Something I didn’t realize about Welt is that if Welt imprisons enemies with his ultimate, they cannot counterattack no matter how many times you hit them. So “HERE STANDS THE SILVERMANE GUARD” or the floating mage women that attack after being hit or you used a basic/skill attack, they can no longer trigger those counter attacks if you use Welt’s ultimate first.

Welt was my first 5 star, and my second, and the fourth (I got him in the same 10 pull with JY). He literally carried me to end game. Seeing the enemy turn come up and going back down again because of Welt is incredibly satisfying. Thanks Grandpa!

I got the new LC, Boundless Choreo and I think it's a good alternative to his light cone. Adds crit rate 8%, crit dmg 20% increase when the enemy is slowed or reduced def.

As an E2 Welt and (shop exchanged) Signature Light Cone player, he was my first 5 Star and on my first ever 10-pull. He is consequently my most well invested character sub stat wise and fulfils my Imaginary needs so well I (barely) managed to stop myself pulling for Dan Heng IL. Fully recommend.

YES IT'S FINALLY WELT'S TIME Great guide! As a longtime Welt player, even I learned something (mostly about the 43% EHR vs. 67%), and this really fired me up to get e6 over time :D I even was using a Luocha/Welt/Pela/Dan Heng team for MOC back in 1.1 lol. coming back here after the dr ratio news cuz i'm considering pulling incessant rain for welt and pairing him with ratio. that LC will not only allow welt to do damage, but also boost ratio's damage thanks to aether code. he could also use the penacony set. ratio will either be using cruising or his own LC if i can get it. hmmm decisions decisions

I came here because in memory of chaos, when my welt used his technique and starting the battle, the enemies are not being imprisoned from the start, I thought I need I need Ehr but even 100% ehr isn’t enough to imprison from start why I’m getting this issue

So, my chars were, and i was trying to beat the swarm, im pretty lucky myself so i have 6 five stars being F2P, but i couldnt Win against even Cocolia in the midway, i tried many builds. But when i got welt and decided to give his drip an try, holy shit, that was an crazy run, welt never gaved an enemy any turn, between that, i used nihility path to make the enemies suffer with 3 stages of cancer and an blessing that when a char hit one M1, all the effects on the enemy activates, plus i gaved everyone who was Frozen a bit of Dissociation and other blessing that when an enemy with dissociation is hit, he takes 150% damage from it. And boom, my support became an dps, my dps became an dps and my tank became an dps. (Nihility+Hunt+Propagation.)

I waited so long for this guide! thank you for your work

Asta welt team is honestly one of the funniest things in the game, especially in SU with Hunt. Love to have a boss unable to move outside of the one attack they get off during their bar break

Trying to get him to E2 for that sweet 2T ult. He is just my favourite even when I already have IL. In fact, I tried passing through diff 4 swarm with so many tries in the end it was Welt borrowing Pela's eagle set which helped me keep the bugs conistently broken. DHIL Welt Luocha and Geppie

Jingliu was being coy at first, so she made me buy her dinner to bring her home, but I got Welt along the way. Holy crap, my gear is questionable on him but is EHR is peak, so even though my Welts damage is ranked just below a wet noodle, he imprisons enemies while not giving a F about elemental weaknesses, toughness bars, etc. Mister Stunlock comes in clutch, love him!

I'm thinking about how silly Welt + RM turn control must be

being an active user of a DHIL + Welt team comp i cannot express how much joy i get from playing them together, obviously they are both skill point MONSTERS but I compensate for this by having them both with ATK boots rather than speed, and having Tingyun and Huohuo there to provide energy to DHIL to get his ult quicker to save skill points, while also having them at +134 speed to become skill point generating machines. it's gotten to the point where my tingyun sometimes gets two turns in a row (akin to the ejecting the borisin blessing) because of all her speed from speed boots, substats, hackerspace 2pc and 4pc effects, and her a2 passive and it's honestly crazy. playing on propagation bath makes the skill point tax WAY more lenient as well from path resonance

Welt was my first 5 star, but I didn’t really use him or think of building him until now. I’ve changed my mind because I want to use Dr Ratio a lot and Welt is a good teammate. Seeing this makes me realize how I shouldn’t have been neglecting him so much😭😭 I have him at e2 and s2 (on his signature light cone) and I’m excited to start using him :) This video was super helpful!!

I built my Welt balanced towards Atk and EHR. It worked well and hasn’t shown any weaknesses regardless of where I place him. He has enough hit rate to proc his Slow but is missing an Energy Regeneration Rope. From what I hear, this should be bad, but that extra damage I put as replacement let me do a lot of damage with him instead. My build of Welt double dips in attack and effect hit rate, but it did wonders. Highly recommend this build.

@@guobacertified One thing I realised is leaning into SPD can make Energy Regeneration useless. Only utility units like March might want that, and even then if her defence isn’t at least 3000 then it’s better for a defence rope.

Welt is that character that will start to be really needed possibly later through out the game to slow down the enemies.

Thank you so much for explaining WHY he wants a certain amount of EHR that isn't the standard 67%!! As well as why he prefers SSS over something like Pan-Cosmic (rip pan-galactic) and the new atk%/dmg& hybrid set. I've been completely lost as to why that was and didn't want to commit to rebuilding my grandpa until I understood the reasons behind his recommendations.

I hear before the tutorial is a excellent choice as well as 2nd best LC if paired with silver wolf or pela as you can easily do. A 2T ult even without er rope and can instead run att rope at that time.

Just won twice by getting a brand new Welt and Argenti in the same 10 pull! Never happened to me before. Now I’m happily overwhelmed by unbuilt gentlemen 😊 Had to come here to check how to build Welt. I thought I would have to wait for the 300 pulls guarantee. Welt was the one I hoped to get from the starter banner but he has eluded me from day 1.

So i got Welt losing the 5050 for Silver wolf before getting her, and now i got his signature lc on the standard banner. Now its time to be a Welt main i guess,but i love his character and his kit so it works out 😂

The true pain of welt is the relic leveling process, even when it's good. I got a helm for him with CRIT DMG/EHR, it went all into CRIT. I got gloves with CRIT%/DMG and EHR, it ALL went into CRIT DMG. My space sealing station sphere also has EHR and CRIT DMG on it, and at this point, you don't get points for guessing what stat it rolled into. Like I know I should be happy with all the crit dmg rolls, but his EHR is so low that it causes me psychic damage.

btw, in the discord server in a mod, a guy came up with an E0 2 turn ult rotation for welt, it needs : -energy regen rope -vonwaq set -S5 tutorial lightcone (the SW event lightcone)

nice guide! I got Welt like a few days before Kafka banner, and I finally built him up. He is so good in the new Sim Uni mode. Really fun too.

Wuoba best boi Also I guess you've managed to convince me that I should make the switch to SSS for my Welt, since I've managed to hit the 70% crit rate recently but with only 50-ish% crit DMG and not enough ATK to my name (relic hell gave me shit substats) I'm still definitely sticking with ERR Rope, because I enjoy constantly going "THERE WON'T BE A NEXT TURN" and tbf I usually always pair my Welt with another DPS

Agree, always believe in Speed and Crit Rate. Enemy either ressist cc or not ressist it so theres no reason to go beyond 50%

I also find high refine pearls of sweat to be decent in a sub dps situation, as he can apply def shred to all enemies on top of his 12% vulnerability.

@@NLRem You don’t need Energy Regeneration if you’re running SPD. Both of them together are only for utility units like Asta.

I thought that I should build him when I got his e1 and for some reason 3 times his LC, but I didn't superpose it because I gave one copy to Silver wolf and Pela respectively. Now my problem is... I need his imaginary set so badly, I only got 4 stars pcs of that set and the 5 stars I could get are normally from the other set. Anyways, thank you very much, this video helped me a lot.

What do you think about using the IPC planar set? I didn’t hear you mention that? I think that it can provide competitive value with 10% EHR + 12-15% atk compared to SSS’s 24% atk.

For DHIL its pretty simple, for welt its difficult lol

I can tell you w 4pc IMG the bonus crit doesnt count for the rutilant buff, but SSS still works wonders. The lack of crit is compensated by his loaded kit.

I just got him yesterday, and funnily enough the 5 Star I got from Standard Banner was his LC which I already leveled since my Luka was using it.

Welt is my all time fave and mono imaginary has been a dream of mine for a while. I know he isn’t necessarily SP positive but could e3 welt and e6 DHIL work on a team with luocha and e6 yukong? Or am I really better off with bronya/tingyun etc

Finally got him today on 80 pity from standard banner, he was the one I was collecting 300 pulls for, so now I can have e1 Bronya with clear conscience instead.
