Been watching you guys for the last few months. Took your simple advice…eat whole foods, be consistent in the gym, and, most importantly, be kind to myself. Dropped from 340lbs to 275 lbs. I’m on my way!

Thanks for the show. I was active every day for 6 hours per day, by Thursday completely burnt out, tired and all my energy spent. Since I have been listening to you guys, I am getting more sleep, training less and seeing amazing results. I felt so guilty by not putting in the hours, now I see how counter productive they ended up being. I have no feeling of guilt. I am a 51 year old female with more energy, eating better and completely natural.

I mean this goes back to what my wife who is a molecular geneticist has been saying - 40-70 percent of your weight is genetic as determined by hunger regulation hormones. Genes determine how these hormones express themselves and what this drug does is correct the way these hormones are effecting peoples cravings. The 40-70 percent window is also lengthened or shortened by healthy behaviors such as daily activity and good diet. So you can definitely modify your body composition through good behaviors but for some people it is insanely more difficult bc of how their body reacts to food and signals the food sends

I’ve been on ozempic for 5 months. I am diabetic type 2. I’ve struggled with weight and binge eating my whole life. In the beginning I could barely eat anything but I had to constantly remind myself to eat my 250 grams Of protein per day. It helped me blood glucose almost immediately. My cravings went away. I can be out with my friends and limit myself subconsciously if I eat “bad” foods. I do strength train 5 days a week. Ozempic in the right hands is great. It’s a tool, nothing to rely on but can benefit you in many ways. Fortunately I don’t get side effects. Ask me anything and I’ll answer your questions about ozempic 😊

I used this for a few months and lost approx 30lbs. It works. BUT… a lot of the weight was muscle. I was smaller overall, which is why I took it. But, for me, the muscle loss was not worth it. I couldn’t eat protein at all. Although I was smaller, I was “fatter “ on my arms and shoulders, and basically everywhere. My sister amd a few friends( all female) had the same result. We all are very active and workout. It was detrimental to our fitness. I became so weak all I did was sit. I had my blood tests done; the test showed below the normal range for protein. I have struggled to get my strength back. I am having to be strict on my diet to adhere to 1 gram per pound protein. I have also began Sermoralin to help regain muscle, it’s harder to do after such a loss. I think this is useful for those who are “considered obese “ in order to help with the other detrimental effects of obesity. But if you want to shed 30 or less and are active, use caution. I couldn’t get above the .2 range. Maybe there is a different dosing strategy that could be better for those of us that need to lose 30 or less

This episode resonates with me so much, my child has recently had her tablet taken from her as she just dosnt appreciate human interaction at the same time ... guess what... she dosnt even care when we say no because we're spending time together instead. It's my job as a parent to take the tantrums and put the effort in. I just need to keep a stiff upper lip and think of interesting ways to get her involved with household activities ... she now helps with pegging the washing out etc .. I'm pretty impressed for a 4 year old 😂 if I turn it into a game its really not that difficult! 😊

I love this so much! I’ve done this with both my boys. People don’t look past the initial tantrum, when it actually gets easier. Even when we are occupied cooking, etc., they don’t need a screen to occupy them and if the screen isn’t there, you’re giving them back their imagination. Kids will always think of things to do and play if we give them the opportunity… these screens take their imaginations out of their hands and it’s so sad. I applaud you ❤

😅 I know exactly what bit Justin was talking about with Kevin Hart and the 'the way I have my checking account set up.' I'm glad he didnt attempt to repeat it as it's lenghty. Gotta watch it to understand. Its a build up. Great listener Q regarding the basics of breathing. Guys said the Same thing i would tell my clients during heavy movements or even short, explosive movements . 👏

I get about 10,000 to 12,000 steps in a day since finding you guys about almost 3 months ago. I am currently working out 6 days a week for about an hour. Should I increase my calories?. I have seen my weight stay about the same for the past 2 and half months. But with the tips you all provided my body is looking completely different. I am getting stronger but just want to make sure I am eating enough. I am 4"11, 136 pounds, and 34 years old with 4 gorgeous children (all born via c-section) any tips you can provide? ❤️

The third question has always been something confusing to me I don't understand the breathing stuff either, no matter how many times someone explains it to me I can't breathe when I do this or that, I cannot do the balsamiq maneuver I'm not sure if that's what it's called I don't know how to spell it, but I can't breathe when I'm told I'm supposed to breathe when I'm lifting weights , inhale when I do this exhale when I do that,,, it's just too hard for me I feel more comfortable breathing in a way that feels natural and normal when I do strength training I hope I'm still doing a good work out despite not being able to follow the breathing rules ☹️

I was a decent runner amd triathlete until I got a stress fracture 3 months back so took up strength training while recovering. Following your advice I'm loving making gains in the gym. I know you guys so cardio isn't needed for fat loss but what about including dedicated endurance training into a schedule not for the goal of losing fat but to build aerobic fitness? When I'm fully recovered I'd like to get back into endurance but also continue to build muscle while staying lean. I know that doing both simultaneously isn't optimal to either but wondering if there is a sweet spot for each or should I focus on one or the other? Crossfit athletes and hybrid athletes come to mind.

Most people are controlled by food bc we have evolved for that to be the case. 2000 years ago being controlled by an urge to eat was advantageous when the grain sole from the local Roman Governor meant the difference between starvation and living to see another winter. We have evoked to breed, and eat and breed and eat and then look for our next meal and the next meal after that

One of the major issues of these GLP 1 agonists lies in their ability to reduce appetite, which also means they can reduce your ability to consume enough protein. Since medical professionals and research on these drugs primarily focus on BMI and not body composition, they have missed a crucial piece of information regarding these massive weight losses, the fact that these drugs can also seriously reduce lean body mass. It is very important that protein intake and resistance exercise be kept up during treatment with these drugs to maintain muscle mass. The most effect these drugs have is on people with 50% or over bodyfat, because the vast majority of the weight loss will naturally be fat mass. Hard work and proper nutrition still plays an important role, and these drugs are not the miracle drugs they seem, miracle pills still do not exist. edit: I love the fact that you guys brought this up and it really shows your depth of knowledge and credibility and that you just don't take things at face value.

Because I’ve struggled with gaining and losing since I was 16 (29 now) it fascinated me so much how everyone and their mamas were losing weight with semaglutide and tirzepatide that it sent me down a rabbit hole to learn exactly what these GLP-1 peptides were doing in the body. It’s so much more than JUST an appetite suppressant. It also is working in the gut and the pancreas helping regulate blood glucose levels by upping insulin and lowering glucagon (aka GLP-1 = glucagon peptide). Anyways, the fkn root cause of all of these metabolic health issues IS an *overconsumption* of refined sugar, processed carbs and chemical colors and additives in our food that are wrecking havoc on our metabolic health. We need to address what’s IN our food and stop just simply thinkings “cals in and cals out”. Yeah, cal deficit will always result in weight loss BUT once they reach that goal weight they gain their weight back NOT because they went back to how they were eating before but because their metabolism is fkd up from years of over eating trash food that wrecked our system. Semaglutide/Tirzepatide are amazing tools to get your health back but y’all HAVE to realize the root cause and address it to have not only weight loss but health/longevity. Please save your mitochondria cells and ditch the poisonous refined sugars and carbs, trust.. that is what is giving you the binge eating disorder.

  • @saltybaelv

Side note about tirzepatide, it’s unexpectedly completely gotten rid of my pre menstrual dysphoria disorder (PMDD) as far as neurological issues go. For example, like clockwork every month right before my cycle I would have two days crossed off of my calendar to let myself and husband know those are my scary days of uncontrollable anger and suicidal ideation.. it’s fkn crazy y’all.. I know it’s happening but I cannot stop it no matter what I did. It’s so scary and after my first dose of tirz it went away completely! Honestly could care less if I never lost and pound on triz. The fact that’s it’s “cured” my mental health issues is beyond me and I can’t find any studies on it. But I have a feeling it’s allll linked back to diet 100%. I’m excited to cycle of triz after months of healthy eating to see if I can make the mental health aspect a permanent change but I swear I will take this forever if I’m just stuck with PMDD because it is truly saving me from killing myself and ending my marriage.

But fitness people who are like “ I really enjoy eating beef and broccoli, and working out everyday!” I don’t understand that at all
