Today we're going to be taking a look at "It Takes A Thief", the home burglar reality show I forgot existed. For good reason though, this show was quite the fever dream. I had watched it as a kid and remember it being one of the coolest shows ever. Which just means I think it's silly as an adult. Anyways enjoy, it takes a thief!

My brother is a few years older than me, and the whole family is absolutely certain my brother's friends did it. We had 2 VCRs connected to the TV, one working and one half broken (we just used it for RF switching). They stole the working one and left the broken one behind. They definitely had inside information about what to steal, they knew we were gone, and they knew we would not return for several weeks. Theft is not random. When I was about 22 years old and I was asked by my parents to watch over their house that I grew up in over the summer, like "check in now and then and water the plants", and one day I find the door to be unlocked and my childhood home to be upside down and trashed by someone who I do not know, someone who I never allowed entry, I can kind of understand how you would say that it "feels like you've been raped", but obviously it is not the same as actual rape. But it was something so disturbing. It didn't leave me or my parents with the feeling of "oh no our stuffs gone!", it was the knowledge of someone intruding your home and destroying it, taking whats yours, not respecting your autonomy, not respecting your place that is supposed to be yours and safe.

  • @amberlynnbaker5293

That's understandable because you were actually robbed. It takes away your sense of safety. These guys are absolutely devastated over having their house messed up. Honestly the episode shown seemed mild, beanie guy usually smashes so much shit. The most iconic episode was called "The House that Fought Back", where they robbed a magician's house and the thief kept getting caught up in the tricks. In hindsight, that was probably staged, it's a little ridiculous that a thief would be deterred by snake in a jar...

I usually don’t comment on videos, let alone like them, unless they’re music videos but James, I LOVE ALL of your videos, I’m going to comment on each one of them to help out in anyway I can bc you should be a lot bigger than you are. I don’t understand how you haven’t just blown up. 😢
