There is a very thin line between love, betrayal and suffering ...

not at all...it’s called narcissistic personality disorder and sociopathy. These people will lie and fake illnesses, emotions, everything in order to get what they want. Sometimes it’s not even money they are after, just sex, or affection, anything they can get. Deep down they are ghosts, insecure and non-existent sponges. I know this because this happened to me too. When I saw the film I guessed everything midway through and was shocked at my accurate guesses. This is narcissistic personality disorder 101

No no... If you watch the movie carefully, it's not a bad ending. You see, the guy is no longer an asshole. He's a nice person now, he doesn't have gloves anymore. He tips people to be generous. He got out of his OWN room he was locked himself away in (his painting vault) to experience the world. Now he will meet Claire again. Claire actually made him promise in the attic, don't ever leave me like he did in Prague. He walked into the restaurant and gears everywhere... Guess who built the gears in that restaurant? The engineer lol. Yeah, on my 1st watch it felt horrible. 2nd watch, I was like oh this is a very good ending. He will meet Claire again. Whether you want to think that he will meet Claire by surprise or they planned on it is up to one's own interpretation. He's not waiting at that restaurant and have the house by the plaza in vein. Every forger leaves a part of themselves... That's was Claire admitting she was in Prague either purposefully as a hint because she loved him, or rather because she let it slip unconsciously. There's a lot of very subtle things in the movie. And no he didn't go crazy and die in the hospital and all that was in his head like some have mistakenly interpreted. They strapped him onto that spinning machine that cured him, which symbolized a broken GEAR being FIXED. oh yes. That's why all those gears were turning in the restaurant, he's fixed now. And he needed to lose those paintings anyways they were stolen in the first place. S T O L E N. That's why he never went to the police... He would misidentify pieces and get his friend to bid on them and close the bid really quickly to him.
