IMO the surgical item is used to lobotomize herself. She's so smart she can't help not making bad decisions. This allows her to be normal even if it's just for a few hours. But her healing factor brings her back. It's like a drug to her.

Van is very off about Homelander's "rehabilitation". The show is moving towards his complete psychotic breakdown. I'm not going to spoil it and enough has changed in the process of adaptation from the comics that things will be different, but I seriously doubt that Homelander is going to survive this show. Butcher? That's an open question at this point, but again, if they do something akin to how the comic ended, fans will be shocked and dismayed. That's a big but though, because I have a feeling that Kripke doesn't want to end his show with the kind of darkness and ambiguity that Ennis ended the comic.

Van is so off-putting. Trying to bully people while discussing nerdy ass tv shows is pretty wild.

This show you guys have here needs more focus. You guys get distracted and bounce around too much and ramble on about stuff that barely has anything to do with the show itself.

So sage has no business in the 7, what is her motivation, she “demonstrates” she’s the smartest person in the world by deducing homelanders life? I think she’s actually going to be the one behind the development of the poison that can kill homelander. She keeps subtly saying that people in vought are racist and sexist. The writing is so heavy handed with trump and MAGA it’s really cringe at this point. I’m totally against trump and all things MAGA, but some subtlety is in order. Two most underrated aspects of writing is subtlety and pacing. I’ve seen each season multiple times, and it’s good but not great.

I'm also very anti-MAGA and what some people would probably call "woke" and I tend to cringe when shows try to be modern and introduce current buzzwords. But with The Boys it just works IMO.

She was a breath of fresh air, and Charles let his mediocrity blight the room and squeezed her out of the show and the Ringer and Charles could not keep that show relevant or interesting enough to keep it going. I'm a POC and it pains me to say this - Charles seems like a modern day Affirmative Action is propelling his career. I wanna know how this confidence trick was structured.
