The Best Hummus Recipe in Just 5 Minutes | Smooth Texture | Easier Than You Think!

Ойын-сауық

Discover the only hummus recipe you'll ever need! This video will guide you through making easy, 5-minute hummus with a perfect, smooth texture. Simple ingredients and quick steps lead to a delicious result, ideal for snacking or as a versatile side. Perfect for beginners and seasoned cooks alike, this recipe guarantees homemade hummus that outshines store-bought versions every time. Get ready to enjoy the creamiest hummus with minimal effort!
1 pack boiled chickpeas (400 g)
1 garlic clove
½ lemon juice
3 ice cubes
3 tablespoons tahini
½ teaspoon salt
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
Topping:
1 pinch of cumin
1 pinch of sumac
2-3 sprigs parsley
1 tablespoon olive oil
- For a perfectly smooth hummus first you need to peel the chickpeas. Add 400 gr canned chickpeas in a large bowl and rub to take the skin of. Fill the bowl with water and the skins will start to float. When you drain, skins will group on water and it will be much easier to collect. (Skip this step if you really need to do the recipe in 5 minutes)
- Add chickpeas, garlic, salt, tahini and olive oil to the food processor.
- Squeeze lemon juice and run for at a low-medium speed.
- While the food processor is working the hummus will get warm. To avoid that add ice gradually. Ice will help to make a smooth hummus as well.
- After a couple of minutes the hummus will be okay but not smooth enough. Don’t give up and continue until the hummus is creamy. You can run at high speed at this stage.
- Taste and adjust the lemon, tahini and salt to your taste. Garlic and olive oil always need time to settle. If you have 2-3 hours before eating, the taste will be better.
- When the hummus is ready, put it on the serving table and make a little crater with the back of a spoon.
- Sprinkle ground sumac, cumin and parsley leaves. Last but not least, pour 2-3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
- Enjoy your creamy, tasty, simple hummus with your lavash or chips as your spoon!

I will watch anything you post; but my favourite ones are where you talk to us, sharing your stories about a recipe and interacting with your awesome crew. I don't think many of us who love to cook are looking forward for recipes where we will be running against time.

I agree with you on the rushed format. But in Refika's defense, the title of the video is "Hummus in 5 minutes", so, in all actuality, she was in a race against the clock to show that it could be done in 5 minutes. If I were to follow along with her making this, I would definitely slow down the playback speed.

I know there's a trend to do these kinds of time-crunching meals. Although I will watch anything you post, this format isn't my favourite. I love the way you reach out to us as if we are right there in the kitchen ... or wherever you are recording ... with you. I love how you interact with your team. I am inspired by your joy, your social justice activism, your caring, and your passion for everything. In videos where someone is competing with time, I feel tense and worried. There's enough stress in life. Is the goal is to show how easy it can be to eat good and flavourful food? I think that can be accomplished with the way you have fun with cooking. When you have fun cooking, I imagine myself having fun cooking. When I see you stressed out because of time, I imagine being stressed out because of time. I LOVE cooking. It is my hobby and passion. It is how I de-stress from the day. I think that's why I was so drawn to you and your team. I feel a kindredness and it makes my heart happy. I love watching your joy.

Refika, people use aquafaba instead of ice cubes and the taste doesn't dilute. I prefer starting the processor with the garlic first. So that they can be chopped beforehand. I love using canned/jarred chickpeas, too. This real-time video set up is purely perfect. I feel excited, anxious, stomachache in real time and all the mind slips, all the dilemmas you live instantenously - wouldn't change a bit. Thank you guys there for taking the cooking joy seriously and investing in it, working your backs off for it and always improving... I'm a big fan since day 1. [P.S. I'm heartbroken because Refikadan gave up investing in enamelware. They were your legacy.] ❤

I like your more relaxed format but the algorithm owns all the channels sadly. Feel free to do both kinds. I prefer using roasted garlic confit instead of sharp raw garlic and roasting my own sesame seeds for fresh tahini so your previous hummus recipe is likely the one I’ll stick with. No rush here. Just planning ahead instead. Happy spring!
