That front is just pure 90´s tribute. Squary shape i love. The most beautiful BMW and the best looking sedan for me

Lets not forget its got real buttons, a normal kidney grill, and bless them - no intrusive driver aids! Good work beemer.

I remember 15 years ago when I first learned how to drive sedans like this were hitting 100kph in 4.5 - 5 seconds and I thought that was insane. Even super cars at the time (Gallardo’s, F430’s, DB9’s) took 4 seconds. It’s crazy to think that now family cars can do it in the same time as the original Veyron.

The difference is when an option becomes standard its price will significantly be lower because of mass production and the production line getting less complex

Edit: The next gen M5 is still some years to go before being unveiled and not before the next gen 5 series which is probably going to be unveiled in 2023.

Had a lap of the Nurburgring yesterday in this car, and wow just wow, this has to be the best M car ever. You would not believe a near two tonne, four door saloon could accelerate, brake and go round corners like this thing does, especially when your driver has had 25 years experience of the Nordschleife. Awesome, a word that is very over used, but absolutely correct in this instance. Congratulations BMW, you nailed it with this one.

What a car. My Dad had an M5 when I was a kid, god bless him. This M5 CS is just mental 2.88 0-60 wow ! Car Wow 👍

So basically the Competition is what the standard M5 should have been & the CS is what the Comp should have been.

The standard M5 does 0-62 in less than 3,5 seconds. The M5 Competition is a few tenths of a second faster, destroying it’s main competitor (the E63s). This car is a sub 3 second car, which is literally Lamborghini Aventador territory. So no. The M5, the Competition and the CS are exactly what they need to be

My favourite BMW after the E24 M635CSi which I own. Would love one of these in Brands Hatch metallic with gold brake callipers. By the way, Mat, the “gold-not-gold” you spoke of is actually called ‘gold-bronze’ by BMW M. Absolutely awesome car. This was a fantastic and enthusiastic review of the M5 CS, Mat. So glad you love the car as much as I do. Hope to get behind the wheel of one myself someday.

also ask yourself a question, are you going to track it? If not, where would you even use it's full power? Don't know where you live, but in Poland for example you get more and more unmarked police cars on highways. So big nope. And if someone's gonna buy the M5 either way, they rather don't think that much about how much it is worth if compared to lower trims. So, there is no clear answer to "is it worth it", as it is way too individual

I have enjoyed all the reviews and the drag races that you did about M5. I am convinced that it is the best M BMW produced . So when you want to run fast like a PORSCHE, the price are in accordance. Thank you MAT for this detailed review.
