This is a fantastic match and I really enjoyed the commentary. I don't need a professional from ESPN with a pro with a telestrator, dumbing it down for me every time a pro is going three rails. These guys are genuine, honest and excited. They agree and support each other without trying to "one up" each other, they disagree without being disagreeable, they are knowledgeable but admit they are surprised when a player takes a different path or makes a different strategic choice. They use metaphors and analogies, blended with colloquialisms. You feel like you are hanging with a couple of veteran players from your pool hall. We need more of this.

You've got to get rid of that illegal break rule. It's setting a precedent that will be harder to change. Jayson makes a hard break and deserves to run his rack but loses it because of this rule. If a soft break is so feared, measure the ball speed, say less than 15 mph or 12 mph would be illegal or non-regulation. That would do it much more fairer.

There is a 3-point rule on the break. You get a point for each ball pocketed and a point for each ball that passes the head string. Score less than 3 and it's a non-compliant break. The opponent has the option of shooting or giving it back to the breaker. It's an insane rule.

Pool is such a cruel game, can you believe he was breaking for the match and did an illegal break, hence why he had to kick at the one ball and ended up giving ball in hand. Ko only came to the table once / twice to safeties that were well played by Jason. Ko had a lot of luck with the 6 dropping and the white staying up, but Jayson Shaw just absolutely ripped the table apart and played like he had nothing to lose until the last tense rack. What a match!

The break rule thing is perhaps the stupidest thing I think I've seen in rules making in billiards. If they are worried about Corey Duel type break then I think break speed would be a better more accurate type of break rule. It's not like that technology isn't available. Say something like a break speed over 18mph is legal, less than 18mph is illegal break.

I never heard of him I've been playing and watching tournaments since the 60's. And mark Wilson never said a word to the contrary! I for one am getting sick and tired of these commentators down grading the player who compete. I know of guys who love the game and play every chance they get and don't rise the the pro's just because they can't afford to spend 8-12 hrs. a day on the table because like myself have a family to feed and make sure there children have a roof over their head. I for one "like a lot of guys worked 8hrs. a day and played after work for a couple of hrs. So who is this mutt? is he a player or just a banger. Listen if it weren't for these "dogs" as you call them there wouldn't be a US Open or any other tournament. I for one hope I never hear "Ra Hanna"" or Mark Wilson's" name from the commentators box. I much rather hear Danny D or 'Jeremy Jones" ,someone who has a lot more tournament experience.

That 3 point rule on the break is BS. You have got to come up with another way to avoid the soft break.

Why did Ko keep using that stupid breakshot? He scratches too many times, and when he did not scratch, most of them because it luckily got kicked by other balls

Ko pin yi made serious mental mistakes; there is no sense in pulling that push out and leaving the ball; paid the security of the score. The other push also played badly. A lesson that will long remember. Honor to Shaw for believing it.

The first 18 minutes of the match have had 3 scratches on the break and a 4th illegal break. This is definitely not the best match for 2016 based just on this. I don't know who titled this video, but they are wrong. Try again.

We this, we that, like Americans actually know how to play, 9 ball= meh, 8 ball=Skills ,it's like American football v actual football, we tried to make it our own, then failed......... That's why Americans call everything the world cup(But only in america) because in the actual world stage WORLD CUP is only a dream.

Mark wilson is always an excellent commentator, however I do not care for his commentating partner here, he sounds like he grew up near harlem..and Im so sick of all the "wows" he said...someone who has a old sweaty sock..please insert into his mouth, thankyou in advance. And as far as shaw, I always want him to lose due to his unsportsman like behaviour, when he was playing earl, and ref sided with earl, then shaw kept crying..so senior ref looked at tape..and they both sided with earl, then poor sport shaw takes ball and slings it across table and forfiets.. but you never hear this brought up by commentators.. Its mindless players like shaw that give pool a bad name. earl and shaws game was either straight pool or one pocket.
