While the Germans were known for their vehicles and engineering, they had the major problem of having a lack of fuel. So that large barrel you saw was a fuel tank that was transported by horses. By the end of the war the Germans were relying more on horses than their diesel powered vehicles

A practical use for a big barrel is to hold fuel to shoot and blow up in an fps

The giant barrel was used to transport slightly smaller barrels. Those barrels were used to transport bottles and those bottles were used to transport medium water

Enemy Front is the only game I know of that portrays the Warsaw Uprising. Although they did a good job of butchering the Heavy Water mission (they even rolled in Oscarsborg fort, which was responsible for sinking Blucher at the start of the Norwegian campaign but had nothing to do with heavy water)

@@skotnica93 The Norwegian's heavy water mission had been retold and had liberties taken with it as the basis of other stories innumerable times for nearly 80 years but only when two women popped up did Gamers(tm) let out their venom.

What are reasons WHY Enemy Front didn't come out on PS4/Xbox One consoles! 8th gen consoles did came out back in end of 2013 before this game released!

When I was in the army, I got to use a heavily modified prewar Kar 98k converted to 7.62 NATO with G3 sights and a FAL muzzle break and a specific scope mount in the place of the original sights with a Leupold Mark IV, after that I always pick the Kar 98k in any game I play to see how realistic it's operation is, so I'd pick it.

The game came out in 2013, right at the end of the Xbox 360 and ps3 life cycle so the graphics aren’t terrible like the first games that came out on 360 and ps3.

You can actually drink heavy water and be just fine. Chemically it has pretty much the same properties as regular water, only difference is, you know, being heavier

Been playing Far Cry 6 and it has the same wonderful gameplay feature 7 years later.

Oboe singing Weezer and acting like Ghost is so good it's become my life support

this channel is like a rolling showcase of every game i saw pre-owned at the game store and vaguely considered buying for a few minutes

I adore this game Ran on my potato that barely supported directx9 I spent hundreds of hours playing it and to this day I’m fascinated by its visuals and effects

One thing I’ll never give this game grief for is the weapon variety. My first exposure to more obscure guns like the welrod. Xbox ahoy did a great video on them back in the day

I got an Xbox One on release in 2013, but this only came out on the 360 a year later, so I can't remember why I even bought it. The only thing I can remember is the awful hit detection and the broken stealth sections, where the enemy always knew where you were and could shoot you through walls.

That radio transponder bit had me dying laughing, nice bit!

If a non-exploding red barrel became a gun, it would be that MP40... the disappointment is unparalleled

For a ps3 game, this have holds up quite well in terms of visuals. Aged nicely

most people who dunk on the kar98k are the same people who can't hit the broad side of a barn with it, that thing mostly slaps if you can hit your shots

The practical use of a giant barrel is obvious, escaping an elf prison with all your dwarf friends

This game was made by City Interactive, who were famous for making games so bad, they were actually funny; surprised you never mentioned that (or maybe you’ve never heard of them)

It's actually one their best games and you haven't seen them all if you didn't live in Poland during mid 00s. They used to sell garbage games priced about 4 dollars in local shops. I've played some oustanding pieces of shit from this company.

I remember playing this as a kid and it feels like a fever dream when remembering this game

C'mon oboe, everybody knows the most important tactical use of a giant barrel is for an ogre to utilize it in a pseudo-wrestling match against a horde of knights to prove his worth.

eeeey!! fantastic!! now Oboe needs to review the main series (Enemy Front is a spinoff, hence the stealth mechanic and the slow-mo-ish bullet killcam in the sniper mode), the "Sniper: Ghost Warrior" franchise and their DLC missions :D :D

The enemies in this game feels like they're holding their shiz.

Oboe, as a REAL fan I reccomend you Mercenaries 2 World in flames, its a 2008 open world game developed by pandemic where you can destroy everything, its very random, very chaotic and very fun. (play with mattias, best dialogues) edit. it works pretty well on xbox 360 emulator - xenia canary)

Ok GmanReviews made a video reviewing every game by this developer (including this one) and a dev actually responded in the comments and gave out some pretty interesting insight. Its a good read.

If you don't like 40th day, i can only imagine how you would react to Devil's Cartel lmao. Speaking of which you should definitely do Army of Two video.

Development of this must have been a wakeup call for City Interactive. For most of their existence they've had an output of one budget game every 6 to 8 months so their entry into the Seventh Gen was less then graceful judging from Ghost Warrior. Enemy Front was announced in 2011 but was definitely on the drawing board along their first major AA launch and had a pretty rough development but bless their hearts they NEVER gave up. Gotta hand it to them, it's pretty on the eyes for a final cry of the 360/PS3 but damn it plays rough. It's exceptionally hard to refill on ammo from fallen enemies as their bodies disappear mere seconds after killing (and for some reason the weapons are *Tied* to that particular ragdoll's existence on the physical plane) them which thankfully can be fixed by editing some files. But credit where it's due, it's one of only two games off the top of my head that focuses on the Warsaw Uprising!

I didn't much like the story, and it was a very generic world war 2 shooter... but a fun one, and it came out at a time we weren't really getting any high production value cinematic ww2 shooters so I really enjoyed it too.
