    Seeing this takes me back to when I first learnt to scratch using your original tutorials. I’ve come a long way since then. I must make the effort to do a SSS with u 🙏🏻

    I don't know if its intentional, but at the end of the video, DJ TLM performs the pattern over 4 bars, followed by 4 bars of the instrumental. I downloaded the video to mp3, and set-up an 8 bar loop in Serato. It's a great way to practice over and over!

    It’s a clip from one of my Saturday Sessions videos. Throughout the entire sessions, I do the 4 bars of scratching followed by 4 bars of the instrumental so people can scratch. I can provide an audio version of the entire sessions so you can always loop any pattern you want to practice👍🏾 I’ll add a download link later today

    Awesome! Great tutorial as always. Thank you. So, do you know all of these patterns off by heart, and just bust them out when it feels right? Or is the point of learning these to just be accustomed to different combinations of scratches?

    When I record my Saturday Sessions videos, I have no idea what I’m going to do. I literally come up with it when I begin to move the record/platter. It wasn’t until later that I realized that for a beginner it can be difficult to follow a pattern when they only hear it at regular speed. So these tutorials can help give some insight into scratch patterns, and at the same time, learning these patterns can help you to develop your own combinations easier.

    Great vid as always man thank you! Off this topic question…One if your older videos you felt like Mixcloud was the way to go for streaming long term. What are you’re thoughts today? I did some streaming last year and now I really want to buckle down and build a following and am torn between platforms. Curious on your opinion a year later. Thanks!

    I stream my mix show to Mixcloud, Twitch, and Twitter. Mixcloud is still the only truly legit platform, but they have no real community (yet). Twitch has the community and the stream works fine. I just have to remove the replay because they will mute that. Twitter gives me no issue, but I haven’t found an audience there yet. My educational Q&A to KZread, FaceBook, Twitch, Mixcloud, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

    Thanks for getting back! Def want to go mixcloud route but like you said the community isn’t there. Maybe with the new features of how they can share it will help drive viewers from FB and twitch there.

    Can you show how to scratch with no scratch samples

  • @djTLMtv

    @djTLMtv

    2 жыл бұрын

    Everything would be exactly the same. Any sound can be the “scratch sample”. A vocal, an instrument, even a drum sound. For the pattern shown in this video, you do want to use a longer sound. A short sound won’t allow you to do the longer drag movement
