The Blaydon Race 2024 Event Footage!
An absolute staple of the North East running calendar, The Blaydon Race has been taking in the 5.8 miles from Newcastle's Quayside to Blaydon since 1981.
The route takes in some of the roads and places named in the song from which the event takes its name..The Blaydon Races! A true Geordie anthem, and a true Geordie race. For the first time ever, the event participants were decided by a ballot system and was full of running clubs.
No medals here, but the infamous finishers t-shirt and a Geordie supper more than made up for that! It was also another chance to bump into the absolute character and beacon of positivity that is ‪@AlPepperRuns‬
