The Best K-pop Song of All Time
Музыка
The analysis of One of These Nights, the best K-pop tune of all time (probably not but it's a nice tune).
One of These Nights: • Red Velvet 레드벨벳 '7월 7일...
The first note of measure 54 is supposed to be an E instead of G. Oopsies.
Thanks for waiting for this vid, I know it's been a while but I'll try to upload more frequently.

i actually remember that lol
This is great content, I remember how speechless I was listening to it the day it was released (like, the audacity). Thanks for giving this song the detailed analysis it deserves.
such high quality content- thanks so much, I'm learning a lot from your channel!
NO WAY this is amazing! i wish to know this much about theory but harmonic analysis hard brain hurts lol (22:12 'harmonic overstimulation' sounds cool af)
Thank you so much for this video, it's really eye (ear to be exact) opening, this will definitely kicks up my composition a few notch, thank you very much ❤️❤️❤️
Need more people to break down the theory in kpop 😭
"the pianist got bored" 우리다시냉면
Absolutely amazing in-depth analysis. Love the explanations and I'm glad I subbed. Keep up the great work! Are you interested in writing for K-pop??
Loved the analysis. Cool content, thx. Maybe sometimes you could play the chords on piano directly when speaking about them? Just an idea.

will try to do in the future, thx!
Thanks so much for making me aware of the existence of this song. The plain melody could have been done in a standard K-ballad way (i.e. BORING as hell), but all of those harmonic tricks you highlighted here (especially that pre-chorus-to-chorus modulation) make it really special. And then the style of R&B they went with is also not K-ballad standard. As you noted, more meditative, reminding me of multiple tracks from Janelle Monae's Dirty Computer album. Those two "the pianist got bored/went off the deep end" jokes were perfect, but it also highlights how much even the arrangement musicians recognized how unique the harmonies of the song were, responding in kind. I can easily imagine the recording session and the staff involved cackling hard after that take of measure 62/63.
this one is also awesome
Great!I did not know K-Pop was so complex
Hype
I love your videos but the bits in this one when the blurred background doesn't have anything on top of it made my head hurt. 😳

thanks for the feedback, i've been afraid of getting copyright striked by the kpop lawyers so I've been blurring the background vids, but I'll look into alternative footage. thx!
