    So happy to see this review. Still waiting on mine from Adam's pre-order as they have changed the date three times. This thing is going to be amazing with my pf22.2. I think another thing to point out when it comes to longevity is they are doing a 2 year warranty for residential use. That really sold me on the unit.

  • @CarsWithKeav

    @CarsWithKeav

    2 ай бұрын

    Yeah the two year is a big thing. I think it will have good longevity. When I pre-ordered with Obsessed garage for the 2.0 it was multiple date changes as well and I bought a second one form Active and it came quicker. They have to receive at their facility first then send it to Adam’s which includes a border crossing and customs.

  • @DimensionMachine

    @DimensionMachine

    @@CarsWithKeav Yeah, It was a good starting point, and the form factor cant be beat, but honestly it is a trud all the way around. The sound is one of the most awful things ever, the hose is cheap and kinky and the ou put is not very good. Yes it sounds like it is going to break every single time it shuts off. it is also mounted on a wall shared with the house so it is almost as loud inside the house as it is out in the garage. I do love that it has 100ft of hose, and again the looks and formfactor are great, but it is total garbage overall. I wish I had the 300 bucks back, but I have used it for a year and if nothing else it has proven that I can justify spending more on a more prosumer level machine. Thanks again for the vids!

    Keav, been waiting for this review. I'm glad I waited, as I've seen one other review in Canada, and he did not perform the GPM and amp test, left it up to you, IMJOSHV and OG to do it. Was on the fence with Big Boi pro and Active 2.3 and when active released 2 videos claiming the unit is serviceable, that made it even more enticing. Your video and the discount code, brought this unit well within purchase territory . I ORDERED IT JUST NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Should’ve had a drain and fill bolt for the oil. You can change the oil of any “sealed” pressure washer the same way active showed in their video. Also now I know why my Portland pressure washer intermittently surges, I thought it was a bad pressure switch but it must be the uberflex hose I use. Great video as always!

  • @CarsWithKeav

    @CarsWithKeav

    2 ай бұрын

    The design of the 5 piston pump doesn't allow the room to have the oil filler or drain plug is what I have been told without compromising anything. Its possible on the Portland, but could just be the unit itself. I might have to expand my testing, but Uberflex has always worked well on all the cheaper units I have reviewed.

I am also right in the middle of making a comparison video between 2.3, both big boi, AR630 TSS and the Comet 1700. SInce its 5 pressure washer I will just pick the best nozzles that get them all at the same PSI between 950 and 1K and just do those numbers. Ill also report issues brought up in the comments and what I have experienced and I talked to IMjoshv and will give some input he gave me when it comes to using a generator with them.

Plus the cage soecs and it doesn't sound too loud, actually sounds better than the 2.0. If I had the funds, I would buy one right now. The discount code, free shipping and no tax. That foam blaster is a joke, I agree on that and not sure what active was thinking. I wish I had my setup figured out as it is I don't get access so easily to wash my car unless I go to a friend's house. But I tell you, the price and it surplants the AR630. Oil maint and sound, those would be a good trade off to me.

    Hello everyone including Cars with Keav Let me start by saying that received my 2.3 today. Ordered on Monday and received on Friday @10 am by FedEx. The box was in good shape for the weight of this unit. I attached my 50’ braided hose rated @5000psi to the 2.3 and changed the orfice that active gives you for the after market foam cannon in my case the MTM foam cannon, and started the testing. I bled the line of air and I noticed more water flow from the gun, no nozzle. Using the stubby gun and attached actives included 25 and 40 degree nozzle to and immediately notice how much more water the unit was pushing and the force of the water….amazing😊 The the MTM foam cannon was next and put maybe 100ml of 3D foam cannon soap to about 300ml of water and the shaving cream of foam was amazing, I could never achieve this quality of soap with my 2300psi with 1.2 gal/min old induction pressure washer. As for the loudness of the unit, honestly from my old unit to this one. The 2.3 is infinitely QUIETER. I get the side by side comparisons to the big boi pro and duo that it’s louder. But honestly, the 2.3 is quiet I can talk to people as I work. If any of you guys are on the fence, don’t be this unit performs and brings detailing to another level…. It’s worth it!!!! Detailed Hose Performance Comparison: TLDR: Very satisfied and impressed with the ability to run a 100' Kobrajet hose. If you're on the fence with getting a longer hose and think you could ever use the extra length, go for it knowing you won't take any performance hit. Got my Kobrajet 3/8 100 foot blue hose (steel braided). It's working flawlessly with no hesitation shutting off when releasing the trigger. I ran a flow and pressure test with a few different hose setups. I tested each configuration 3 different times to reduce error. This was all with my garden hose supplying 60 PSI and 6.5 gpm using the stock 4.6 nozzles. The setups were: the stock 40' hose; the 50' Uberflex; the Uberflex+stock hose (90 feet); and the 100 foot Kobrajet. With all of them the flow rate was 2.16 gpm, each within 0.03 gallons of each other with no repeatable advantage for any one setup (water weighed on calibrated scale). The stock hose and Kobrajet are giving ~810 PSI; the Uberflex ~800 PSI; the Uberflex+stock hose was ~790 PSI. Admittedly, the pressure gauge is hard to tell if there's a change less than about 10 PSI since the graduations between lines is so small, but from many tests there is not a considerable change in pressure between any of the setups. The ONLY real world difference between any of these setups was the time to achieving full pressure. I took a video of the gauge and measured the times from pulling the trigger until reaching full pressure. The stock hose is the quickest on the pressure gauge taking ~0.75 seconds to reach full pressure; the Kobrajet 100 foot was ~1.5 seconds; the Uberflex and Uberflex+stock hose were ~2.3 seconds. In use you don't notice any difference when using the Kobrajet, but you do notice the slight delay from trigger pull to ramp up using the Uberflex, as shown in other videos. Not sure why I'm only getting around 800 PSI, but my gauge could very well be mis-calibrated as it was an Amazon buy and not an expensive calibrated gauge. It's at least repeatable and shows differences with other setups I've tried it on. The flow tests are very accurate as I used a high end calibrated scale. Foam Canon: With MJJC Pro and included 1.45 orifice I'm getting ~800 PSI at 12.5 amps. With 1.25 orifice was getting 1250 PSI at ~17 amps with the pump sounding audibly like it was working harder. Conclusion: I was surprised to not see any difference in the flow rates with any of these hose setups. This could be due to my setup, errors, or resolution of measurement. The internet would make you believe the flow and pressure will take a huge hit and the pump will work harder when running a 100 foot hose. Physics also says this, but looking at Hazen-Williams or Hagen-Poiseuille equations shows that increasing the diameter to be a much bigger factor than length. In my tests I simply did NOT see any discernible difference between any hose with respect to flow, and only the slightest change in PSI that was hard to even discern on the pressure gauge. I know I've heard Matt at OG mention he hadn't seen any difference when using 100 foot hoses, but again all the keyboard warriors will tell you it's a bad idea, when (at least in my tests) there's no difference. The pump also did not appear or sound to be working any harder with the longer hoses, and with the Kobrajet hose I'm pulling a consistent 12.4 amps. I'm still waiting on a Coxreel to put the Kobrajet on, and part of me wonders if there will be any change using the reel since it has a 90d elbow connection, which in theory could reduce flow due to increased turbulence but I honestly doubt it will make a discernible difference. Will update if there's any change. I think these pressure washers are just not moving enough water to see any real world hit to performance. Maybe if I was testing with an 8.5 gpm gas unit it would be different... But, for my particular unit of the Active 2.3 it is no problem and you should consider going for the longer hose (steel braided) if you think you will ever need it.

  • @CarsWithKeav

    @CarsWithKeav

    Ай бұрын

    I would not except any change in flow due to the inner diameters being more than enough for the flow needed I would expect going beyond 100 feet you might start to see pressure drop on a 1/4 hose. Might even see pressure drop on a 100ft 1/4 hose vs a 3/8, but I don’t have that length to even test. Uberflex makes sense taking longer since it expands beyond its actual diameter due to not having braiding to control it.

  • @BradRussellisAwesome

    @BradRussellisAwesome

    Ай бұрын

    @@CarsWithKeav for sure I think when going longer, a 3/8 hose will more than make up for any increase in length. If you really want to deep dive check out the Hazen-Williams equation and you'll see that diameter makes a way bigger difference than length. I think you're right on the money about the Uberflex expanding which would absorb some of the pressure energy which is probably why we're seeing the differences when using it vs the steel-braided. Anyways, hope this unnecessary deep dive will help anyone else with the same curiosity haha!

What is your feeling on the optimal Nozzle Orifice size for the "Active 2.0" for Car washing as I want to settle on one size... stock 3.7, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 🤔 Thanks for your videos... some of the most informative and food for thought ones around 👍

    The AR630 would have slightly less performance and at over 15 amps and is meant for a dedicated 20 amp and comes with the plug for a 20 amp outlet and will not fit in a normal outlet. Two things if you like quiet and have a 20 amp dedicated then the AR is the pick or if you want a machine that is known to be reliable. The 2.3 we don't know yet how reliable it will be, but it does more flow than the AR and at a higher PSI while still being under 15 amps.

    Not really at least to me and with these much bigger machines a heavier duty steel braided hose is preferred and even recommended. Since it is using m22 fittings which is keeping within what they came with stock so the Uberflex to me would be the next step up in upgrades from the crappy stock hoses, but for sure not the final step in the upgrade path. I used one for awhile and after the hype wore off I’m glad I went back to my 3/8 hoses. I really don’t like anything about it anymore except it’s a much better option than most hoses that come with most cheaper pressure washers. Of course thats my opinion of course and others may think different. Many love them and think they are the best. It’s all subjective.

    I just ordered the Active 2.3 but I also want to order the DIC-20. The Active 2.3 requires 4.8 GPM inlet water and the DIC-20 will only accept 2.5 GPM. So are these two systems incompatible? Would the output of the DIC-20 be 2.5 GPM or would the output still be 4.8 GPM but only part of the water filtered? Could you please explain how these two systems work and if they can be compatible? Is there a water deionizing system that outputs a high GPM or would this be super expensive to maintain? I'm guessing you would go through resin twice as fast. I feel unsure of what I should do.

  • @CarsWithKeav

    @CarsWithKeav

    2 ай бұрын

    There are systems that can handle much more GPM and no it would not go through resin quicker it’s about surface area and the time needed to properly filter. The smaller the unit the longer it takes to filter. The 2.3 GPM might be an issue just can’t say for sure yet. Thing is if you run full blast through the DIC-20 you will get the 4.8 GPM and more, but it will not filter as good and probably have tds. My theory though is the 2.3 is only running that then it would limit the incoming flow making the water go through the filters at 2.3 GPM. I’ll have to test this and maybe make a video as well.

  • @CarsWithKeav

    @CarsWithKeav

    Changing the nozzle size to be smaller makes the motor work harder to force the water through which increases it’s draw in amp. Opposite for a larger size having less load/pressure for lower amp draw and since it’s larger more water flow as well.
