The Biggest Model I've Ever Built! Morser Karl Gerät 040 (Trumpeter 1/35)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
My friends, it's no mystery that BIG models always look impressive! This one has been on my radar since I was a young kid playing the strategy PC game Blitzkrieg. My parents actually surprised me with the Dragon kit when I was 15 or 16, but I never finished painting it, and, eventually, it ended in the trash bin. Let's consider this a redemption build!

Build a plane kit. It would be awesome!

Only if he weathers it like he does tank models. Mud caked around the wheels, copious amounts of Grease, and tons of weathering.

There is a wartime photo of a Mosquito that had flown through a fireball burning off most of the paint to reveal the wood underneath. Now that would look awesome

*_N O !_* But in all seriousness, he’s stated that he doesn’t want to because it’s not his style.

Honestly, I build more planes than anything, though I obviously love vehicles, figures, and ships. A Night Shift aircraft would be brilliant!
I find it quite funny how this model alone is as big as my biggest diorama 🗿 Anyway the level of details and realism is already incredible 🔥

If he does a diorama of this I'd have to watch it thrice just to believe he did it.

Hi
Still ready every Friday for the new video! 😁 It just keeps getting better and better :)
I always feel threatened in a way when he shows his "very bad 16 year old kits"...
Firstly, that would look simply beautiful in a big diorama on the steppes! Secondly, I have a suggestion for, perhaps a scratch build project…

@@Pint-Painters The BIS lunar lander, a space ship designed for a lunar stay of 2 weeks for 3 men. It wouldn’t be dainty or flimsy like the actual lunar module, it’d be the sort of thing you can bang your fist on. Plenty of rivets to pin wash, plenty of interior detail to add. Here’s a nice picture of the schematic: pbs.twimg.com/media/D1KcXeIW0AAiYBf.jpg

@@captainramius5047 that looks cool, but a retro moon rocket build has to be the tintin one, sorry! xD

@@cravinghibiscus7901 Fair enough, But I think the BIS one is more practical, despite being more than 40 foot tall

“My friends” never gets old 😂
You've probably been asked to do this a bajillion times already, but I'd *love* to see you tackle a Warhammer tank kit, while applying all the cool superdetailed modelling tricks and such! I think it'd turn out beautifully. Love your work!

Would love to see him do a Leman Russ or, even better, a Basilisk
Finally a new video from Martin. I missed it.
Seeing this made my day perfect!!
Ahh...a fellow Blitzkrieg enjoyer, i also really liked that game.
What a way to start the year! I'm totally psyched to see this one come together!
Night Shift is back, fantastic 😊
Stunning job as always. Can’t wait to see it painted. 👍👍👍
YESS this looks like an AWESOME project, can't wait for how this one will turn out
Been looking forward to this one. It looks like a monster. You're a brave man. Can't wait to see the painting video.
As someone who really likes the look of the Gerat anyway, and loves your modelling work, this combined with it being a huge kit is a heck of a combo! Looking forward to seeing how this goes!
Michtoy is my regular store. Love seeing them advertised on my favorite channel!
Great project - I love it!!! Thank you very much for building this vehicle!
Great to see you back in action Martin. I love your choice of kits to announce your return to another year of modelling ❤😊
Happy New Year Buddy and thanks for the awesome video and model.
Welcome to a new year... please keep up the excellent modeling!!
I started modeling at the beginning of last year and watching your videos has made the quality of my builds skyrocket. Love the videos and appreciate the work and dedication you have for the craft! 😎
100% worth the wait! This is an absolute unit of a kit, I can see why it took a while to build, it looks great. This would turn into a monster of a diorama, can’t wait!
Awesome!, great to see you back. Have a great year. =)
Happy New Year, Master. And thanks for bringing this Beast (tired of just looking at the work...)
what an awesome beast to build! and perfect timing too, seeing as i JUST got my Karl kit just last week. really looking forward to seeing the monster getting paint
What a great platform to show off your skills in bringing this to life. Bravo.
Great! You're back Uncle. Fantastic modelling. Love the way you sand, fill and surface your projects, super inspiring for us mere modelling mortals. Canit wait to see the painting.
Happy New Year, Martin! That's some serious styrene you got there, muh friend! Looks awesome!
Holy smokes! Impressed. Can't wait for the weathering
No words, awesome. Friday best moment on the week. Thanks for your work and vids
Looks incredible already, can’t wait to see it with paint on.
super cool! I'm looking forward to the painting and weathering post.
Absolutely fantastic job! Happy New Year my friend. Your videos always astound me.
Thank you! This model is on my bucket list.
Oh my life!!!! Just stunning Martin!!! The kit looks wonderful, the work you put in to it superb and the quality of the finish awesome!!👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wow, that mortar is really going over the top. Impressive work once again.
I love 1/35 scale for the amount of details. Looks really impressive.
one of the coolest builds ive seen! thanks for sharing
Great looking build! I've been binging on your videos daily and re-watching the same ones multiple times. Your amazing work inspired me to take a break from aircraft modeling and start building tanks. I've learned so much from your techniques, thank you!
Awesome build!
Perfect timing! I’m building the newer Trumpeter kit, but with the railroad transport system. Learned a lot already! Thanks, Uncle Night Shift!
Outstanding job, so far. Can't hardly wait for the next one.
Your skill is very impressive especially like your dioramas, where you build walls etc. Learned so much, when I modeled wish I'd known some of the thinks you do, outstanding!
Thank you ... I really love your builds ...
Beautiful, detail, and details. Great job
Brilliant - I've just purchased this myself!
As mentioned, it truly is three entire kits rolled into one. I am really looking forward to the coming steps on this one!
a surprise but a welcome one. What a cool build can’t wait to see how this one will turn out.
Always a joy to watch. Thanks.
My boi is back. And I'm drooling over this build!
Happy new year night shift the model looks great can’t wait for the next part
i never thought that uncle nightshift would buy this monstrosity!, good luck on this one man!
Good lord, what a behemoth! Can’t wait to see how much paint this gobbles up lol. Always impressed, with how crispy clean your construction phase is.
That thing is massive! Going to look great when you are done with it.
Nice work you really go after it
When you mentioned something big in the last video, I was betting it'll be propably 1:16 model. But this, this is way more impressive even. I'm super curious how you balance painting such huge model with your attention to detail.
Martin, I've been watching your tutorials for over 2 yrs now and have learned so much and I thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent. I've been a modeler since 1971. Fell out of the hobby long enough to be surprised at the various tools, aftermarket parts, and supplies that are now available. Watching your videos helps me utilize those products properly to turn out a fine project. Soon I'll be building my first ever Tiger. Any suggestions for a manufacturer would be helpful. ( leaning towards purchasing a kit by Takom) Again, I thank you for sharing and I certainly look forward to watching more of your talents expressed on KZread.
This I'm looking forward to seeing finished!
great assembly, you motivated me to mount mine which has been in my stock for years ;)
Wow what a gun and awesome build as always my friend
Blitzkrieg was a legit epic game! I'd almost forgotten about it until seeing this video! Lovely model as always
Welcome back, happy holidays Uncle Nightshift!
Happy new year to you also, sir. Love your work, really inspiring.
Hi my friend. Very nice work in this Morser. I made this kit from Trumpeter many years ago and it is a very good model but needs careful work. Keep up your great work.
Looks incredible man
This is amazing!
Killer job, mah friend!
As usual with your works 'amazing' and thank you for your ideas for the rivets and many more Congratulations from a Spanish 🇪🇸 Swiss🇨🇭 modeler living in France near Switzerland 🇨🇭
great build, looking forward to the final result. tempted to pick this up to go with my 1/72 dora railway gun (hobby boss).
Best start to the year possible
This one's going to be EPIC!!
Good to see you back
Good to see you back! I knew you were coming back with a big model, and was surprised it wasn't the new 1/16 M4A3E8 Sherman by Andy's Hobby Headquarters. Would love to see you tackle that kit!
Thanks for teaching me stuff 👍😁😀
Ahhhh....Blitzkrieg lot of time, even now, my favoritte game "verschanz und bereit". Great work!
This thing reminds me of my Imperial Gaurd Baneblade i assembled in scale. I used your armor texturing guide to make it apear more realistic
I'm so excited, can't wait for the diorama!!
Bloody hell, this thing is a monster! A very impressive monster, even! Makes me think of the 2A3 Kondensator I have still sitting in my stash, waiting...
Very nice work! I'm currently building the early Karl mortar with the rail transport carriages. It's a huge beast of a thing and nearly 90cm long all up. I'm a glutton for punishment as I am also building a BR-52 steam locomotive to go with it!
Your patience for small details is legendary.
looks amazing this little boy
I like how the wheels-up for travelling error implies the mortar slid along on its belly like an otter in the snow
Nice work Mafriend, welcome back.
No wreszcie wróciłeś!!!!!!!😁
Your attention to details is out of this world. I would love to see you doing Big Bertha too!
Amazing work 👍
Happy New Year for you to, i got this beast also in my stash. but i also bougt the pz4 based ammo crane carrier as seen on one of your pictures.
I've just started working on a 1/43.5 scale model of one of the few guns even bigger than this - Schwerer Gustav. It is only after I finished 3D printing all the parts for the gun did I realise the completed model won't fit on my current workbench - the construction could be interesting!
Great assembly!!
Uncle Shift is back with the big artillery!!!
Very impressive!
Woah wasnt expecting THAT
I watched these video's with envy Thank you for sharing
When I first saw the thumbnail I thought you were doing a WH40K model. And holy crap how have I never heard of these things before?
I made a movie in Slovakia called “Behind Enemy Lines” in 2000, worked with some great Slovak modellers - you, my friend are absolutely world-class❤ congratulations on your amazing work 🇸🇰
Aaaah, I remember the Karl from Blitzkrieg as well! A very good if often very frustrating game.
