The Biggest & Baddest Bonneville Modern Classic! Triumph Scrambler XE Goldline Review in Stunning HD
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Ol’ Man tests the 2022 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE Bonneville Goldline Modern Classic Motorbike and gives the final verdict.
This beautiful Goldline special edition Bonneville motorcycle is a real head turner! The Ol' Man is even tempted but…
We look at the styling, engine, brakes, (forgot to mention the gears, which are perfect!), the suspension, seat, ride height, suitability for taller riders, the exhaust sound (which has an odd rattle), power, torque, usability, practicality, a few accessories, tyres and grip, on road and off-road, modes, tft, handlebars and steering, rideability, handling geometry and setup, petrol tank, fuel economy, build quality, price, and answer some subscribers questions, and eat some chips and a sausage.
This motorcycle review is beautifully filmed in some of the most stunning parts of Wales, near Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall (the tallest in the UK), which you can see in the background of some shots, and with professional audio to capture the true sound of the motorcycle, and of course professional camera equipment as always.
Meanwhile, Darcy has been on a top secret mission while this was being filmed, now he has recovered from Covid, and all will be revealed very soon!

I'd say your taking motorcycle reviews to a whole new level.
A Classic - Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! We must demand thirty seven or more riding modes. The truly bizarre thing is that your wit, dry humor and sarcasm is one of THE things that makes your and Mr. Darcy's channel enjoyable. So it's beyond me how people wouldn't get that. I look forward to every surly bit against overbearing UK licensing oversights and so on : ) From California ~ Ride Forever.
These guys deserve a lot more attention, best motorcycle reviews on yt in my opinion.

Thanks buddy. Much appreciated 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice real-world review that doesn't take itself too seriously which is appreciated. Noticed the camera work and editing has been taken to the next level. Lovely work, thank you.
Good see another bike review ,your reviews are allways honest ,and thorough with a good sense of humour too, keep up the good work, mick
One of the great things about watching the Old Man is how an apparent stereotype of the Big Bad Biker can show such good humor. I bet hes a great guy to have a beer with.
I bought this 2 months ago and it’s amazing. It's an all-round great bike, and I'm very satisfied with both city and long-distance driving. I know the price is enough to buy several Royal Enfield, but the excellent appearance, quality, sound, everything makes me happy. I'm 6 feet tall and I can't get both feet on the ground completely, but I can stop with stability on one foot. It goes without saying that the exhaust heat has been significantly reduced since the Euro 5 model. This bike can be said to be an adv bike in the shape of a scrambler. You can significantly increase your payload with the Unit Garage Pannier, and I am doing just that. The competitors of this bike is neither the RnineT nor the Ducati Scrambler. Comparison should be correct with africa twin, desert x, etc.
Sharp bike with a unique style that draws a lot of jealousy! It appears that the comments are clueless haters ! This is an athletic bike that commands a certain amount of attention when operating! I want one !!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I've watched virtually every Scrambler 1200 review on KZread, and have come back to your XC/XE reviews multiple times. I will likely be picking up an XC next week. I very much appreciate your insight. Thanks.
actually cackled at the irony alert, after watching your videos for years, it still kills me the people that can't figure out the sarcasm. that was brilliant
Irony and humour - I loved this review!
Love your style, man.
"This is the Adventure Bike for cool People" best line ever, great review
This bike really does tick a lot of boxes, underrated all rounder of the future I think
I just find these videos so amusing. 14:50 and the MOTOBOB dig 😂 Oh and I think there was a nice bike in there as well
ROFL The Ol' Man going through the modes! This is absolutely brilliant stuff! Showing the donkey, etc, lol.
Love The Ol' Man's one- liners.. "The adventure bike for cool people." Lol. Yup.
I love your style of making video and also the way you explain everything. Good luck man cheers .
Hilarious stuff those riding mode set ups!...the tank is reminiscent of early Huskys, I like it. Glad Darcy's recovered, looking forward to his upcoming content.
Great review, I appreciate your humour..I think you're right about buying bikes as well, I've been thinking the same.
Nice video! And a reminder of good night from the 2 Ronnies, the best comedy!
I like bikes with the "NO MODE" function myself and what a bonus that the bike you tested comes with the MOTOBOB Knicker accessory 🤣
🤣 MotoBob! Thought you were going to say TMF again! Great review as always! Maybe the XC is for me.
loving the alerts keep them please your my go to channel for honest reviews
Thanks enjoyed the review made me chuckle 😂👍🏻🏍️
Motobob's knickers 🤣 Loved the TMF joke as well. Excellent review, btw
Loved the mode bit, hilarious !!

Is it totally worth it. I am back and forth on that one or the gold line. I think if I got the Mcqueen edition I would almost never go off road. I would get another bike for off road, but would LOVE the Mcqueen edition
Really refreshing video. Good sense of humour, willing to give good advice keeping it light.
Love the Ol'Man reviews
Warning, irony alert! To own a modern motorcycle, you really need two things: a son who's a computer wizard, and a wife who loves to clean things. That way, while your son is sorting out the mess you have made of the display and ride modes, you wife can clean the bike of the dirt it's covered in because of the ridiculously short front mudguard all modern bikes are fitted with. Without these two essential assets, you are limited to a Royal Enfield 350 Classic, which has no ride modes, and a mudguard that actually protects the bike.

Id rather look after the bike abit more by cleaning it a little more than ride a RE 😂 and you dont really need to faff with the rider modes that much just pick one and leave it especially if your just gonna ride it on the road

I absolutely love this channel ! please keep up the humour and irony ! Love it !
Love watching your videos
Loved this review, must be my favorite to date! great stuff guys!
Love the look of this bike. I’m seriously considering this over my GS. Tours are few and far between, now. This would suit my needs, with the odd, 2/3 day tour. Great review, matey.
Lovely review. Really enjoined your points and your delivery. Nice video.
Good review…thorough and the added humor was great. Appreciate the view of you just sitting on the bike so we riders can size up the bike. I’m also 6’2” and often look silly on smaller bikes. I think you fit perfect so that is promising. Thanks again for the review.
Great review, I got a 'non-goldline' one in Feb and currently think it's one of the best I've had (8 months later). I'm about your size, maybe a bit 😬 fatter, and find the bike fits me well. I have to disagree with you and most of the commenters, I LOVE the gold forks, they just shout out 'quality' to me, but that's OK, it's alright to have different opinions. Fantastic bike though, I commend it to the house!
Another great review boss, on bike filming is superb
I love watching, always such a lot of laughs what a brilliant sense of humor top man keep em coming.
Man that bike really fits you well. Love the videos!!!
Great Vid!! Lil bit O comedy mixed in too,, was hilarious. Oh and I like the bike aswell, ive become a massive Triumph fan.
_"Oh dear! Somebody go get Pops! He's stuck on the bike again, messin' wiff the 'lectrics!"_ Man, that's a bu'ful bike. Man, that's a cool vid. Thanks again, S
My god I just spit out my tea when you started with the riding modes. It REALLY feels like that! You spend more time scrolling through the menu than riding. The only riding mode should be in your right hand. Lovely review
Great review, I am looking for a new bike next year and this is on my list.
LMAO during your mode change attempts. I've loved this XE Goldline since it was introduced. Just haven't pulled the trigger so please stop tempting me with the reviews.
It fits you!!! Proper size bike ... Yippee! Totally agree with you over clocks and modes. Agree with the idea of lower pipes but isn't the frame different on one side to cater for the originals ... Isn't it cut out? Would be great to be able to do and get both side luggage ... I still camp and do bike rallies... As I age, I need to take more comforts ... It would then be a competent competitor for the adventure bikes you don't like.
Good gods that's a lovely scram... Too bad there are no dealerships for Triumph, Royal Enfield, BMW, or even Indian or Harley within 150 miles of me! LOL. Oh well. Thanks again for another awesome ride-review, the production quality and honesty in your vids makes them an automatic watch when they come out.
Hi big fella. I am Australian and I stand 6.3 and I am 57. I`ve been riding since I was 12. So I do relate to your videos. I think that Triumph has been building their bikes in Thailand for quite a few years now. But soon they will be producing bikes from the Philippines as well. Cheers
Thank you for the laughs We all need them All of your insights Would make that bike much cooler And better over what they did Take care my friend
Nice bike. Great sound. High pipes are no small feature on a scrambler. We had a 1970 Honda 450 scrambler back in 73. I like 2 modes, stop and go. Clutch, brakes and throttle offer infinite control. I also agree with you re TFT.
“I can flat foot anything” Oh please let that encourage a plethora of memes….😂
Thanks for a good, informative review of the bike. I have one on order, and am very looking forward to taking delivery. Happy Trails

Best Scrambler review ever. Totally agree with wishing there was another option for the TFT but I’m going for it all the same. I’m expecting mine in just a few weeks and have a lot of backcountry exploration planned in British Columbia this riding season.
Loving the irony! More please😆
Superb quality video!
agree with you buddy on all points, to have twin clocks and 3 modes would be such an improvement 👍 love the underseat storage items 🤣
I agree, the TFT is not a good idea here, Triumph should use twin clocks like on the Speed Twin.

I love my tft display. Works perfect plus bluetooth, turn by turn navigation, music, text messages, phone calls, tire pressure monitor, cruise control, heated grips, fuel range, mpg, coolant temp, auto night mode, etc. Try doing all that without a tft.

@@charlesbozonier5713 Don't need navigation..... good sense of direction and I can read a map, the bike should supply the "music", don't text nor phone, don't mind checking my tires, my right wrist provides all the cruise control I need, I own and wear gloves, can keep running fuel concerns in my head, prefer air cooled motorcycles, I can tell when it is night and can turn the lights on. No TFT "stuff" in my life, nor will there be, I have a fully functioning brain.
Glad you added the 'Irony Warnings' for all the jackasses out there. .
Your presentation of of your profile sitting on the bike is something many other omit. Well done.
I like watching your reviews, because at 6'4" I get some idea as to how I would look on these bikes.
Cool looking bike. Great review! Also love the humour 😂💖👍
Good review and I’m in total agreement regarding modes - too many. I’m a proponent of the KISS method - keep it simple stupid… BTW, enjoyed the Two Ronnies reference at the end of the video. Showing my age now. Cheers and safe riding. Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Nice bike lovely review again keep up good work sir
Great bike and one of the best reviews! Please get better soon!
The donkeys in the back are gold. Great review as always. 👍
Nice bike. Excellent video!
The size of the sausage is perfect!)))😂😂😂 Good job Old Man!!
Thanks for the review! Love the color and I totally agree about the clocks. If they could have put the set up from the T120 on it I wouldn’t have been disappointed. Llandovery is a beautiful back drop! Would love to come ride with you some time!!
Great shots of the bike. This thing is absolutely stunning to my eyes. Seems like a great big guy bike, especially for city driving.
From what I can see I love this bike! I agree with only 3 modes but mine would be Start Run & Stop 🤷♂️ but I think I’m really starting to dig Triumphs.
My mate has a touno... It's tech-tastic... I would need one to one tuition just to start it. You chaps are going to make loads of friends... Very funny.
Great review as per usual. Not heard anyone mention the weird steering before. Wonder if it’s tyre pressures or incorrectly adjusted head bearing or something.
Great review informative and entertaining everyone knows they are your pants really 😀
Best bike ever made 😎 👍👍👍
I do really love the look of these and having ridden one I found the brakes and suspension so amazing. The engine is ok, but a bit underpowered and slightly sterile. If these came without Ride modes and without RBW, it would be at the top of my list for bikes to buy.
It’s a do it all bike as it looks, very nice! Great videos as usual!
This bike needs a factory low hung exhaust option.
Really nice video, and lovely county ridings. I enjoy my ridings here in Majorca on my BMW K75 ✌✌✌
Great 'vid' , loved the humour (Motobob's underwear was priceless) as for the XE ,great bike and a whole lot of fun to ride, all it needs to make it even better is a change of exhaust, a high rise front mudguard and a tail tidy (would also be better with twin analogue clocks)
Cracking video again loving the warning ⚠️ info Enjoyed you trying to set the modes 😂😂 Lovely bike and yes the forks should be black I agree in my opinion Clocks yes keep it basic Heh the Donkeys are beautiful can’t wait to see them !! Gorgeous location and the Town Regards Phil

Great video! The bike isn't my style but interesting none the less. Thats some beautiful countryside where you live with stunning views, perfect place for cruising around. Happy riding ✌️
I love my tft display. Works perfect plus bluetooth, turn by turn navigation, music, text messages, phone calls, tire pressure monitor, cruise control, heated grips, fuel range, mpg, coolant temp, auto night mode, etc. Try doing all that without a tft.

Hadn’t noticed anything on the steering and this is the second xe I’ve owned. I can’t fault the bike for the type of riding I do which to be fair is pretty gentle. On a project now to blacken it our.

Dear Old Man, repeat viewer and despite being some years your junior, appreciator of your humour (thank god someone still has some). I know this isn’t a radio station and you don’t take requests etc. but we are the same height (am 6’3”). Would greatly appreciate some tips from a tall guy with a lot more experience on bikes than me on how to improve things with customisation. Hopefully this would be worth a short video. Thanks a lot either way for the work you both put in. Cheers.
