Hi all! A few people have commented on the fact that my children are a little young for One Piece right now. Thank you for sharing this. I thought "The Breathtaking World of One Piece" would be a fun video to react to and I have no current plans to film videos with my children in the future. Thank you!

They really are a bit too young to watch One Piece anime series because it has a lot of scenes that is inappropriate for them to be exposed but once they turn 15 they can watch it

They looked really interested. But they might be too young, there are other shows that might be better for them. I hope they remember this moment when they're a bit older and will have the same fascination and curiosity to check out One Piece

I will make an argument for the other side then. I think its fine for them to watch it personally. One Piece is a lot like Pixar movies, in the sense that it was intended for children but made so that the parents would enjoy it too. There is an argument that they just “won’t get it” and that fine also. It just means their experience with one piece will be unlike most, and they can rewatch it once they are older.

@@Strongest_under_heavenHard disagree. Its a lot more like dragonball z and naruto, aimed at tweens and above. The show contains quite a few adult themes and scenes not suitable for children. Its a bit different from Pixar's adult jokes that'll fly over most kids heads.

I wish people reacted to different videos though. It's such a boring video for people to react to. They're like 'wow' but have nothing to say, because there's nothing to say anything about. I get not wanting to spoil but this video isn't anything. And everyone reacts to this one. And honestly, I watched all kinds of spoiler videos before I started OP and I didn't remember any of it by the time the stuff actually happened. I don't think spoilers are that big of a deal in OP.

I've actually put a lot of thought into this, for reference I was 18ish at the time(so a kid but not a kid lol) and I'm super glad I discovered it when I did. Like you said, I definitely appreciate it more as an adult but theres more. Given the timing, if I was a kid I would have watched the 4kids dub, and we all know that's a big yikes. Also One Piece has sort of ruined every other story even remotely similar just by weight of comparison. Imagine you finish watching/reading One Piece then pick up another series with that level of expectation 😅

I watched one piece (at least the first 120+ episodes) when i was 9 or 10 , and i did understand most if not all the plots , nami carrying the wight of her village alone as a child, her crying for luffy to help her, and luffy's speech infront of arlong about how he needs his friends to fullfil his dream , sanji and his love and respect for zeff , chopper and the doctor guy 😢 and the quote "does one die when a bullet pierce his body? No..does one die when a poison eats his body ? No..one dies when he is forgotten " this quote is still stuck with me .. Vivi , and the entire rebellion plot and how she tried to handle things , and luffy's words for her and the conflict between them These are just examples from the top of my memory, the deep things that i was able to understand and the moments i cried over , i still remember ❤

@@Shellyish some scenes might need a bit of an explanation later on in the story. Oda tends to not hold back at all when he wants to hurt his readers emotionally. Specifically when it comes to character backstories. Just FYI cause I don't think I could have handled One Piece before I turned 10 or something like that. The man seems to get better and better with time at causing me pain. I've been a part of the fandom for close to 20 years at this point. You should get your kids watching that show or reading the manga. It did so much for me and I wish I had discovered it when I was a kid. I was really depressed for most of my life and felt like I didn't belong in this world. I've recently become a nomad and it was the best decision I've ever made. I travel all over the world with nothing more than I can carry on my back. Some people were not meant to live conventional lives. I've become so happy since I set out on my journey that I frequently cry tears of joy and I've seen so many beautiful things along the way. I used to chain smoke cigarettes on my parents' front porch in Michigan while drinking beer after beer. Now I've climbed volcanoes, swam with dolphins and explored the ruins of ancient civilizations. Reading One Piece was a big part of what made me go, "Alright then. I'll try that." instead of settling for a life that would have made me unhappy.

This video has so much to take in, and while I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, I wouldn't go through and study it. There's not much to spoil here, but would hate for you to get too familiar with the journey ahead before you get there! However, I love how (at least the last video you uploaded) you just got out of Whiskey Peak, and you get recommended this, giving you a foretaste of the majestic world head of you. To quote a fellow Nakama who has gone on before us: "One Piece is beautiful" And it really, really is. *edit: meant to say, but got distracted: love seeing your family get in on the fun here! Hope your boys loved it ^^

This one piece video is amazing but there were so much spoilers omg, so ironically I hope you didn't paid too much attention lol, at least you don't have context and can still wonder how we'll get to certain points. For your son that don't want to be a pirate, he can also be a marine, government agent, revolutionaries, bounty hunter, explorer or merchants.

One piece anime I recommend they can start watching from age 10 onwards if they watch like 2-4 episodes a week which eventually turn 4 episodes if you cut off recaps time at the start of the episodes so they would be around 14 years old then when the series hits 500+ episodes 😂😂 timeskip of 2 years and harder contents appears. And most Asian kids started watching this when they were 9 or 10 really

9:10 - I recognize that look of pleading XD If you are as active a parent as you present yourself here, One Piece is appropriate for anyone 8 and up. I have personally held of on introducing some of my nieces and nephews because their parents would *never* talk to them about it, and there's a lot to digest for a kid. In those cases, 13+ is a fine time to start. Subject matter that's covered: War, Slavery, Human Trafficking, Corruption, Child Experimentation, Cloning, Abandonment, Luffy's Penis, Parental Death, (I just got to Big Mom, so brace for impact), Child Abuse, Child Labor, Soul Manipulation, *Cannibalism*, Regicide, Prison, Gender Fluidity, Memory Loss, Illness, Starvation... But Oda is making a Shonen at the end of the day. Literally intended for boys around age 12 to read. It's not Berserk or Shigurui or the like.

First and foremost: I love your family. That said, I just want to add one note that you probably don't need to hear but I will mention anyway because there are too many KZreadrs out there who apparently never had anyone tell them this: underage kids should not be exploited for views. Kids are kids, and they aren't old enough to sign up for the consequences of starring in a KZread channel that may end up sharing their childhood with thousands of people. It is okay for random strangers to walk up to you and make a conversation when they recognize you, but it will become awkward fast if those strangers start discussing your children and engaging with them as if they know everything. Privacy is like that genie stuck in the bottle that cannot be put back in. Again: I don't think you intend to do anything like that and were just sharing something with them that was also suitable for your channels content. (Although there is a case to be made that you could engage with them better while watching if there hadn't been a camera you kept worrying about while juggling the mom-hat and creator-hat!) Unrelated to their presence, I would have loved to hear more about your impressions of the video, because that is the essence of your channels content to begin with. I loved the little family interaction moments, but I probably would have enjoyed your analysis of the things you saw while comparing them to your familiarity with other works, literary concepts, breadth of scope and your own expectations far more.

Thank you for this kind comment. I may end up talking about the world a bit more in detail, but thought this would be fun. And it was! My kiddos have gotten a kick out of seeing themselves back on video. I hear you on exploiting kids for content and such. Seems like you've thought a lot about the subject and I appreciate you sharing your expertise with me. This was a bit of a different video for me. Back to regularly scheduled content very soon. :)
