Hi folks, new subscriber here! Just wanted to give you a huge thumbs up. Unlike many other van life channels you guys are super real. I love that your videos are such a genuine account of your daily experiences. I even love how they are not super professional. Makes it even more real. Hope it's ok to say this, but like you, I think, I suffer from anxiety, so a lot of your struggles chime with me. I really love your van, the work you have done is top notch and you have some clever ideas which you've executed really well. Question for Mitch, if you have time. I'm in the process of converting my van. I'm pretty good with electrics and think I have it all worked out. It turns out that my planned system is almost identical to yours. I decided to go with a separate mains battery charger and inverter with a manual transfer switch. Plus my other parts of the system are the same or similar to yours. I was wondering if you had made a circuit diagram when you were planning it, and if possible, could you share it? I'd love to check it against my own work. I'm really looking forward to following your travels. If you are ever in Croatia, I live just over the Velebit mountains inland from Zadar, in Gracac. I have plenty space for your van with power and water, you'd be very welcome to stop for a spell. It would be fab to meet you and show you around this beautiful part of the world filled with dramatic landscapes, rivers, lakes, mountains and of course the coast. All the very best, Rod

Hi - I'm a new subscriber. Great videos!! I'm building a camper van this year so I'm really watching everything about the layout of yours. We need to do things a little differently but I really admire what you've done with yours. In ours, we are sleeping north-south instead of east-west because my husband likes to sleep with the head of the bed tilted up and I like to sleep flat. So we're having a custom made set of beds side-by-side where we can each pick our angle at any time. I want the head of my bed tilted up if we're watching a movie so it will all work out, hopefully. It will seem like one bed when we're at the same angle. Nice and close. Our kitchen will run along the sliding door on the U.S. passenger side. Most of the counter top area on the right of the sink will be a counter that hides the toilet and shower. We'll lift up a cover when needed to open the toilet/shower space and use a shower curtain for the top exposed half of the toilet/shower. The lower part will be accessed through a little door. Our front seats will swivel and give room for a laguna table to share. The craziest (most unique) part of the build is that we will be carrying a stand alone digital piano on the side behind the U.S. driver seat. When we aren't using it, a board will cover the top of it to provide more counter space for the kitchen. It's my piano and I decided that I couldn't live without it so it's coming along. 🙂 We aren't going to do all this ourselves. You guys are amazing for being able to do it all. We are subcontracting bits and pieces of the work. We will spend a lot more money than you did, but I think it will be economical to design it ourselves and then hire people for this bit and that bit. I'm watching so many of your videos to see what the life is like. We aren't as adventurous as you guys and we won't be going from one country to another, but I am pretty sure that the lifestyle of being in the van day after day will suit us very well. We're also buying a tent that docks onto the sliding door of the van so that we can call periods of time as holidays/vacations and stay put in an camping park for a couple of weeks at a time with more space. The way the docking works is that the van and the tent will be one continuous space. We're buying the tent from a company in the UK. Thanks for your videos - they are definitely helping us out as "future camper van" people who plan to live in the van full time!!

How do you do with the language issues? Were you able to communicate it each of these crossover locations? I was stressed, watching Martha being stressed. 😂 you’re lucky they didn’t go through your van. That would’ve been a hassle. Why do you have to get a new Sim card in Turkey?

are you using diesel heater?or electric?if electric how long can you run it with snow?(if its on solar?)

  • @TheJammyGits

It's a combi boiler, so we run hot water and heating through it, usually on through our diesel tank, however sometimes if we're hooked up to power we will change it to use electricity, never off solar though.
