I would like to thank you Ian I've watched you since you started out over the many years and I have gained so much knowledge and inspiration from you witch has gave me alot of new skills and helped mould me into a great car builder for that I thank you... I know your set on painting the zephyr but please consider doing a patina build to preserve that clean body and the ageing it's done very well over the years clear it and give it some pin stripes give it the justice it deserves my friend please 👌😎

In the summer of 1938, my Dad's buddy Lenny had a 37 Lincoln Zephyr. Along with two other friends they drove that thing all over Wisconsin, pals on the road, no cares in the world. Destined to fight in the infantry in Normandy in 44, he always looked back on that summer as priceless.

The 1937 Zephyr is a real life, honest classic. It is a big, classy, and almost "In-your Face" design. Your choice of wheels and the slight lowered stance only enhance the appearance of the car. I always loved the front design, but this is one of the few cars of this era that I find the sedan version more attractive than the coupe. The Zephyr coupe is built on the same wheelbase, which results in a rear deck that appears to be out of proportion to the rest of the body. However, the resulting long trunk will comfortably hold 14 teenagers when sneaking into the drive-in. My older brother had a '37 coupe back in the late 1960s which he occasionally let me borrow for a weekend... The car drove like a dream with a smooth ride. The builder had used the original V-12 engine to restore another Lincoln and replaced it with a 1956 Olds out of a Super 88. The 240 HP V8 moved the car at a pretty good clip. The engine later developed a rod knock and he found a 1958 Pontiac and swapped the 4-barrel 370 engine to gain 45 horsepower.

Look. Measure. Paper template. Cut. Fit. Grind. Fit. Weld. Measure. Grind. Weld. Grind. Look. Repeat. ...and THAT'S how you get the new headlight switch to fit in the dash - like it belongs. The car looks soooo fine. The original body lines with the chassis mods and drop suspensions - front and rear. Now "That's Entertainment". Thanks for sharing ! ! !

The enthusiasm you and Jamie bring to the build is infectious. The hard work (and tedium) of the suspension math are paid off with the installation. I like you don't resort to lasers for lining up the body parts. Just grab that 9 pound hammer and roll buddy roll. Thank you for another fun episode.

I have been enjoying the progress on the Zephyr, but today when you mocked it up with the grille and hood, I really fell in love with it. Then you say you are putting it in storage for a while! No! Not now! One of the things that really grabbed me today was the awesome patina that the car has. I can’t imagine any paint job that could make it look better than the way it looks now! It would be a shame to mess with what Mother Nature has taken all these years to produce. Have a great weekend.

So been racing dirt stock cars for over fourty years.I've have many wins multiple championships, a ton of stories for most of them. Since I was a small boy my father tells a story about his one and only win.. In a Lincoln Zypher. The original 12 cylinder was nit available so he installed a flat head six. During the race the voltage regulator came loose jammed the throttle wide open. He continued to race not backing off, just hold the car on track barely. To eventually take a win. The other drivers wanted to see the v12 post race. Only to see the little six list in the engine compartment. Had the throttle not gut stuck my dad's sure he'd never have won. My father's still alive, just turned 89.what a great story.. Just wanted to share. Great build choice.. I love all your projects.. Looking forward to seeing this one completed.. God bless.
