Loved watching this! My Grandpa used to build jalopies back in the 1920's. He would trade his rifles and things for the cars, when the college kids would go back to school after working the farm on summers. When he was 13 years old, he had 13 Fords! When he was in high school, he had a build that easily evaded the local sheriff, but... living in a small town, that sheriff knew who he was, haha. Lots of great stories,... watching you build this Rat let me imaging what kinds of things my Grandpa did, back in the day. Appreciate you sharing! Patience and ingenuity... defines both of you.

I want to do this for my kids before I can't do it at all. I have a Volkswagen beetle body and a 1939 Dodge D11 chasiss. Our engine is from a 1974 AMC Ramble straight 6. I have a 1.5 ton Dodge front end and a solid 70s rear end with plenty of old farm machine parts. I will call it my BUDGE! Thank you for making this seem far more easier than I imagined. I really enjoyed watching your build. I definitely learned a few things, the way that you set that stirring column, I got a better understanding of the master cylinder under the floor board, the liquid molding(I had to look that stuff up and save it for future builds), and many more. That is definitely a master piece. Great job, Bob!!

What a build! Good job you son of a gun. Remind me of Uncle Jesse on the Dukes of Hazard. Don't worry about the thumbs down they just hating because they have no vision and can not recognize natural talent and skills.

This video has been in my que for about three weeks and I refused to watch it, until my grandson was watching videos with me and he wanted to watch it. I was thoroughly entertained. My grandson liked the puppet, which he called it a robot. Although I'm not a fan of rat rods or Chevys, I liked some of the things you did, especially with the spider web theme.

I hear ya .. some of the Rat Rods out there are just that. I guess this one is on a fine line between "Rat Rod" and "Hot Rod" . Not too ratty but still cheap to build. Tell you grandson he has good taste!

You are a artist. It's a pleasure to watch a true artist create a masterpiece. You take a idea that you see and feel and build that idea. I can feel, (possibly)exactly ( at least I hope that I do ) what you feel inside that moved you to make that idea a physical and emotional reality. It's really something! A true artist has a gift of being able to make a emotion a physical thing. ( When a person looks at a hand crafted object you created by hand that generates emotional feelings by the act of physically looking at your idea.) Amazing!! You my friend are a true artist and I thank you for the awesome time I have watching you build this rat rod. I was able to just let the world and the stress of life disappear for a hour. Awesome 👍

amazing work, your ability to take junk scrap metal and turn it into a running and driving hot rod is truly inspiring. Im 25 years old currently and working on building a tubbed 4 link v8 powered datsun 260z, never done anything like this before but love welding and fabricating its cool building something from scratch with your hands vs just buying something and bolting on aftermarket parts like most people do.

If you can imagine it ... you can do it! But you first have to have that picture in your mind what is looks like ... down to the finest detail! I start with the big picture in my mind then work on how to make it happen. Good luck! Oh .. buy the way ... I have a few videos on four link builds you might want to check out! The Demon Falcon has a parallel 4 link while the 31 Chevy has the triangulated!
