I hope you two realize what a joy you are to those of us who get the privilege of watching your videos. I also hope you realize what a wonderful life you have there in the holler away from the fast paced life of the city. Each time I watch your videos and listen to you talk I have to confess being envious of your lifestyle. That is the lifestyle my parents and grandparents lived when I was growing up. What a wonderful life it was! Oh, that I could go back to those days and enjoy them again! 😊

Got up this morning calling on the Lord to help me through this season of grief and when I opened my phone I saw this video and was so excited to see you all planting in “Pap’s” garden. It melted my heart to see the love Matt showed to the girls for Mother’s Day. It reminded me there are so many joys that we overlook every day. So grateful! Thank you all for who you are and for continuing to shine God’s presence toward your followers. ❤️🙏

A humorous anecdote as told by Ronald Reagan , seems appropriate with your lower garden next to a creek , removing rocks and all , hope you enjoy it 🙂 "There was an old Kansas farmer there. He had a piece of creek bottom land that had never been developed at all -- it was all rocks and brush and all messed up. And he started in on it, clearing it -- the underbrush, and hauling away the rocks, then cultivating the soil there. And he planted a garden -- everything from vegetables on to corn, and it really became a garden spot. And he was pretty proud of what he'd done. So, one Sunday morning in church after the service he asked the preacher if he wouldn't stop by to have a look. Well, the preacher arrived. And he took one look and he said, ``Oh, this is wonderful.'' He said, ``These are the biggest tomatoes I've ever seen. Praise the Lord.'' And he said, "Those green beans, that squash, those melons.'' He said, ``The Lord really has blessed this place. And look at the height of that corn.'' He said, "God has really been good.'' And the old boy was listening to all this, and he was getting more and more fidgety and finally he blurted out, ``Reverend, I wish you could have seen it when the Lord was doing it by himself.'' 😄

Tipper, I have a question for you, if you see this would you plz respond? It’s about your hat you always wear when you’re working, I was wondering if it’s UPF 50 to prevent sunburn? I ask because, I just got through a scalp skin cancer and need to wear a hat with UPF50 to, hopefully prevent another skin cancer. Could you tell me more about your hat and where you got it? Btw, Matt’s surprise for all his girls is so thoughtful and kind, why can’t this world be full of more Matt’s. You all are very fortunate to have one another. Such a beautiful family y’all are. ❤

The best food in the world comes from your own garden. There is just something about watching your garden grow, tending it, and harvesting. The food just tastes better. Its a unique pleasure and satisfaction eating what you have grown. I hope your corn does better than ours did! It was so tall; about four and a half feet. It was very green, and the stalks thick and straight. We had a severe thunderstorm with 80 mph winds. It flattened every row, snapping most of the corn at it's base. As my husband said,"The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord!"

Silver Queen was my grandparents favorite. They had a fairly large garden but not big enough for corn (they did grow a row of popcorn). They bought Silver Queen from a local farm market and canned it. I've tried for years but l can't replicate how my grandma cooked her corn. Lots of pepper and bacon drippings

Good job! Y’all are a great team! Reminded me of my child hood in the garden… Saturday morning it was all hands on deck ( 5 of us kids) and a lot of evenings after daddy got home from his day job ( auto body repairman) we’d be in the garden … hoeing, pulling grass and weeds, sometimes watering, and then a lot of picking and hauling it back to the back porch . Fresh garden vegetables for supper every evening, tomato sandwiches whenever we wanted, cucumber salad on the side of our barbecue meat ( daddy love to bbq) Good times! Good times! Sitting on the front porch shucking corn and kinfolk and neighbor women helping my mama and she /we’d help them at harvest. It was a joyous event in the community… sweet iced tea and bare feet ! cutting up and just having a good time with it! Canning a whole lot of it and sharing with the elderly and needy . We were so blessed! Those were the days ! Thanks for sharing this and bringing back the memories! ❤️🙏

I told him he needed to go get it stitched up, as I could see his skull. He said, “ awww…you women always exaggerate!” I took him to the ER & it took 13 stitches to close it up! The wider rows are definitely a great idea! When everything is coming in and full grown, it will be great to ride the mower in between rows to keep the grass at bay. I’ve did that in the past. New gardens have so many weeds and grass until they get established. You both are wonderful parents and have a beautiful family. God bless you all and Happy Mother’s Day.

My daddy had extra weight welded into his t post driver years ago which has been a great help. You don’t have to pick it up as high to drive it, and helps from getting hurt.

From The Bronx, NY Hi Tipper 🤗 Happy Mother's Day to YOU🌹 GRANNY🌹& THE GIRLS🌹🌹 Glad to see the 🌽 corn being planted 🌽 . Matt came up with some VERY THOUGHTFUL, 1st Mothers Day Gifts for Katie & Coree. 👏👏👏👏. I mention this a couple of times before,. But, I know you all get a HUGE amount of comments & you can't possibly read them all. I watch alot of Alaskan Homesteader KZread Channels. To protect their gardens from Moose & other critters. They construct DIY wire electric fences, they use cattle panels & other types of wire. They buy a system that includes a battery about the size of a car battery w/ a solar panel about the same size of the battery & attach the system to the fence. Some purchase the systems from Home Depot, Amazon, etc, etc... Take Care Thanks for Sharing ALL MY BEST TO GRANNY 🙏🙏🙏

It's so good to see the good in this world. Oh and by the way, I had to go get me a box of popsicles so I can have one after I finish my garden work 😂. They look so tasty when y'all are eating them.

Our HOA made us take out our 6 corn plants we had planted along the outside of our fence years ago. Our neighbors had twins so we all had a race to see whose plant grew the tallest. All our neighbors loved seeing it. Out came our plants 😢 Well we moved about 2 minutes away and now have our acre we can plant what we want and have chickens. No more mean HOA! I can’t wait to watch your corn grow! 😊

My father used to use a chalk line to plant every seed he ever planted. He would also cut a stick pre-measured by him. For pole beans, it was 4 inches , for corn, it was 6 inches, for potatoes, it was 10 inches. You drop the stick then plant the seed. I thought he was being overly meticulous until once everything came up and got to looking lush, and then we would have people driving by our house so slowly to admire the perfection of our garden. And when Dad saw weeds in the garden, he would tell all of us kids, "I gotta hoe that will fit your hand just right!" And he would give us each a hoe of various sizes which did fit our hands "just right"! LOL!!!
