I've actually been using this grip for over a year now. I thought I was being original :/. I came up with it because my index finger was too short to get a solid pinch on distance drivers, so it was just slowing down rotation. People are always baffled when they see me throw. It has been great for me, and I wouldn't call it a band-aid because it's here to stay. I never have to think about nose angle or grip pressure. Sounds great, huh. For reference, I am capable of 450+ on a golf line, so it's not just a quick fix for newer players or slower arm speeds. Try it!!
