy task of making a better action camera than gopro.

This car needed actually better introduction. This ist not a stock c7 z06 by any means. It is a custom tune from TIKT for approx €40.000 ! With race cooling for €20.000. Bilstein race suspension with unibal joints. It should be a track tool and not having cooling issues! In theory, the practice we just saw… But explainable if the intercooler pump failed. What should not be are too hot exhausts from the safety enrichment. Either GM did not do a proper job here, or the car is tuned and the safety functions do not work properly.

Flashing check engine most likely due to detonation and the computer reached the end of how much timing it can pull. Then of course it will go into a reduced power “limp” mode which is seen about halfway through the lap. Excessive detonation from high intake air temp which of course is from ineffective charge coolers. Can also happen if you don’t use 100 octane fuel for track use.
