Photoshop has been here for a long time. And people have been using it even before AI. Why would something like that matter now and not before? Yeah, with AI it is a lot easier but almost every social media posts are altered in some way or another. Even phone camera apps are doing some software magic to make it look better. Where should be the line between real and fake?

That is exactly what I used to imagine Photoshop and other creational software are like when I was a child. You simply tell them what to do, and they do it. I literally thought the same for how CGI in movies were made. And now we're coming closer and closer to that point.

I think I'll be using this new feature mainly to remove distractions that other tools can't easily handle. When I I took a recent photo of a group of musicians from a side angle, I couldn't avoid including the legs of audience members seated nearby. No matter what I did, the content aware tool didn't work, so I struggled for quite a while using the remove tool and the clone tool to extend the wood panel flooring from where the musicians were seated to replace the distracting audience legs. Yesterday, without entering any instructions, generative AI produced, in a matter of seconds, smoothly aligned wood flooring that fit in perfectly, much better than what I had previously done. Amazing.

Just so sad to see that people doesn`t have a clue of what this will lead to. And instead celebrating and cheering.. Well for us doing high end photography, this is the beginning of the end. Who bothers to look at a real photography from a place I used a lot of money to go to, and did a great job on the location, and then a post processing that took years to learn.. when people can just type in what kind of picture they want, in to for instance midjourney.. and the picture that comes out looks great and better than almost all photographies. Don`t even need a camera. Soon you can snapshot a crappy picture with a phone, and then put it in the a.i. and tell it what you want, then your crappy picture suddenly looks highly proffesional. Soon this will be the case for music too! Good luck to all artistry and creativity killed by technology. One of the most important joys for humanity is to create and be creative. In these sick days we live in, it is good to destroy this too. Unmesh is celebrating too. Even him, as a high level expert in photoshop, will also soon enough be obsolete. How awesome will that be? Because this "evil" a.i. cancer has just began...

Great tutorial as usual! Two things strikes me: Why there's still that 1024 px limitation (knowing that already are models for upscaling) and why in the name of Zeus the freaking hands are so complex to create, when as "objects" are far more simple than "suitcase chrome wheels reflecting on a stone polished floor". Having said that, as you mentioned, this is the most incredible update Photoshop had since "layers and multiple undos", and given that this is my 30th year as a photoshop user, this is no small feat.
