NBC began broadcasting TV way back in 1939, and in 1947, the National Broadcasting Company became the world's first "regularly operating television network." So they've been around a long time - which also means they've had plenty of time to get mired in a lot of controversies.
For instance, there was the firing of Matt Lauer, which also got them caught up in the Harvey Weinstein debacle. Then there was Biran Williams and his fake helicopter attack, Tom Brokaw's "okay Boomer" comments about Hispanics, and that time they burned the Puerto Rican flag on Seinfeld. Throw in the character assassination of Richard Jewell, editing Geroge Zimmerman's 911 call, and more, and it's hard to pick among the biggest scandals to hit NBC.

What is wrong with what Brokaw said?I get so sick of the US being the place everyone wants to go but holds it to different rules than every other country.Every country says that you have to learn the language to become a citizen and thats ok but the US cant.Its wrong.

It's no surprise to me that a news reporter lied about news stories
On the Matt Lauer issue, NBC had to have known because of the installation of the door button.
Haven't watched any of these networks in years. Not missing out on any good shows.

AS far as Brokow and Spanish goes. Well my step brother was sent home from from a Catholic school in Detroit in 1935. Not because there were no teachers that spoke Italian. "Because this is the US and English is the language of the land." So my mother had to teach him English. She 1st generation Italian should have known better. My grandmother was hear 55 years and never learned Italian. Her husband of course did, he learned English in Italy. That is why he was a foreman in a coal mine. My grandmother always wanted to go back to the old country. Grandpa was proud of his American citizenship.

Go to any bar in the united states and you will find women grabbing a guys butt all the time. How come that's not a big deal but if a guy does it, it's sexual assault? I've known guys who have asked security to make the fat girls stop doing it but they would just laugh and call them gay. Such a double standard

There is no official language in the US. That said, I too think every non-native English speaker coming to live in the US should learn it and use it publicly.
I would like to see a video on Eddie Haskell. He was my favorite. He did a great job of playing the character of a real jerk.

The puerto rican flag episode was funny as heck and people are too sensitive. Also the whole "hispanics need to assimilate" is nothing wrong. As a hispanic man I even get bothered when I walk into an establishment and automatically is spoken to in spanish. Like atleast try to speak it and if I see your struggling I'll change it to spanish and thats that. Here in south florida its a BIG PROBLEM!

What is wrong with learning the primary language of a country. When my grandfather came to America b4 WWI he didn’t speak an ounce of English. He learned though and unfortunately didn’t teach his kids English. English was the only language spoke in the home. But when I visited Poland I started to leant and only a small group of Poles I encountered spiked Polish so I started to learn. If I had stayed 30 days vs the 9 days I did I would have learned learned the Polish language in order to communicate with everyone. Doesn’t mean you abandon your native language

When you look at Harvey Weinstein 3:55 that guy couldn't get a date with a two-legged, one-eyed sow without threatening it with a bazooka .... or a movie career. It is really scary when a mutant like him wields so much power.
Tom Brokaw did nothing wrong Latinos should work harder at learning English.that's the national language if we go to another country we have to learn their language to be able to communicate...and why is it when you go to a hospital or something you see instructions and signs in both English and Spanish what about the otherlanguages that's why Latino should learn English cuz it's not fair to everyone else

I have no issues with anynationality coming to this country I'm Italian my ancestors were immigrants.... What they learn the language... That's all I'm saying is learn the language

You have the sign in English and then right next to it it's in Spanish... No place I've ever been to head 20 different signs in twenty different languages... I'm just telling you what I've seen
