Justification for any controversial picks I may have made for this video: 1999, 2001, 2023: I picked these tying home runs over walk-off home runs because I feel like a 2-run shot to tie it when you’re on the brink of losing is actually bigger than a walk-off home run with the game tied. 2002: For some reason people say that Bonds’ home run from Game 2 was the best because it was an absolute moonshot, but it only brought the Giants to within a run and they lost immediately after. So I chose the go-ahead home run from the previous inning that won the game for the Angels. 2005: Late-game grand slam down 2 > walk-off while tied. 2006: I chose this home run over Pujols’ home run because when Pujols hit his the Cardinals already had the lead. 2008: While Blanton’s home run later in the series was amazing because he was a pitcher, the Phillies were already up 3 when he hit it. I think Utley’s Game 1 homer was bigger because it was a first-inning 2-run shot to start the World Series with a bang. 2009: Okay, this pick I would actually go back and change. Matsui’s home run from either Game 2 or Game 6 would’ve been a better choice. 2012: Tough choice here. I know Sandoval had a 3-homer game earlier in the series, but that game was a blowout. Posey’s home run was important because it gave the Giants the lead in the late-innings of the title-clinching game. 2016: I don’t really think this pick is controversial, but for anyone who thinks it is, a game-tying home run in the 8th inning of Game 7 is absolutely legendary. Yes, Cleveland lost in the end, but the home run remains unforgettable. 2017: This was the toughest choice I had to make for this video. I know so many people were expecting a home run from Game 5, and I understand because of how legendary that game was. But, I chose Marwin González’ home run from Game 2 because it tied the game in the 9th inning and saved the Astros from going down 2-0 in the series. If he didn’t hit that home run, the series would’ve looked a whole lot different. 2018: I chose Max Muncy’s 18th inning walk-off, but looking back on it I probably could’ve also chosen Mitch Moreland or Steve Pearce from Game 4. So, in the end, if I were to go back and change any of my picks, I would probably only change 2009 and 2018. Anyway, I hope you still enjoy the video even if you do disagree with a couple of my picks.

So many choices I would have made differently here, starting with 1999. Chad Curtis hit a walk off in the 10th, I'd think that would trump a tying HR in the 8th that just barely got out. Curtis's was a real good shot too. Idk if this was because of Curtis's post-playing career that you don't want to shine a light on him but to me the best HR is the best HR and that belonged to Curtis in 1999. 2000 - Jeter first pitch, that's fine. 2001 - Brosius, I like. 2002 - Bonds hit some TITANIC blasts in that series, including that same game 2. I'd have gone with that. Or maybe even Garrett Anderson's 3 run shot in game 6 that got the Angels back in the game. I know this won game 2 but by the time this powerhouse of a series was over, it was almost an afterthought. 2003 - Alex Gonzalez is the right play here 2004 - Bellhorn, yup fine here 2005 - I know Konerko's was a grand slam but you had Podsednik's walk off in Game 1, an everyday guy with no regular season homeruns. How wild is that? Then you had Geoff Blum's HR in the 14th inning of game 3, another role player. Either of those would be fine, I'd say Podsednik, but the grand slam by Konerko has to take a backseat because it didn't decide the game. 2006 - I don't even remember this one. Forgettable series though. I have no idea what HR I'd pick cause this series sucked ass 2007 - Pedroia leading off the series was quite memorable, that's fine 2008 - Gotta go with Blanton in Game 4, thought that would be an easy choice here. A pitcher going deep at home in a winning effort is pretty badass. 2009 - Giving this to Utley hurt me as a Yankee fan. I'd go with Matsui off Pedro in the late innings of Game 2 to win the game. You could also go with A-Rod's homer off the camera in Game 3 just for the novelty. I know this was a late tying HR but it did not decide the game and wasn't really that memorable all things considered 2010 - Renteria's is the only choice, fine here 2011 - Freese is the only choice, fine here 2012 - Sandoval hit 3 homers in Game 1. I think the 3rd of his 3 should get the nod here because that was a spectacle. I do not remember this Posey homer. 2013 - Ortiz hit a few homers in an unbelievable series MVP effort but I think you still picked the right one here 2014 - I do not remember any home runs from this series, so I guess. I just think seeing Hunter Pence go deep is odd, his stance has no suggestion of power in it. 2015 - Alex Gordon's tying HR in the 9th of Game 1 yeah that's right. David Wright's shot in Game 3 was also up there but this made the biggest difference. 2016 - Rajai Davis is the right one here. Incredibly dramatic game 7 comeback even in a losing effort. 2017 - Marwin Gonzalez in Game 2? No, there were so many good ones to go with in Game 5. Gurriel tying it off Kershaw was a bomb, Springer tying it later on was a bomb. Correa had a great fist pump celebration before first base. Any of these were better with the home crowd going nuts, later in the series, in an all time epic slugfest. Game 2 was lowkey underrated but Game 5 was where its at and there were so many bombs here to choose from. I couldn't even tell you which one of them I'd go with, just not Marwin in G2. 2018 - Muncy is the right call here 2019 - Kendrick is the only choice here 2020 - The big plays in this series I remember weren't homeruns, so I guess this one in Game 6 by Mookie is as good as any 2021 - I want to say Soler's game winner in Game 4 is the better HR because it was more dramatic but damn, this one in Game 6 is just such a bomb it takes your breath away. And it really was what put the Astros away for good. So I can't argue with this. 2022 - Alvarez shot in Game 6 is the right play 2023 - I'm a bit torn on whether it should be Seager or Garcia's walk off from Game 1 who gets the nod for this one. I like Garcia winning it, really put the exclamation point on the game, even if Seager's shot was more clutch.

As a Red Sox fan I feel like you nailed the biggest HR for 2004/2007/2013 but 2018 I gotta go with the Mitch Moreland 3-run bomb off Ryan Madson only because the Dodgers took back all the momentum after winning G3 and with a lead in G4 and after that Mitch bomb I felt like it was wraps.

Fellow Red Sox fan. I also thought that was going to be Mitch. 2007 I understand Pedroia's HR set the tone for the series. It's not a bad pick. But I'd still pick Kielty's pinch hit HR in the clincher for what turned out to be the needed insurance run to seal it.

It was a very tough choice but without the Game 2 home run the Astros would’ve gone down 2-0 in the series and things would’ve looked a lot different.

Great compilation but you really should add context to each one of these home runs. Because not all were winning homers of the game and not all were by the eventual champion. Unless your team was part of that moment or you’re just a baseball nut, you’re not going to know the significance of each one. I know what Freese’s homer in 2011 means for Texas, which can I can stomach now, but not necessarily other baseball fans will know.

as an astros fan, will never get sick of that Absolute NUKE from Yordan. I argue it was the swing that changed the modern baseball world. All the hatred for the astros was going full blast despite them making the alcs 6x before, but of course to the haters only winning a world series without cheating meant you were good. Yordan changed that. Forever grateful for that swing, and respectful to the Phillies as well, hoping they win a ws soon ngl
