@@KimballPrecisionRifles Knives come in many interesting shapes and mechanisms but some people will assume you are a killer because you like them. I remember i once cut down a large slushie cup (that was about 3/4ths empty) to a smaller size so i wouldnt awkwardly reach around inside of it with the little disposable spoon I had. My de-assisted Kershaw knockout came in handy and nobody seemed to notice i used it. Edit- most of the time i used one nobody gave me crud for it.

Except that according to the Blade HQ site, there aren't any of the Pro-Tech Whiskers in stock. And they rarely are in stock anywhere. My suggestion would be to pick up a Buck Paradigm Shift Auto (which they do have in stock). Same type of bolster release mechanism. A 3 inch S35VN blade with G10 handles that, in my opinion, has really nice ergonomics.

It's such an OXYMORON! NO matter what I try it's so slow it doesn't always engage, only about 60-70% of the time!

I have to take exception to something that you said. You labeled many of these knives as great outdoor knives. I live on 40 acres out in the woods, in the Northwest. Four months out of the year a metal handled knife is going to be uncomfortable to use. And if you want to warm it up, just leave it on a picnic table, in July. After 30, or 45 minutes, it will no longer be cold. As I used all of my knives, a metal handled knife is a deal-breaker, for me. Yet, it seems like half the knives out there are metal handled. I would love to hear from other people, why this isn't a big deal, for them.

The Omega springs that power the Axis lock on the Benchmade Adamas will break after about six months of use (on the auto, not the manual). The remedy is to buy piano/music wire and fabricate your own springs. The diameter of the music wire is considerably larger than the stock wire. You'll know the Omegas are on the verge of breaking when you start getting rock lock.

The Lundquist or "Alluvial" has a major design flaw. The lock up is not perfect. The blade can come out slightly while remaining locked. This plus being a tip up carry means a very bad time. I learned this the hard way. Gave myself about a 15mm long 5mm deep gash right in the pad of my thumb. Probably should have gotten stitches on this one but super glue works. Its a great knife otherwise but this flaw means I will not be carrying it until I reprofile the blade. They say is drop point its more of a straight blade but I will be making mine more a drop point so if they blade comes out a bit the tip will not be what I encounter. Seriously my first day carrying it and that happened. I am a little upset.

Launch 1 is probably the only good-looking one of the series. Don't be fooled by the reinforced tip bevels and try to plunge. Stick to slicing if you don't want to lose a finger or put so grip tape and hope for the best.

As a 40+ year knife collector, even if these knives were 50% off in price, they'd still be not worth it. Value to price ratio is WAY OFF!

I would like a recommendation for a really good tactical knife under $200. Something even $100 would be even better if possible but it's just something I'm curious about

Lol, i legitimately only want a glorified box cutter for my daily pocketknife. I used to use a real box cutter for work and got tired of buying razor blades for it. Give me a real knife that i can sharpen to take out all those boxes.

I would say the runt 5 is right up your alley. If you want a bigger handle go with the protech half breed
