I've been working on my Wheel of the Year binder recently - mainly because I now feel a bit more settled, but it is more lore based, and an exploration of the heathen holidays. It's goal is to get ideas on how to celebrate them when you aren't part of a big group. Once I've completed it, I shall probably do a more arty based one with things that remind me of the gods and goddesses that are celebrated at certain times of the year and what I observe in nature.

Stunning grimoire! For the midsummer question. In some northern European traditions, summer begins at the equinox and winter begins at the fall equinox because they divided the year into only two seasons. That's where midsummer and midwinter come from💕

Such an impressive beautiful art grimoire! Watching this gives me a much-needed push to start my 2024 grimoire (and finish my 2023 grimoire). I also totally agree about midwinter and midsummer!

The seasons are shifted here in Canada too. I use the solstices to mark the start of the season and Imbolc and Lammas as midpoints too.

Do the leaves on the trees in the southern hemisphere turn orange and red before they fall for the winter? Or is that just a northern thing? I'm assuming we don't have the same trees

  • @correganthecrone

That’s a great question!!! And the answer is twofold! The native trees mostly don’t even shed their leaves at all, most of them are evergreen. But we do have a lot of the same trees, as colonisers brought their fauna with them, so we have lots of deciduous trees that shed their leaves, and yes they turn yellow or red or brown just the same!

Then perhaps I’m not for you. I get it. I find the way people speak can annoy me t, but I’m not actually rude enough to say this in their comments. I just don’t watch their videos. Kindness and respect is important even on the internet.
