Nobody likes automatic knives. Everybody loves them

Autos are fun to play with but i like the extra control of a manual thumbstud knife if im going to nervously use it In public

@@Tony-bo3rw why would you “nervously” use it..?

@@KimballPrecisionRifles Knives come in many interesting shapes and mechanisms but some people will assume you are a killer because you like them. I remember i once cut down a large slushie cup (that was about 3/4ths empty) to a smaller size so i wouldnt awkwardly reach around inside of it with the little disposable spoon I had. My de-assisted Kershaw knockout came in handy and nobody seemed to notice i used it. Edit- most of the time i used one nobody gave me crud for it.

My country is TERRIFIED by autos. Funny thing is we kinda "made autos popular" with the stiletto but still police will freak out if they find you in possession of one or anything even spring assisted.

Thank you. That was the most complete run down of autos I have seen. I added 4 to my list of must haves that I didn't know existed. Stay strong brothers.
Love the lineup. Thanks
Great presentation… Luv autos. Great background also one of the best. I will watch this again to decide which ones to add to my collection.
So sad I lost my launch 4. Loved that little knife. Such a snappy action
Awesome information covering every use and price point
Well done. Lots to choose from.
I recently got a boker Kalashnikov somewhat recently and I absolutely love it, it goes with me everywhere I go, except for airports of course
Autos are amazing! Knives i personally carry a Boker Kalashnikov all black classic and Great knife!
Good job great presentation.
Interesting automatic knife review for camping, hunting, etc. I appreciate the prices being shown. Very helpful.
Freaking Awesome , love the content.
Video about axis and button lock comparison is a grear idea I would watch it 100%
I like the Kalashnikov it looks nice and it's fast deployment. I don't really like Benchmade myself but everyone is different. The best knife for anyone is the one they like and want; everyone is different. Thank you for the review.
My launch 15 is in the mail! Been waiting almost 2 years for my pre-ordered Autonomy 2.
Except that according to the Blade HQ site, there aren't any of the Pro-Tech Whiskers in stock. And they rarely are in stock anywhere. My suggestion would be to pick up a Buck Paradigm Shift Auto (which they do have in stock). Same type of bolster release mechanism. A 3 inch S35VN blade with G10 handles that, in my opinion, has really nice ergonomics.
Great video… I’m always looking for a new auto … thanks
First off, great video, I really enjoyed watching all those different blades, having a few of them myself I can say my Spyderco Autonomy 2 w/ 3.5" LC200N Drop Point Plain edge is one of my top 3 Autos, BUT MY 06 AUTO IS THE SLOWEST OPENING KNIFE I OWN! It's such an OXYMORON! NO matter what I try it's so slow it doesn't always engage, only about 60-70% of the time!
I have to take exception to something that you said. You labeled many of these knives as great outdoor knives. I live on 40 acres out in the woods, in the Northwest. Four months out of the year a metal handled knife is going to be uncomfortable to use. And if you want to warm it up, just leave it on a picnic table, in July. After 30, or 45 minutes, it will no longer be cold. As I used all of my knives, a metal handled knife is a deal-breaker, for me. Yet, it seems like half the knives out there are metal handled. I would love to hear from other people, why this isn't a big deal, for them.

I like Buck since I grew up using them hunting and carving sticks but man their edges are rough and sharpened past the plunge so you get a smile right out the gate. I think I’d definitely go protech or Kershaw for design and quality.
I really like that buck 112 auto elites bronzeish looking finish very pretty!
I have a Launch 11 and it is a great knife to have and hold.

Also, I love the Benchmade Osborne 9400. I have a lot of Benchmade knives. They are the best.
For tactical autos, you missed the Benchmade AFO II. It's probably the most common auto I see in people's pockets in the army.

The only automatic knife, I have accepted to buy was the leak but I took out the speed safe and now it’s my EDC for the last year and a half
the casbah doesnt get much attention but i love it.
Been carrying the Benchmade Osborne 9400 since it came out. Very suprised with how well it holds an edge, is easy to get crazy sharp and still springs open just as fast as the day I bought it which is crazy because I've probably deployed the knife over 100k times by now...
Launch 11 is my EDC… perfect size
I'm more into the traditional Italian knife styles, of which I have two excellent AKC's and a Frank B, all purched from Blade Hq. Still, it's enjoyable watching this!
Bring back WOW
I find it hilarious DA otfs are iffy in many states but much saver that any folder for most people. It’s just a button no fumbling around the blade. And can barely break skin with auto deployment, with proper build of the derailing mechanism.
i have the boker kalshnikov! i'm so glad that it made its appearance on this video! the only downside that i found about it is the clip moves overtime.

If you want a good quality USA made Auto that doesn't cost a ton, get a Kershaw Launch. They are really great and use great materials. I had the Launch 1 and absolutely loved it. I was very surprised how well made they are for the price.
I’ve been carrying the launch 11 for a couple years now and it’s so f*cking good.
Loved this review. I. In the market but not knowledgeable. Whose blades keep their edge best, whose keeps them worst, amd is the margin of difference between them all that large? Also wondering, is their a disadvantage in a partially serrated blade ?
If you work for a living like I do then you may be able to purchase one of the bokers. Those benchmade knives look great. Congrats to whoever's buying that.

Under the Benchmade brand, you completely missed the Mediator. A great bridge between EDC and defense knife. Thin and lightweight enough to be a daily pocket knife, strong enough to plunge cut and slice with.

DANG YOU!!! I just ordered one more!!! BTW, Please consider putting together a review of autos that are truly left handed or ambidextrous. We lefties really don't like making due with right handed autos that mostly work left handed. Thanks!!
I love how the Gerber has huge white lettering “made in orgegon”. Just looks cool
Blade HQ give this man a raise! My man keeps coming on camera and just keeps getting better. His nice/smooth personality shows and makes the videos very enjoyable!
You talked about using an automatic knife for fish and game. I have not taken one apart. How easy is that to do? In order to clean it
I want it!
Need some for us left handed people.
The Omega springs that power the Axis lock on the Benchmade Adamas will break after about six months of use (on the auto, not the manual). The remedy is to buy piano/music wire and fabricate your own springs. The diameter of the music wire is considerably larger than the stock wire. You'll know the Omegas are on the verge of breaking when you start getting rock lock.

@bob neutron I had a microtech stitch for five years of daily use. No issues. Protech Don, 3 years, no issues. These issues could be resolved, but when they overcharge for a knife, why bother. They can give you a lifetime of springs and not make a dent in the profit margin.
How would the microtech ludt compare to the adamas in strength? my votes on the microtech

Don't care for autos in general, but I am a Spyderco fan boy.....
Great video, but no Protech TR1 & 2? They are my favourite production side opening autos, with lots of variants, but seem to get overlooked a lot. If our stupid laws allowed autos, they'd be my first purchase. Just a heads up, i don't know if you noticed, but there was a big crack the length of the wood handle of the AGA Campolin.
Hey I couldn't watch this with valium cuz of where I am right now but what was up with the first knife in this video wy did it have 2 buttons on it? What does the other one do?
I’m confused I went to the website and tried to buy a Boker Kalishnikov. Auto knives are legal to own in my state but I couldn’t get the order to go through because it says you cant ship one over state lines?
I was actually looking at an axe video to find out what that was because I seen it while searching for a camping axe on safari
You have found yer stride, George!
You guys raised your prices I can get a leek cheaper in the store than on your website!
I'm disappointed that you didn't even mention the Operator colorway from Pro-tech. I own 3 and they are awesome.
"It doesn't have a lot of edge but it's enough to get the job done"...yep, I hear you 😂.
I’ve bought a couple full size Kalashnikov’s and they don’t hold up. The frame isn’t strong enough for the spring action.
Do you guys have any thoughts on Regiment Blades knives?
@BladeHQ
Жыл бұрын
I've never held one, but from what I can tell they're purpose-built tactical blades. If you're after a self-defense knife, they will probably serve you well. If all you need is something to open boxes and slice apples with, I might go for something more traditional. But knives are a choose-your-own-adventure hobby! If a Regiment Blade speaks to you, send it! You have my blessing! -George
Hi,Protech Magic BR-1 still in stock?

What about the microtech Stitch and the microtech ludt???
@davidgarrett5671
Жыл бұрын
In the Stitch they only have 2 Marfione customs starting at $2,700, they have no Ludts in stock so they would have nothing to show.
The Lundquist or "Alluvial" has a major design flaw. The lock up is not perfect. The blade can come out slightly while remaining locked. This plus being a tip up carry means a very bad time. I learned this the hard way. Gave myself about a 15mm long 5mm deep gash right in the pad of my thumb. Probably should have gotten stitches on this one but super glue works. Its a great knife otherwise but this flaw means I will not be carrying it until I reprofile the blade. They say is drop point its more of a straight blade but I will be making mine more a drop point so if they blade comes out a bit the tip will not be what I encounter. Seriously my first day carrying it and that happened. I am a little upset.
I like your videos. I'm not a game person but I would assume that a folder is never good for skinning game. I would think it's going to all kinds of stuff in it's mechanism. I would prefer a fixed blade for that job. It can be easily cleaned.
