I am writing a second comment because I am overwhelmed by this magnificent production. I have watched this show several times performed by both professional and amateur groups but this is by far the best. The diction was incredible too and I could hear every word. Congratulations to everyone involved, from England.

Valjean was a powerhouse. Fantine was remarkable, Eponine was beautiful and Javert was superb. These four have a very bright future ahead of them. What more can you say about a High School production of a very difficult masterpiece.

Les Mis always gets me in the feels but there is something special about this production. Of course the talent is outstanding (how can there be so much in one high school?!?) but it’s more than that. Les Miserables has been my favorite show since I was ten years old and now I'm...a lot older than ten. I turn 44 in November. I've been listening to this show for years. I've seen it four times. I own several different cast recordings and performances of it. I've also seen several high school performances of it. This is without a doubt the most talented group of young artists I've ever seen. I really hope the cast and crew and musicians read this. If you were involved in this show, feel free to reply and say hello. I'd love to tell you personally how wonderful I thought you were. Fantastic job. All of you. Keep doing what you're doing.

I don't understand why some people are shocked at the production values of the set or the physical maturity of some of the students. "The leads have real full beards so they must be college (or teacher) ringers!" "High school students simply don't have that vocal range!" Or "High school students can't focus on their acting skills for an entire show." What high school age students are YOU talking about? I'm a former high school teacher. There is such a wide spectrum of maturity amongst high school kids, both physically and mentally, socially and emotionally. I've had 9th grade boys in my classroom with full beards at 14 years old over the years, along with seniors who still look like they should be in middle school. I've had students who can converse on an adult level as well as seniors who can't string sentences together. Some students have natural singing ability, some have to work on it, and some can't carry the proverbial tune in a bucket. One thing I'll say, and it is bit of a cliche, but certain kids gravitate toward theater and chorus. Many are not into instrumental music like band or orchestra, and some like either the technical side such as light and sound, while others are content to be set design and stage crew. But those who want to perform (act/sing/dance) usually commit to their craft and take a surprisingly professional approach to their role. Are there a few just there for the social aspects or because mom and dad want them to get involved in something? Sure, but they quickly learn that, as awful as it may sound, the production, like an orchestra, is only as good as its weakest parts. Most step up to the challenge. I did drama/theater my four years of high school, and we strove to put on quality priductions. Some schools are better equipped financially to support the arts so they can get sets like this. My high school alma mater did Les Miserables in the early 2000's, well after i had graduated. It was not without controversy. Even though it was the student edition seen here (though i failed to see what was censored from the official version), a handful of community members were outraged and even picketed outside the school. They didn't disrupt the performances, but exercised their free speech to protest. My high school's production also featured the turntable (which was rented) and projected slides, but used recordings of the instrumental music that the kids sang live over. It was still effective, and probably nerve wracking as you didn't have a live ensemble able to "vamp" if you forgot your cue. They also used middle school or elementary students to play Gavroche and young Cossette. The drama teacher also made it a point that the kids researched the time period in which the play (and novel) were set along with the customs of those times, so they understood the themes and context better.

The school version of Les Miserables cuts are the counter point from the confrontation (the part where Vel Jean and Javert sing at the same time) and a verse from Look down the begers part, although lovely ladies has far worse things in it then are removed from that verse.

What an all star cast without hollywood. Brilliant high school. I am crying and when fantine started I dreamed a dream her perfomance was captviating and so beutiful but had me bawling like a babe. The talent of Jeanvaljean, Javette,Little and adult Cosettes and Little Eponin and adult and Marius oh just the whole lot was perfect. All the children you are so adorable. Please all who starred in this consider singing, and musicals. I'm 53 from Australia and this is a treat. Oh and the funny cons too were haliarios, So happy you tube reccomended this for me xx

Not only is this a superb production overall and possesses some stunning acting and vocal performances, top-notch staging, directing, costumes and lighting, it has an unbelievably wonderful orchestra. I felt like I was listening to a Broadway orchestra. Bravo to all of the musicians and the conductor. And a couple of the powerhouse chorus numbers brought me to tears...especially "One Day More"!

I had only got to the release of Valjean and the incident with the candlesticks and I can already tell this was an outstanding production of my favourite show! I studied French to A Level at school and loved it so much. I now speak fluent French. I read Les Miserables after leaving school and when I heard the musical for the first time, I couldn't believe how closely to the original plot Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil had achieved. Even the colloquialisms when translated to English are so accuarate. Well done Indian Hill High School! You have done a tremendous job in production and your principal characters are outstandingly good. Fantine - magnifique!!!!

I earned a Masters degree in Music/vocal performance and conducting. This was the best production of a Broadway show that I've ever had the privilege to watch! I had to keep reminding myself that these were High School students. Each and every character was on point with their vocals as well as their staging! The costumes and the set could have been on tour with the Broadway show. The ensemble numbers were so good that I could closely eyes and hear the cast album. I truly pray that we see many Broadway stars emerge from these talented young people!! Bravo!! To their teacher, you are exactly where God wants you to be and doing what He wants you to do! May you continue to change and perfect High School musicals!❤🎉❤
