The Bikeriders performance-heavy and story-centered. I was surprised, pleasantly surprised. Even the supporting characters were well-written and performed.

Thanks for the great review! I saw it Friday and loved it. The only point where I will disagree with you is that I actually thought Nichols got the soundtrack just right. It was authentically 1960s without using iconic biker songs such as Born to Be Wild or Leader of the Pack that might have distracted from the movie and seemed a bit cliche. Instead, Nichols chose a lesser known song by The Shangri-Las called "Out in the Streets," which was lyrically perfect for the story he was telling. I also love that he included blues songs by Bo Diddley (Road Runner) and Muddy Waters (Mannish Boy).

You got point. I just think it was understated. Maybe I needed some Beach Boys or Grateful Dead.

@@PLOTTHICC I get that. I guess it was the opposite of an American Graffiti sort of soundtrack.
