The Biggest Mistakes Everyone Makes When They Meet The Queen
Ойын-сауық
The Queen of England, Elizabeth II, is one of the world's most interesting figures. 95, at the time of this video's release, she's spent a very long lifetime as the British monarch, and in this time has attended and overseen about sixteen billion dinners, events, and stately occasions. During these happenings, numerous individuals come into contact with the Queen, and thus it's very important that these folks know how to comport themselves in her Royal Presence. As such, the etiquette involved in a meeting with the Queen is incredibly involved, to the point where even other heads of state monkey up the whole business. Here are the biggest mistakes everyone makes when they meet the Queen.

Hi how are you doing pretty ?
One of the best stories about meeting the queen was told by someone who was most excited about doing so -- but forgot to put her cell phone on "silent." As the queen greeted her, her phone rang. The poor woman was mortified until the queen smiled and said, "You should get that, Dear. It might be someone important."

I saw the Queen and Prince Philip while on holiday with my parents in Torquay in 1988 and the Brittiannia was moored in Torbay. The Queen was planting a tree to open the new leisure centre and was dress In beautiful sunshine yellow to match the weather. Then again in Plymouth, the following day where The Queen and Prince Philip carried out a walk about. My daughter was 9 months at the time and a big police officer lifted her up and put her on her shoulders and she didn’t like men, she normally would have roared but not this time, she sat quietly on his shoulders holding onto his helmet, we were so amazed but anxious when he lifted her waiting for the outburst of crying. Two absolutely fantastic days, but a sentimental one as well, as it’s not every day you get the opportunity to see The Queen and Prince Philip and this will always remain at the forefront of my memory and mummy stated that she felt so honoured to see the Queen
She is 95 and yet so energetic and strong her sense of humour too is very incredible long live the queen

Or that she could turn you into a toad!!!
The rule prohibiting touching the queen is actually a very practical one. She meets an average of over 50,000 people a year. She cannot afford to get sick as that would reduce the number of appearances she makes. The more people she has contact with the more likely she is to catch something. This in part is why she almost always wears gloves at such events. It wasn't until fairly recently that it was realized that invading her personal space like so many people have, also increases the risk of illness to her. One of the few items she keeps in her purse is hand sanitizer which she has carried for years.

Really is true. People don't understand, The Queen was raised to be EXTREMELY down-to-earth and normal. Especially since she was never really realistically going to be The Queen, because her Uncle Henry (and his eventual children) were supposed to be The King, and the line to the throne. But he decided to abdicate the throne to marry his divorcee girlfriend, Wallis Simpson. This made Henry's brother and The Queen's father, George, the King, and then he died and she became Queen. They raised The Queen out in the country of Windsor, and she was in the army, fixed and drove cars, was super nice and playful, and was really just a sweet (and non-pretentious) girl.

One of my favorite memories of my first trip to London was seeing both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in public. His Highness's detail held up the bus I was on at the time and I unfortunately didn't get my camera out in time to take a photo. However, that same day, I had just left the Tower of London and Her Majesty was due at a public event up the road. Since I was so far back, the crowd being about five deep in front of me, I took out my camera and held it up over the crowd, hoping against hope. Her car came by and I snapped the picture. You see her profile and you immediately know that's Queen Elizabeth!

Not everything is about the Queen when meeting her. If being invited to a garden party at Buckingham Palace, one is told that the ocassion is about you and not the Queen. She will be intrigued by what you do or did to be invited and we're also told to have fun and enjoy the occassion by Palace staff. Which is something we don't expect to be told. Likewise if the Queen visits your business, it's about your business, not her. The timing thing is to ensure everything runs smoothly. There have and has been occassions when the Queen waits for us: State opening of Parliament and at her own Coronation. It's complete hogwash to assume "the queen waits for no one"

Hi I am well ty
I've read in a few places that she's not too chuffed if people don't bow/curtsey. People made a mountain out of a molehill when Michelle O'Bama put her arm around the Queen. I noticed the Queen responded in kind. She was probably a bit chuffed when one of the Apollo 11 astronauts sneezed on her in 1969 while they toured the world after their return from the moon.
I never got to worry cause I never meet any of them which I'm glad wouldn't know what to say to her majesty I be lost for words but I love admiring her majesty and the work she dose for the our courtyard and the life she lead amazing women.✌✌✌✌✌✌✌🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks
One of my favorites was when Annie Leovitz as was photographing HMQEII in her elegant Knights of the Garter Robes and asked her to remove her tiara as "it was a bit much" Her majesty replied while pointing to the expansive Robes, "and these aren't?"
This Queen is faithful, and an angel of angels has appeared to her, May God increase her safety, give her health and wellness, lasting happiness, and prolong her life with the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, Amen, Lord, answer.

It sounds like you're putting her up for sainthood.
At 1:58 reminds me of Mr. Bean comedy sketch standing in line like here and bowing so hard that his head hits the Queen...KZread : "Meeting Royalty | Funny Clip | Mr. Bean Official"...British people are genius in comedy
Ngl, if I had as much power and influence as her I’d probably make it illegal to touch me or initiate conversations with me too 😂😂
She's passed loved watching this .
Prince Harry does the best bow. He drops head like it's about to fall off, but recovers quickly.

I know. It's just the good manners people use in any formal situation.
Long live the Queen
Where oh where oh where does she keep all of her truly wonderful hats. Are there Books and Museums documenting these items? They can only provide joy to those willing to take time to admire. They are truly marvelous and she is magnificent in them all. The styles are delightfully designed and the colors that match her coat and dress are thrilling! Yes, I love the Royal Family of England! They are all great. Thank you.
I have absolutely no desire to meet the Queen. She is no better than anyone else.

I'm disappointed that there was no mention of the pat on the back Prime Minister of Australia gave the Queen. Literally.

He may have been offering a guiding arm but nevertheless, NO ONE TOUCHES THE ROYAL PERSONAGE. Paul Cheating, from that time forth, became known as the Lizard of Oz.

A lot of these are standard manners that I certainly grew up with especially at my grandparents. Proper etiquette was enforced for better words.
Queen Elizabeth was so cheeky though... i loved when she was meeting the military and she saw her grandson, making them smile by twinkling her smile at them... so naughty...
For a natural demonstrative person it must be difficult not to do what comes naturally to you! Also, for polite and caring people, it’s would be natural to help an elderly person walk down steps. 🙏🙏🙏
She doesn't really appear as stuffy as she seems to be. It is like that walking ahead is more courtesy thing is more than anything else when they let her walk ahead of them. When the president wore sunglasses they may discussed before hand. We don't what it was about. I think there are allowances for some things. She seems like a very sweet lady.

I know in my case my eyes are really sensitive to sunlight, and if I don't wear sunglasses, within a few minutes my eyes turn red and watery. There are enough pictures of President Biden wearing sunglasses when outside that I wonder if he has the same condition.

She cares about the protocols surrounding her in so much as it helps her uphold a certain image. She won't go out of her way to breach protocol and make life living hell for people that are there to oversee the protocol, but she won't have you hunted down if you slightly bend a couple of rules for your convenience.
Simple "be a good citizen and have a manner" toward her majesty, she never file a complaint to anyone unless someone is completely rude towards her or her royal family.
