One of the most popular business myths and the biggest lie that “gurus” lead entrepreneurs to believe about business & business growth? “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”
That’s baloney.
You see, if you're in the pursuit of a business that never feels like work, you're missing the point. That’s because business growth and personal growth happens in the struggle.
Now, I love what I do, and I put in a lot of work. Not all of it is fun all the time. But I live for the days and the moments that make it all worthwhile. While some days I have tasks that I’d rather not be doing, I always look at the bigger picture and take the good with the bad.
The reason why I try to avoid business myths like the saying that you should “never work a day in your life” is because there’s a big difference between a fulfilling job and one that’s easy. If it weren’t a challenge, you’d never learn nor achieve business growth because you’d have no reason to change.
Now, this doesn't mean you should be doing everything in your business. You should certainly be delegating or outsourcing things that are not the highest priority and the best use of your time.
But don't avoid the work or feel like you're a failure because you're putting in a ton of effort and it's not always fun. In fact, embrace that effort you’re putting in because that’s what it takes to achieve anything worthwhile.
Suck it up, count your blessings, and don’t make your goal to “never work a day in your life.”
Avoid all of those business myths. Instead, achieve business growth by living like no one else will so you can live like no one else can.
