Hey Kurt and Zac, thank you for taking a look at the CEO and Pilar. Great choices for everyday carry. We appreciate you including them in your office EDC roundup. More green Micarta CEO’s on the way.

I would say there are a handful of knives that have been designed with first responders in mind but the problem is that you hear from most first responders they don’t use knives they use safety scissors as there is no risk to cutting the person you’re helping.
Thinking about carrying in office setting... we can make a knife “less threatening” by how we present it and put it away. I have a Kershaw Leek (stonewashed). When I open it in a setting where I think someone might be nervous, I open it with two hands and pull the blade open. I know I could easily do it with one hand, but not opening it fast removes some of the fear. Also in closing it... I think how they might close it and use two hands again. I does not cost me anything, but I want to be an advocate.

Good post. And most likely people will eventually get used to you carrying and using knives and they won't be as alarmed to see you open it casually and you may even convert some people while you're at it.

When opening a locking knife two-handed around random people, I sometimes put a little thumb pressure on the the lock to reduce the "snap".

@@johnruiz6743 , my comment was based on experience... I have had two individuals jump back and make a comment when using the speed safe opening. This was in the context of using it to open cardboard boxes... not in a threatening situation. No telling how people will respond...

W Jack opening boxes of iv fluids and certain packaging. I don’t like to use my “trauma shears” because they have typically cut clothing off someone with body fluids on them. I also use it for opening orthopedic devices. I try not to use it in the patient room however, just in case I freak out mamaw.

Nice choice. Love my Rustic Gent with the green micarta.
my "office" is the warehouse and by far the best knife is the husky compact lock-back utility knife. set you back about 10 bones. slim, light, pocket clip, replaceable standard blades, perfect.
I think a few criteria effect the “attention” pulling a knife brings: 1. Speed of deployment. 2. Size 3. Aesthetics The faster you go from, seemly, unarmed to armed draws attention to you. At that point the size of what you are deploying vs the task you are performing (is the knife size is more appropriate of field dressing a elk than opening an envelope) seems to come into play. Lastly does your knife look like something from COD. As a knife ambassador I used to carry a ZT 0350 in one pocket and a smaller ESSE folder in the other. Did all my around the office chores with the ESSE but always had the ZT available. Never seemed to bother too many people. YMMV

I had to put my Victorinox Spirit into a locker at the airport (viewer deck, you have to go through metal detector). But I was allowed to keep the baby-blue Mini Griptillian. I'm almost certain it was the color.
Iv recently started carrying a pocket knife every day. I can't believe how often I use it. Wish I started sooner.
I absolutely love that this video was over an hour. I've been watching it in bits for the past two days. Keep doing what your doing! #cutanything
It’s not about whether coworkers are “weird about knives” its about how the knife carries in dress pants.
@InsipidChicken
2 жыл бұрын
This. This is the most important aspect. It's not about restrictions or coworkers, its about how it carries in dress pants, and if it seems reasonable for the lunchroom or opening letters, and at the same time, seems unreasonable for everything else (a utensil, NOT a tool). More than half of these are not suitable
Bro, thank you guys for being so Kool. Legit one of the top 5 best channels. I hope to meet you two someday. You guys always have great energy. Kurt & Zac have the best chemistry though. Have me laughing all the time. SALUTE to you guys. Big love and respect to you and the rest of the krew 💯💯 hope y'all staying smooth thru these times of grief. thanks for all the laughs && upliftment.
I love the dragonfly for nice low key knife! It's sturdy, non-threatening, it locks, and totally disappears in the pocket. Fully ambidextrous too, which works for me as a lefty. I definitely prefer the green FRN though.
For my workplace knife, I alternate between the CRKT CEO in green micarta and the Kizer Feist reverse tanto in carbon fiber. I’ve gotten so many questions about both! They make for a get conversation about knives and how practical they are. Plus, I always have a knife with me and no one gets freaked out. 👍🏼
I'm not in a restrictive office environment, but I carry the Native 5 Lightweight. It's just my favorite knife right now.
This is a great list! I looked at my work carry rotation...CEO, Dragonfly 2, and Pilar are regularly in my pocket at the office. I think the Civivi Elementum would have been a great addition to the list. I also love to carry the Kershaw Amplitude 2.5. With that said, There is one knife that I always have,: my Bowie Minimalist. It doesn't print through a button down shirt!
I'm a Case guy. Timeless classic. Quality craftsmanship.
I was in one of those offices where "weapons" were frowned upon. Which was really weird as we were a DoD contractor, and I had spent 6 months in AFG for them... But you know, my CRKT Deviation was somehow "a weapon". Now I work from home and have 9 knives on my desk :) Wire clips are nice because the rough up my stirring wheel less when getting in and out of my car.

Favourite office knife in the Southwest of Germany: Swiss Army Mini Champ Alox, thanks for the show, Blade HQ!
Office carry: victorinox classic daily, rotatation of spiderco tanacious, benchmade bugout, benchmade full size crooked river
The best office EDC knife is Cold Steel Espada XL. It’s cool. It’s slick. It keeps clowns and paper warriors away from you so you can focus better on work.

52:29 wood scales are the reason I have a *Böker Kansei Wasabi* as my personal office/EDC knife (it also fits very well with german carry laws, hello from Germany btw ^^) Sometimes that Böker gets switched out for a custom design *Deejo 37g* (Ebony wood scales, silver finish) Also I always carry a *Victorinox Midnight Manager* (everything you could ever need in an office in one tiny little tool)
Lol when I was in the office we weren't supposed to have knives at all. Every day I had a ZT0770CF in Elmax, a Glock 19 and a 7.5 side folding AR pistol in my backpack. I also never knew when I would be required to go into the field for days or weeks at a time. Live your life
I work in a manufacturing shop running a cnc router, so I don’t have a favorite office carry, but I did just get my new sog terminus xr with s35vn blade can’t wait to put it to use at work

Big note on Zac and college carry Even though I'm not in an office setting, im at college and people get tense about knives. So I carry a Gerber keynote to cut my paracord boot laces and to open mail. I love my keynote and keep it on my keys. Also carry a Gerber Suspension nxt and a buck 110 lt
Thank you for great video. I carry in the office spyderco cat. It’s cheap, small, light (2.5 oz) and reliable .
For the office, I carry the Leatherman Skeletool CX with Texas Toolcraft Damascus blade . It's light so it works for dress clothes and summer shorts. Everyday not in office is Leatherman Charge Tti on belt and rotation of pocket clip knifes. Usually ZT 0220
Just recently started carrying the Kershaw Fraxion! Super light weight, dependable, and loving I do far!
We need a main man Trevor collection... it’s a must. EDIT: We need an uncle shakey collection as well!! ;)
Just changed my office carry from a Gerber Pocket Square to a Civivi Elementum. Loving it
I love my CEO from CRKT. It is not carbon fibre but finished with a turned design in the handle that does look a bit like carbon fibre in some lighting conditions. Also, my was very difficult to single hand open when new, but is breaking in now. A very nice knife for the office at a great price.
Thanks for keeping it real Kurt, saying what you like and don’t like about the knives 🤙🏼
LOVE the wireclip! Love it on my Para 3 LW and Fox VoxCore!
My #1 EDC knife no matter if I’m in the office, at home, or on a hike: Benchmade - mini barrage, in orange blaze, open assist, axis lock, D2 steel, black blade.
I originally at first sight didnt like the spyderco wire clip. I first saw it on one of their Taichung models amd thought it was cheap looking on such a nice knife. But now I really love the minimalistness of it and it's the best deep carry pocket clip they have. Big fan now
Just got a ka-bar dozier and I absolutely love it. Gonna use it in shop... work in a vinyl and sign shop
Have a CRKT CEO with the green micarta coming to me now, excited to try it out. Prior to that I've had a Kershaw 2330 Al Mar AM-4 for the last 2 years. What originally drew me the the Kershaw was it was the thinnest and probably classiest looking knife I've ever carried. Taking that logic to the n'th degree with the CRKT CEO, we'll see how it does...
For years I carried my first knife I bought as a teenager at Kmart a gerber gator. Still have it but I replaced it last year with a civivi naja flipper with Damascus steel and G10 scales, I got from blade HQ. Love it although big for most people to carry.
I carry Cold Steel Spartan and para 2. I love my job!
Victorinox is the best for office. I carry the bantam alox, it is even slimmer. Victorinox is very commonly known and people will associate it with cutting fruit, so will definately not scare co-workers. My boss even was happy that I had it when her broken monitor had to be changed urgently before a meeting. - thanx V for the opener/ screwdriver - the Bantam proved to be a very a capable tool for the office.
I carry a Spyderco Native 5 Salt LC200N blade and a Spyderco Dragonfly 2 in ZDP-189 for the office. Native 5 Salt has aftermarket deep carry clip. Dragonfly 2 is carried in pocket, not clipped. Both very unobtrusive, forget they are there. When I use them, neither alarms coworkers. 😉
Can’t go wrong with an Opinel No. 8 for office carry. I keep one in my desk and use it all the time to cut fruit and open boxes etc. Very classy and not aggressive looking to non-knife people
Great video like always guys. Had a blast till next video lol 🤣

Thanks for tuning in! See you next one.👊
On my swiss army knife, I often use the shorter blade because it’s more manouverable and the larger blade is a commemorative blade and has words printed on it.
I work in an office and carry a variety of folders, never had any issues pulling out a PM2 or a CQC-7B.
Just got my first Elementum plan on more! Perfect office carry.
I have been (and continue to be) a huge fan of the Kershaw Al-Mar....it has the elegance for office carry.
I have used my SOG Key Knife to cut radiator hose. It cut it like butter. Great knife!

Yeah buddy!👊
So I work in a hospital, but it’s in Alabama so I think we get a lot more leeway than anyone typically would with knife carry. I rotate in my Spyderco Endura with the wave, a Boker Kalashnikov, a cold steel AK47 with my scrub pants by Carhartt, and lately I’ve been rocking my brand new CRKT Tuna. I also carry a Leatherman Raptor, since I work in the ER, and a gerber suspension, which I will definitely be switching out for something else. It’s absolutely destroys pockets.
I work in an office (not as strict as some I guess) and I carry either the UTX 70, SBR or the ikuchi pretty regularly. The utx fits perfectly in my inside jacket pocket and the deep carry clip on the SBR and ikuchi are perfect for suit pants. Easy on the fabric, hard to see and both are light enough to not weigh down the pocket either.. but I’m just one guy
@BladeHQ

UTX 70 for the win!
I always carry a Buck 371H (belonged to my grandfather for ~30 years before I inherited it) for normal tasks, a CRKT Minimalist Bowie on my belt, and a Mora Eldiris in my bag for harder tasks. Anything I need above that, I'll be in a situation where I can get my hands on something bigger than that
Time for Wow, yaaaaassss! Not to be a pedantic jerk, but main man Trevor was carrying the Katana upside down, always gotta have the cutting edge facing up.

I got a Spiderco Lil Native for the office. Great for cutting bubble wrap and boxes. Sharp as hell. Very non threatening. I also have a Benchmade mini Osborne on me as well. Love the vids guys
I know I’m late but I definitely enjoy the wire clips gives it a sleek, tactical feel.
I carry a benchmade Osborne, aluminum handle, and a cold steel tuff lite, my office is a semi
I'm a California Teacher and knives are technically prohibited on campus, but I always carry my Spyderco Dragonfly 2 and My Victorinox Cadet...if anybody asks... they are 'Box Cutters'...No student, parent, or administrator have ever raised an eyebrow...and its super handy from shaving pencils, opening up boxes, cutting string, slicing paper, cutting poster board, or making PB& J's for lunch...Hall of Famers!
Just preordered the bugout mini. didn't know it existed until this video. Was going back and forth about the full size but was stalling on the size vs the leek in my pocket now. The white and black mini...Dead sexy. Sold!

The mini Bugout is perfect for urban/office carry. It's small, very light and the drop point blade doesn't cause alarm. You forget it's in your pocket.
For an office knife, I think of Chris Reeve. The perfect office carry is the Mnandi

Hell yes on the app. Make sure the search a filter criteria are as good, or better than the website. Look at Newegg on a PC for ideas on how to be even better than you already are. Benchmade Valet, m390 office awesome. Needs the pivot worked in though. I carry it or a Spyderco LW Sage 5. I'm interested in Lil Native with compression lock. It would also work well. I also always carry either the PS4 or the Cadet Alox in the office. I love that you covered them back to back in the video!
What a coincidence. I’m actually looking for a new office edc knife. Love you guys. I really wish you guys shipped to the Uk.
Office carry: Böker Urban Trapper 42 (two handed version) and a Victorinox Pioneer. In most cases I just pull out that SAK, never met anyone who got scared by a Victorinox
The Victorinox Pioneer X would also be a great office knife as it has scissors. And if you miss the toothpick and the tweezers, you can always get a Swiss Card.
And I love watching you guys and I am also trying to convince my students to get one to
I love the Kershaw Atmos, it's my current EDC knife
I am a fitness instructor and it’s been very hard to find a knife I can keep on me in my work clothes while I’m teaching. I carry a SOG Aegis or a Boker Burnley Kihon with a drop point blade. The problem is that all I wear at work is a pair of 5 inch running shorts and a tank top or running jersey. This has also been the problem when I go for my runs. I like to have a knife on me at all times but have been having to throw it in my work bag once I get to work. I now swear by the Microtech Exocet. The design is ingenious because it doesn’t even look like a knife so it doesn’t matter if someone does get a tiny glimpse of it poking out of my tank top. It’s the first knife I can clip on me then go for a 10 mile run and never know it’s there. It is hands down the best smaller EDC I’ve ever had but still could get the job done.
I would probably use yes the crkt ceo! Or a crkt m16 smaller line! I know I know it's a tactical but you can use it. The Hexabone by crkt can also be used. Two Suns knife co. Makes a box cutter type titanium lnife.
Im in a pretty restrictive office. But I EDC 3 knives in my briefcase: 4” Buck Grandpa’s Knife, the Squirt, and a Swiss Card.
I got the G-10 Spyderco Dragonfly 2 and I love it! A bit more but idk, I just like the g-10 they put on it
I was catching up on some of your "office carry" videos and when you pull out a tomahawk for an office carry, I'm thinking of the movie, "Friday The 13th". My co-workers would be really thrilled about it. Lol. My favorites for office carry..Benchmade Valet, the Arcane, the Foray, or the Bugout(which I really like more than the Spyderco Dragonfly. The Bugout is such a great knife). I also have to add in the Benchmade 940 Osborne. Usually, one of these is in my pocket.
Benchmade Tengu. Tactical hint, but small and gentlemanly. Perfect for office.
Love the Deacon. On my must buy list.
I was on the fence about Spydercos wire pocket clip until I bought the para3 an I’m all for it now. It’s very sturdy an holds great too.
Best office EDC is hands down the microtech utx-70. super small and fits in slacks very nice.
The deacon looks so good it’s got kind of a fixed blade/bush craft look to it in a small edc flipper.
Kizer Envoy is my office carry choice. Titanium w/CPM-S35VN blade. Very classy look and smooth feel.
Always carried cheap knives and finally spent some money on the Spyderco Sliverax for my office EDC could not be happier
Man I love that first Pro Tech. Great price for a Pro T as well.
3 Bean Burritos No Sauce No Onions. And a side of nacho cheese. Sometimes a soft taco with no lettuce. And love the Cinnabon Delights for dessert! Just really found it odd to hear someone other than me and my brother sound that picky! Lol!
Love the spydie wire clip.
My M-F work blade EDC consists of 1 high quality folding knife (XM-18, Sebenza, Shaman, ZT0305, Kershaw Bareknuckle 20cv), 1 hard working fixed blade (Esee Izula, Esee 3, Guardian 3, Nyala, Esee 4), and 1 multi-tool (Pioneer X, Skeletool, Centerdrive, OHT, Dime).
Ive been carrying a Spyderco Smock for the past week or so and it is fantastic at work, and is fairly unassuming so should work for an office as well. The Bugout or a Boker Urban Trapper would be some I would grab from my collection for an office job.
My all time favorite is my kizer fiest. Can’t go wrong with a fiest. I carry that more than my bugout
What I have carried and should carry: LionSteel Mini, Spyderco Para 3 Lightweight, Viper Dan 2. What I usually carry: Boker Kingpin, Lionsteel Big Opera, Viper Kyomi.
Also an office/gentlemen's carry knife that I have that I didn't see is a Kershaw Leek but the one with Carbon Fiber scales and a CPM-154 blade. Looks nice, cool flipper, and great at opening letters lol
Great knife to have in the pocket in the office environment is for sure the SAK Tinker or Spartan!
Good look, Zac- looks like you just joined the Corps!! 😀👍😀
I'm a school teacher. I carry a CRKT Swindle. It's nice and slim.
Buck 110, 112, in a handmade belt sheath. Cold Steel Pocket Bushman in a hand made sheath. Swiss Army small knife.
I've used a Spyderco Spin Etched as a tie clip on numerous. Had some people comment on how interesting the tie clip was, but no one realized it was a knife. Still use it for times when "scary" knives might not be best.
EDC Spyderco Para2 full serrated. Just recently started carrying Lionsteel M4 most of the time too. Taco Bell order; Grilled stuffed burrito, two double decker tacos, large root beer.
When he pulled out the like cleaver machete around 42 mins in I was dying 😂
@johnruiz6743

That cleaver knife would cause alarm where I work So would the one that looks like a straight razor...🤣
I wear a suit as a State Rep , always have my James Brand Elko and/or Boker Kansei. Both work well with dress pants!
I absolutely love the wire clip.
Spyderco manix2 xl with a lynch clip is everyday carry. I carry a “non offensive knife” as well, usually a GEC.
Benchmade mini grip is my daily, but always have a classic Sd in my key chain just in case. I use that tooth pick all the time
