It's a hard question to answer. So far, I like the X-T5 more. I am going to make a video soon comparing them, but I like to take my time with subjects like this.

So did Nikon smash Fuji at their own game? How is the iso dial implementation? Heard several complaints about that and remapping workarounds.

Nope, the dial implementation is better on Fujifilm cameras in my opinion. I don't think Nikon made this camera as a direct competitor to Fujifilm. I think it is more for people that want a Leica and can't afford one.
