More clips from one of my favorite areas in the Zoo, the Aquatic Bird House and the accompanying Russell B. Aitken Sea Bird Colony.
Species featured (in order of appearance):
- Magellanic Penguin (Spheniscus magellanicus)
- Peruvian Pelican (Pelecanus thagus) (If you're wondering what it's doing thrashing its neck and bill about, it's stretching its gular pouch, which is the large bag of skin beneath its bill that allows it to store fish in its mouth.)
- Inca Tern (Larosterna inca)
- Lesser Adjutant Stork (Leptoptilos javanicus)
- Roseate Spoonbill (Platalea ajaja)
- Ringed Teal (Callonetta leucophrys) (such a cute little duck)
- African Spoonbill (Platalea alba)
- Tufted Puffin (Fratercula cirrhata)
- Little Blue Penguin (Eudyptula minor)
- Some type of tern (Common Tern, I'd guess? (Sterna hirundo))
- Grey-necked Wood Rail (Aramides cajaneus)
- Scarlet Ibis (Eudocimus ruber)
- Crested Coua (Coua cristata)
- Storm's Stork (Ciconia stormi)
