The Bridge Over the River Kwai, War Museum, Kanchanaburi 🇹🇭

Ойын-сауық

Today we look round the war museum,This was by far the most emotional thing I have done so far in Thailand, dedicated to the bridge over the river Kwai.
Constructed between 1942 and 1945 by prisoners of the Second World War, the railway was a grim testament to the Japanese refusal to surrender. Captured soldiers faced brutal treatment, toiling on the railway for 22 hours a day with scant provisions of food and water. In early 1943, under pressure from their superiors, the Japanese implemented a merciless stage they dubbed "speedo." It was during this period that Hellfire Pass earned its name, as Allied prisoners were compelled to endure two 12-hour shifts in unbearable conditions, illuminated solely by the glow of innumerable burning fires. Thousands of men met their demise in horrific circumstances during the construction of the railway.
Kanchanaburi is a Thai province known for its history with the famous Bridge on the River Kwai,
