Agreed. Seems like we all have the same issues when it comes to soloing, Getting stuck in "the box" and we want to break out and don't know where to go. I'll be working on this lesson till it's burned into my brain. Thanks!
Easily the most clear, concise, and straight to the point guitar tutorials.
Jules; you used parts of all 5 pentatonic shapes to make going horizontally up and down the neck simple. This was a breakthrough for me. Because I know all 5 shapes but struggled with making them sound musical. I now realize I needed less notes and more feeling in my improvisation. Thank you!

Yes. Me 2. :)
Great lesson. Keep posting simple and beginner friendly yet useful stuff like this. I'm fed up of watching complicated guitar lessons where the guy just shows off with no proper explanation, forcing me to stop watching midway.

Are you serious that this dude fixed what was ailing you, I still have yet to understand about the one chord three chord all of that I know some chords and I can play scales but it sound like you had an epiphany of some type so go forth and teach,, me tell me what part cleared it up for you

@John Ryan I'm not a teacher and explaining what I see is never my strong point. Sorry can't help there. A lot of these guys create more confusion than clarity for me anyway

@@johnryan527 What Jules is doing is this: He took all 5 pentatonic shapes and just used parts of them to make going horizontally up and down the neck simple. It took me about 3 weeks to learn the other 4 pentatonic positions beyond the standard one which most know (that starts on the 6th string 5th fret A). Once you learn those - one can easily recognize what Jules did here. What I like is Jules took a lot of theory and work and broke it down into something simple to deploy immediately with a bit of practice. I'd say one can knock out 75% of all popular song solos with the notes he used in this vid across the neck. But I would need a musician to confirm my hunch.
I've been playing off and on for 44 years and I've never seen this before! Thank you so much Jules! You've unlocked many possibilities for me. 👏👏👏
BRAH! Where have you been all my life? I this has to the best and easiest pentatonic lesson out there. I have been struggling for years and you just put it all together for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you
This is such a useable concept, simple, yet so effective! You are a great teacher, cheers from Greece, many thanks!
Thanks for this lesson!
So cool, Jules. Those solos sound absolutely killer over your backing track. Great lesson. You're one of my new favourite channels.
You've hit the sweet spot with just right amount of info without unnecessarily overcomplicating the lesson thanks Jules much appreciated don't change a thing.
I have learned a lot from you. Thanks
Best teacher on the tube. Stellar work sir! Thanks for taking the time

Very simple but straight forward lesson. I appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise with use.😊
Awesome way to connect the major pentatonic scale positions to all the juicy notes! Thank you
Genuinely wonderful, lovely solo too.
Great lesson and powerful techniques. This is definitely my favourite guitar tuition channel.
Thankyou for these really helpful videos Jules. They help you get started on soloing without getting bogged down in theory. Knowing these patterns helps you solidify the theory later on.
One of the best lessons ever! I felt like you genuinely wanted us to know. Not just to sell a product.
One of the most simple yet effective lesson... Superb!!
Awesome way to break out of the minor pentatonic. Thanks for pointing many of us in a new musical direction
This is a really great macgyvering way to make learning a scale easy and fun. Great job. I like when people find ways around the more standard sterile way of learning a scale
Hey Jules you and Angela Petrilli are the reason I havent given up on learning the guitar at my late age of 66. Your a great teacher thanks.
Clear and straight to the point explanation. Thank you!
What an incredibly practical & straight forward way to cut through all of the superfluous thinking regarding the Pentatonic ! Thanks Jules - there is always something to Take Away from your Tutorials! Jay - NYC
This is brilliant! Been playing guitar a long time and have never seen this approach before. I've always struggled with major soloing as I always end up sounding minor bluesy. This might have finally cracked the major code for me! Eternally grateful 🙏
Fantastic teaching! Clean and clear and a perfect pace! Thanks much!
What a fantastic explanation of constructing a solo. Jules you would have to be one of the best guitar tutors on the internet. Thanks from New Zealand.💯
Thank you so much for pointing this simple way of getting the most out of the keyboard while soloing.
I can not thank you enough, you have opened up the world of guitar for me.
Crazy helpful! Really well explained and accessible - opened up a whole new dimension for me! Thank you!
Great lesson thanks. Nice that you gave solo examples and not just a scale pattern. Thank you
Great video sir. I appreciate what you do for the guitar community.
I only recently had your channel show up in my algorithm. It’s already been a massive help in making me understand better use of the fret, and better soloing. I’ve been playing for quite a while but am so stuck in that intermediate range that it just seems pointless to pick up one of my guitars and just play the same stuff over and over. These five me things to work on. Even my wife, who’s one of Canada’s top opera singers actually said she couldn’t believe I was just sitting there “noodling” away. Her brother is VERY good so it’s intimidating as hell to go over and try to keep up with that level of ability. Again, thx and I’m subscribe. All the best. -D. 😎
Thank you so much for this lesson, I've played guitar for a while but just recently decided to start learning my scales and this is the first time things have really clicked for me!
Hi Jules, You are fast becoming my favorite teacher on You Tube. Every lesson helps me to move quantum leaps forward in my playing. After practicing this lesson I felt I might actually get to Rock God Status sooner than later. Thanks for the great content.
You make it so much easier to follow, unlike some people who get carried away with themselves, thanks Jules
Honestly, after twelve years of learning guitar from various sources, that has to be the single most useful tool I have yet seen. Thank you so much for that lesson!
Thank you very much Jules, this was *very* helpful. The shapes and how they interconnect are much clearer now!

I've found this video really good an insight into how music is put together. I'm somewhat of a novice and have never studied music so this goes along way into explaining how everything comes together. I'd love to have a tutor like you at hand, excellent stuff and very informative. Thank you
I think the most important thing for guitar beginners is interest and repetition. As I listen to your music, the joy of practicing hard rises within me. Thank you, very much.
