I live in Alaska, and I was surprised that was the knife of choice. I personally carry fixed blade as my edc.

Yea I don't understand using the launch 4. I also live in Alaska and carry a Spyderco pm2, and a Leatherman free. I only carry a fixed blade if I'm spending a lot of time in the woods, although I do keep a buck special in my truck.

Apparently they’re not going by sales to each state since they couldn’t ship one there. They’re just selling knives. Not bashing blade hq I’ve bought several off of them.

I lived in Alaska and even worked as a zipline tour guide for a bit. I often went exploring in the back woods, climbing mountains etc. I carried a Spyderco Military. While i never fought a bear I did have some VERY close encounters on multiple occasions given that I lived near a estuary.

Lol I may have swayed the plus strike in Maine. I have bought 4 myself. It started with one for me and then another for a friend. I lost my original deer hunting during a big snow storm. I then ordered one for me and my brother for christmas last year. This spring I was fixing my tree stand and while clearing brush looked under a tree and the knife was sitting next to a rock under a bit of leaves still on a small bit of snow. I saw the glint off the clip. Picked it up and it still immediately fired strong just like the day I bought it. Such a tough knife.

I watch Zac and Kurt pretty much every week and I am often reminded that these two (as well as the other employees at BHQ) are so genuine and I really appreciate that, especially because they do represent a company but the fact that they are obviously good people I am happy to support a company that hires good honest thoughtful people.... that was a nice thing to say for your buddy

Thanks for another entertaining and just fun video. Notable, this is only knives purchased from blade hq, so take that for what it is.

I'm in Nevada and My Favorite knife is Benchmade's CLA. I have two, because I never want to be without it when I eventually send it off to them for their service, and maybe because I couldn't decide between the all black one and the green one, lol!

when im in Alaska I only carry fixed blades, mostly my esee 4 or tops trekker in Washington its all about that xm-18 3" and berg blades slim!

Me too. Unfortunately I think I contributed to the problem. When I bought my kershaw/Emerson, the lockup was so bad that I took it apart the day I bought it and never was able to get it back together because of the cheap screws and hardware. Oh well.

After having owned both I actually prefer the Para 3 lightweight to the Bugout. I prefer the axis lock but something about the Para 3 just speaks to me more. I can't wait till Spyderco starts putting out sprint runs.

The Alaskan edc should be the cold steel halberd. Period.

I'm from PA and I EDC either a SOG Flash II or a SOG Aegis Tanto. The Flash II has such a low profile and a satisfying "snap" when it opens.

I own Benchmade Adams/bugout/griptillian, Spyderco para 3 and countless kershaw and gerbers. My favorite knife is the buck rush. I’m on my third one and I honestly don’t like assist knifes, i don’t know what brings me back to it but I love the knife. Been carrying a buck rush since 2006

You guys should audition for America's Got Talent...even my stitches hurt! This is the best knife show I have ever seen. Thank you for the laughs. BTW the knife show was cool, too. My favorite EDC knife is a Ken Onion (Kershaw) I bought in 1995 from the Snap On dealer who came to our hangar (helicopter business) weekly. I paid $85 for it then and it still looks like the day I bought it minus the clip I lost somewhere on a hike in Maui. OMG. Zac, that Kentucky Derby joke was so stupid but I can't quit laughing.

@@davidhazel1206 yeah I get that for sure. On the contrary, I'm not a fan of skinny blades because I tend to do alot of cutting that requires some belly in my blades in my everyday life. That full flat grind and leaf shaped blade really slices like a bat out of hell. But the para 3 lw really isnt bad in the pocket whatsoever I regularly carry one wearing basketball shorts and keep my phone and a lighter in the same pocket. It carries quite deep and off to the side. I used to be on the same page as you, id recommended just trying one out. Once I did I couldn't turn back Haha they are shaped that way for a reason. Because they are made to do some serious slicing. If you want to spend more, spyderco has some interesting options from different designers that may be more in your wheelhouse, like the ikuchi

Now I have to move back to Delaware for the mermaid movement!!

On the flip side, I've never heard anyone comment when I pull out my Leatherman Wave. I think its just the flipping action or the statement the blade makes that makes people uneasy. A Leatherman looks more like a tool compared to a "weapon". Just have to read the room, I suppose. Know your audience.

I specifically carry a Leatherman so I don't have to use my blade for anything other than cutting. Why would anybody damage their tools or knives? It is unnecessary to say the least!

I think if I worked for bladehq, I’d just be handing my paycheck back over to them, maybe I could just be payed in knives🤔

So far my favorite knives I got in my collection are the benchmade bugout and the spyderco para 3 but the knife I carry around is my benchmade or my launch 4/11

The things I really like about Emersons are: 1. the asymmetrical V grind is really easy to sharpen. 2. They will replace the locking liner (pre-covid for free), unlike Hinderer, who says, "Well, that's the lifetime of the knife. And we can't it doesn't work like that" - I paid $500 for this XM-18 and used it everyday for 7 years, I feel for a premium knife like that, they should replace it. And I know you can, these are CNC ground, you got a template. I didn't safe queen this thing like most people, knives are made to be used!!!!!! 3. They'll replace the whole damn blade, though it is a little pricey $150 last time I checked, but for a model that isn't made anymore, and you love it.... it's worth it. 4. The wave opener. 5. The g-10 actually gets really smooth if you carry and handle it for a week. Still grippy, but no-where near the sandpaper feel that many say. I know I dinged Hinderer a bit, but I did get another Xm-18. The Xm-18 wharncliffe and the Emerson Seax are my interchangeable EDC's. And when the XM had some lock slip, they did fix that. But not replacing the lock gets me.
