Vanity mega-projects are tough commercial propositions (just ask Dubai). The Sphere is in a sweet spot of being aesthetically unprecedented but developmentally iterative, given Vegas’s long history of high-traffic mega-projects.

Dubai being a tourist destination makes me laugh. If the country was not ya know, ran by strict theologians then I would understand it as the go to destination. Yet it is a Muslim country with all of their laws. Sorry, I don't care how beautiful the city is or becomes. I'm not going to make it my go to destination, ever. I am admittedly speaking from ignorance, but unless I have actual business there I'd never visit.

@@dianapennepacker6854IF you are a tourist you are not normally under the same rules as a citizen. There are tourist zones where they let normal stuff fly. It is similar to the red light district of the early 20th century NYC. With that said, I agree with you. Why would I want to visit a place where I am under paranoia if I am in the right place doin the right thing. I think in due time Dubai will either crumble and not attract tourist or there will be a cultural change. Right now the monarch there is simply trying to outspend the reality they place on the people who live there and in some cases actually build the mega projects. Basically, it is the physical manifestation of a ponzi scheme if it were a state. Admittedly, this can be said for a lot of countries...

@dianapennepacker6854 the fact you speak from ignorance is proof enough you shouldn't speak at all. All countries have laws. Nothing wrong with Dubai's laws.

Thank you John and your team for all the very informative videos you've shared this year. The quality of your media and the information is astounding. We're truly lucky to have people like you on KZread.
Your videos 😃 are Really So Informative!!! Great job Man !
The Vegas Sphere is amazing, it will go down in history as one of the greatest buildings ever constructed.

I like the sphere, it's pure sci fi made reality. Not much of an impact compared to mars colonies or in-head huds or growing new limbs but still really cool.
As someone who works at a worker coop: I find this LED sphere very awesome.
Good work John and team~
Anyone know what the posters are in his background?
“His band is a surprising success, opening for bands like the Eagles”… but, you know-in venues he owns.
The sphere should and could have only been built in Vegas. The various proposals to build smaller versions in "normal" cities are insane. The UK proposal included an offer to supply next door residents with heavy blackout curtains.
I recently discovered your channel, watched a handful of videos, and learned a lot. I know a lot of work goes into these videos. Thank you for your effort. I look forward to 2024. Happy New Year in advance!
Awesome thank you John and your team as always very informative. Please do one about Larry Fink.
His tf were we supposed to know he was talking about Harvey from then 5 lines 🤣🤣
I own a part of that building
Why does he own the teams though if you himself say he does not care about them at all
Interesting and well-done video!
underground cable was "ground breaking" innovatiion - no pun intended?
Well done. Great story telling. He should hire you to do his publicity.
Apparently dubai saw it and want to make a bigger one

We have had the Globe Arena in Stockholm since 1989, now with the new name Avicii Arena. I think it has been the worlds largest spherical building before 2023.
Amazing content!🎉🔥🔥🔥
Cool, let's all become a multi-billionaire. God bless.
As a journalist and editor i must say : Excellent video 💯💯💯💯
1 billion in operating income and 3m in net income - is that a mistake? 3m in profit per year does not make a billionaire dynasty (6:25)
I have no desire to go back to Las vegas, doesn't matter what they build there!
Vaste of resources
Great videos
I bet he put his own rocket inside the Rockets.
He also uses face recognition to ban plaintiff lawyers from MSG to dissuade people from suing the stadium for being injured
I have heard reports the Sphere is losing money. It would be interesting to see info on that and projection of success or failure of the project. I think your narration feels more natural in this release.

Might lose money now due to the delays of its final construction but with the Super Bowl around the corner and many new resorts and new baseball stadium being constructed, the losses are just tax write offs. Ultimately he wants to build that type of venue across the globe and provide a new type of venue for artists to express themselves. I’m curious what the electricity bills is like tho
Billion dollars definitely can’t buy looks!

Why is this video seem like a whole advertisement for the guy like what is going on?
The sphere reminds me that our society has twisted priorities. Overthrow the bourgeoisie.
Cool
Ah yes The Vegas Sphere With BRAINWASHED MACHINES INSIDE IT
China is building it's own sphere for a third of the price 😂
And why don’t you add that the Sphere is also going bankrupt? Beautiful yes but unsustainable.
The sphere is the modern day version of the library of Alexandria

They should start making live concert shows of dead musicians and have concerts. They could also use it for corporations to create some sort of “overview of their company” video so they can fly everyone out for conventions this ensures they don’t hate their jobs as much.
I can see the sphere everyday and night right from my house. It's really.cool but I will say..I never see anything going on there
It's almost as cool as it was when I dreamt it up back in 1993.

they should put solar panels in the parking space
As a Knick fan I hate this dude with a passion 😂 I hope he loses all his money on this project and sells the team.

Normally JC’s videos are informative, but this one is seriously devoid of anything worthwhile.
The sphere is undoubtedly a technological marvel. But the execution and it's place in the wider cultural landscape will not age well.
Knicks don't have the highest pay roll and not signing Jeremy Lin was a great idea. Not a knicks fan but your facts are pretty all over the place.
I like your vids but you always tend to add 10min of rambling unrelated to actual point of the video. The whole backstory of his dad and business struggles could have been a minute but you made it 8min long. A lot of your videos tends to have this giant filler in the middle that isn't interesting nor related to the point. Keep it up tho
It looks amazing
