If they did a prequel, I feel like it would be Trautman’s story - some secret mission infiltrating a Soviet installation or whatever. He loses a few good men, gains his colonel rank, blah blah. Then, he returns to Fort Bragg to start recruiting a new team for the next mission. He spies a young, fresh faced cadet, getting his ass kicked by a group of soldiers. The fight ends, and after the victorious group walks away, . Trautman approaches the young and bleeding private. Trautman asks the kid what his name is, but the kid doesn’t answer. Trautman examines his dog tags, and a quick view of them flashes on the screen for the audience to see. Trautman looks back to the kid, throws him a red bandana, telling him to wrap it around the cut on his head, then tells him “Son, how would you like to learn how to draw first blood?” Roll credits.

It's really not cartoonish violence though. It's brutal, human bodies do can turn into mush. I think it's one of the better ones. Last blood was kind of whack, it was a cliche disappointment type movie
