Here me out, but the supe virus attaches to a compound V in their veins. Thats why it doesn't effect normal people. So how would it effect Butcher? He's dying because of a V powered tumour, but the compound V is in his tumour, not in him. So wouldn't injecting Butcher with the virus just kill the tumour, allowing for him to have a happy ending?

YES I started Supernatural a few days before episode 7 before and I literally watched the shapeshifter episode the day before and I could see the Starlight moment coming

About Ambrosius - it might be that she's still alive. She was fine sitting outside the tank for a while and they drew attention that "she can't be out for too long", so her immediately starting to suffocate seems weird. It could be a trick she played to survive and crawl to safety and maybe come back for revenge.

Hmm technically octopus can survive outside of water for a hour if they absorb water before going out. I am glad they revealed to the audience that Starlight was kidnapped and replaced. The Shapeshifter is a super deepcut from Supernatural Season-01 originally aired in 2005. Supernatural was also Eric Kripke's baby, thats why he has cast Jensen Ackles, Jeffery Dean Morgan, Alex Calvert, Jim Beaver, etc. only remaining person is Jared Padelicki, who will hopefully come in season-05 of The Boys. If we want to get super Meta, Dean and Sam were meant to kill each other in Supernatural series, but they didnt agree to God's plans and won. We can have Jensen Ackles Soldier Boy, kill Jared Padelicki's character or vice versa, culminating a long super meta plot point. 😂

I liked how the shapeshifter here completely resembled the shapeshifters in Supernatural, a show created by Eric Kripke [showrunner of The Boys].

The problem is it's so aggressively one-sided that it's not as amusing anymore. It used to be really clever, and now, it's just squeezing as many talking points in as possible without trying to make it smart or unique. The first couple of seasons were awesome, but they really got a little caught up in trying to make sure their points were as painfully clear as possible.

@@rdrb8329 It is possible to surgically remove brain tumors. So perhaps the boys will freeze butcher's in liquid nitrogen and by extension the tumor and remove it from his body. This probably will not happen but it's a theory.

Why in the same episode do we see the octopus out of water on the bed doing just fine and then see it die as soon as it leaves water??

This I think was the grossest episode. Also, twice in two episodes for Huey.

It looks like there's going to be an office Christmas party at Vought Tower. The last time we saw one of those is when Homelander first met Becca and Billy Butcher. Food for thought...

Also want to mention that the shapeshifter power is an Easter egg to Supernatural shapeshifters since they pretty much do the exact same thing in the show

One thing I like to point is Ryan’s speech is a lot like homelanders speech when he breaks character and goes against vought for trying to control him, Ryan is basically doing the same thing and also tells Ashley to keep rolling instead of going to commercials just like Homelander did they’re similar scenes but also opposites

I think black noirs narcoleptic is a meta joke/ foreshadowing because he is a sleeper agent (to counter homelander). He just has the same powers like homelander but he isn’t a direct clone (like in the comics)

I saw somewhere that said its a joke because the actor naps on set a lot, he had no lines, he had no emote directions because of the mask so he had to pay less attention at meetings.

I feel Ryan telling Ashley "don't go to commercial " is a reference to Homelander telling Ashley "Don't you f'n go to commercial " before his speech in season 3

The way the shapeshifter sheds its skin is the same way shapeshifters in supernatural would do so. I thought that was a cool nod to his past work.

I'm starting to wonder how strong this new Black Noir really is. I'm starting to think his powers are growing and getting stronger.

The fight scene with The Deep and Black Noir is probably the best fight scene in the show.

Pretty sure at the end the parasite made butcher pass out because he didn’t agree with his view on Ryan and still having hope for him, my guess is Joe is gonna take over with episode 8 and that’s gonna play into season 5

This episode and the last have sat weird with me. The part with Homelander killing Webweaver was so raw and viscerally showed what he did to others in the bad room, but my heart can't really fuck with the show with how they're treating Hughie. His dad dies, he gets raped, and then he gets raped again? All in a 3 episode span? It's too much even for a show with this much dismemberment and disgust like it transcends the show's issues and comes to real life logic. Season 1 was all about Starlight's rape, and here they're sweeping Hughie's baggage under the rug and telling him to suck it up.

In the series 'Secret Invasion,' the Skrulls had the power to know the memories of whomever they duplicated, but limited to a certain short period back in time. Limited absorption of memories (unless they had them in mind probing machines to do a deeper dive).

I swear in every video about the S4 Ep 7, there is a comment about having anxiety or scared thinking Homelander was waiting for A Train outside the door. People are just copying each other's comment for the likes 😂

i think the position in which the a-train puppet was at the start of the episode possibly foreshadows his death at the end of the season

I feel like if they didn't nerf starlight with her powers on the fritz she would've wiped the floor with the deep. But her digging her fingers into the deep like Homelander would was SO satisfying. I'm also glad the writers remembered that she had super strength too.

Me commenting on last weeks video: "I don't get this new Black Noir. He's a Supe, with all Noirs powers, hiding the fact he can fly, perfectly happy pretending to be another Supe in order to be in the Seven, instead of wanting to be in the Seven as himself. Maybe he couldn't join because there is something wrong with him? Or he was involved in some scandal?" This weeks episode: he has narcolepsy. Me: "AHA!!! I knew there was something wrong with him- wait, aren't people going to realise he keeps falling asleep all the time, which Noir has never done before??? Who picked this guy to replace Noir? Why this specific guy??? Just because he's an actor??? That makes NO sense." Now I have more questions and no explanation. Also, I'm wondering if Ryan has multiple Ryans, like Homelander has. One minute, he's drinking milk and looking deranged as though he might laser someones kneecaps for fun. The next he's uncomfortable with the crazy racist Christmas Special. Then he gets psycho googly eyes at the thought of being an all powerful elite superior being. Then he's just a little kid that misses his mum. Maybe the kids just a really good actor and thats making me think theres more going on in Ryans brain than we realise.

Noir is a valued member of the seven. The seven want to show everything is going fine, they don't want to lose members. Everytime they lose someone they have to come up with fake stories and big funerals etc. But Noir is always masked so he can be secretly replaced. Perhaps they also did it because Homelander likes Noir so much. He just wants another person exactly like Noir. If the replacement went as himself he'd be in more danger because he'd interact with homelander for real. Probably this guy is simply chosen because he is really quite poweful so he is someone who can keep up with the 7, perhaps even with Homelander.. And he is already an actor, so that's perfect to replace someone.

@@kedrednael true, but seeing as Homelander was the one that murdered Noir I’d be reluctant to pretend to be him, unless of course they lied about how he died and the New Noir doesn’t have a clue that Homelander killed him. I think that’s probably the case.

This episode was crazy lol, love it, the end was a mad twist....

I don't feel like its unreasonable to assume that Kessler will take over Butchers body for good and become the evil butcher portrayed in the comics. He could be a huge antagonist in S5 as they try to defeat or save him from his own mind.

Man they made it seem that the stand in black noir was just as invulnerable as Homelander but not sure if it’s because of the armor he’s wearing but I doubt that would stop Gatling gun bullets
