Also decent shortcut for some of this is to use import image as planes and just use the knife tool.

@@hardwire666too works, but results in an Ngon instead of clean topology - so bending and twisting the grass blades could look bad then. But the knife tool works great at taking the grass and making a cut lawn version!

@@CGGeek This is true unless you pay attention to how you slice it up only creating quads.

CG Geek never fails us with the nature tutorials lol. Great work!
This was WAY better than using Hair Particle system for making Grass. I never thought it would be so simple, just simple extrude, change the hue and BOOOM. Great work. hahah

Hi im curious is 12gb of laptop ram enough for doing these kind of things ?
Damn, very straight forward, pedagogic, easy, realistic and very high quality tutorial. I wasn't even looking for this ! (For once KZread algorythm works well) and i don't even use blender, just C4D. But this is the perfect workflow to adapt. Really cool video !

One of the best easy nature tutorials... Not new.. But a new way of doing it still.. Makes it easier and quick to have simple nature assets either as background element for product shot scenes or for anything else... Really cool

Not. Too much work, I would buy, time is money
Best looking grass I've seen in Blender! I do want to note that I don't think a branch is usually the same length as a blade of grass 😅

more like twigs in this scene 😅
The way the sponsoring was inserted in this was genius
simple but looks really great! thanks for demonstrating your workflow:)
super cool, just this week i feel like i've grown in understanding of blender enough to actually understand everything you did here. This is a great project I definitely will try because it is just advanced enough that i will learn from it, but not too advanced that i will get frustrated and fail at lol!
Being early for a new CG Geek video is always great. The tutorials are fantastic so incredibly helpful for everyone!
Fantastic video mate. Loving these little practical vids showing exactly how to get this stuff going
I love it when you do this tutorials. I still have the one you made aeons ago about creating nature from pictures. Very good...
also.. i have been looking for this video for such a long time i wanted to know how to create nature cuz i had ideas but no tools and gscatter is gonna be so helpful :D thank u!! thas why u're always epic!
Cool stuff. I've been doing this in 3ds Max for years. It's a life saver.
Stuff like this makes me remember why I went into cgi. Love this grass! You have a very fun and chill way of explaining this stuff as well.
WOW that is incredible mate! Definitely need to try this out thanks! 🔥😍
great simple summary of this process thanks
Always the best! Thank you Steve!
This officially killed any particle system approach to this in the future, thank you so much!
Thanks for the tutorial, it's just what I needed for what I'm working on right now!❤
very creative! thank you CG Geek for the detailed tutorial!
nice vid! Very to the point. The translucent node is really the ticket.
amazing way to make ambients bro, thnx a lot!
The video I needed, posted 1 hour ago! Thank you for post!
Saving this for my upcoming animations
CG Geek + Nature= 💚
Straight forward and easy to understand for a person who doesn't use blender, like bruh I don't have any work in that .
Holy. This is the fastest subscribe I've ever done on my KZread life. This is godsent. Thank you, CG!
Great video as always!! Thaks you so much for the tutorial!! keep up the good work!!😊
15 years of experience makes the difference, that was amazing ✨
Awesome video CGGeek!❤
I too had used gscatter but for the plants instead of modelling them i used a free plant library by the people at geo scatter(not g scatter )Setting up both the addons is a bit challenging but once you are done. You have a variety of different biomes to chose from
amazing as always! thank you. great to see the process.
Everything is awesome.. But what about 5million polygons 😭💀 my pc is dying 🙃🙃

It'd be way easier and still nice to create a single thin transparent pane and put the grass texture on both sides, so it'd a flat image of the grass...then make the panel itself flexible so it has fluid movement. Then duplicate the panels a few times, criss crossing them into a little cluster and group them. Three or 4 panels, transparent with a grass texture, the group has fluid movement. It works in open sim dream grid and it's like 1 or 2 prims. Doing fire is the same way, individual flame trans textures, criss crossed together into a group and add the particle smoke effects and glow and crackling sound. Blender is fantastic with that learning curve. I find it way easier to build low poly mesh in an open sim sandbox so my avatar can be in the builds and interact with them, others can join the sandbox and build collaboratively, and still get some great photo realistic environments (granted, not full HD level so far) for whatever purpose.
Omg this looks amazing!
That's just fantastical!
this really helped me thank you!
Thank you very much man. There’s people who can’t afford premium courses like yours, so giving this for free is just gold for us. Thanks again!

Wow.This is a very useful tutorial🎉
That was amazing! Thank you
You make it look so easy
Great tutorial, I'm still learning blender (Almost done with the Blender Guru Donut tutorial) and I thought my first project post donut would be to make a hedge maze in blender and this will help me a lot on the grass floor. Still looking for a good way to make hedges though since I can't afford a asset pack
This is really cool😍. Thanks Geek

After some years we need to see the nature in 3D only.
Amazing tutorial and execution. Very clear even for a newbie like me. I was just asking myself if there is a way to animate the grass that it blows in the wind? Do the normal physics like "force field" work with the grass if it is made that way?
Now we need a low poly lawn mower cutting grass tutorial pls
This is awesome! Just wish I had grass where I live :I
Wow so cool 👍🗿
nice!
0:31 nice
Bro just made a whole year's process into a video💀
Best of the best
Thanks for clearing the doubt and deleting the cube LOL 😄
