The Deer Hunter is a tough sit. I've never finished it, it feels like it's ten tedious hours long. I found The Thin Red Line easier to enjoy (in fact, I have seen and liked it more than once).

I tried to watch it a few months ago and couldn't get into it. Then he brings up Lost Highway and I am adopting his opinion on recommending movies and tv.
