The Best Frames for Skating flat: SYMETRICS vs KIZER FLUID V vs Ground Control FLT4

Спорт

This is a comparison of the Symetrics frame by Adapt, The Kizer Fluid V, and the new Ground Control FLT4 frame for skating flat (when you're old, mediocre, and mostly skate ledges).

@@RollOverTheHill Hey Chris, my fluid Vs finally showed up, however I'm having trouble setting them up. Wondering if you had any trouble with them. The frame spacers didn't come assembled and are almost impossible to install. Then, once they're in, I can't get the middle wheels in because they're too tight. I remember hearing about this issue with the Oysi medium frames. Didn't expect it with these. Am I doing something wrong? This is crazy. I'm not even sure I can set them up. Any advice appreciated.

Done! Man, that was a job. Used a tool to pull the frame walls apart and hammered the wheels in. My hands are sore, shards of metal from the frame wall spacers everywhere, but they're finally setup with black GC 57s on my black 909s with the Them Intuition liners. Looking sexy. I love white frames. Hopefully I'll get to test them out tomorrow. Not looking forward to the next time I've gotta change those inside wheels. I figure you didn't have the same issue, otherwise you would've mentioned it in a video. Got them from OAK City, so I'll send a message to Long and ask him if anyone else had issues.

I came here to say I watched this video and bought Kizer Fluid V afterwards. I got wheel bite on a down ledge and flew over the whole damn thing headfirst to land on my hands (instead of my head). Spent the night in the ER with dislocated metacarpals. Maybe 60s are too big for these but I hate these frames now haha

Interesting comparison man. I'm skating Them frames with the stock 56mm wheels at the moment, and I've had little/no wheelbite even when skating ledges. Got Fluid V, Symetrics and Kaltik to try next (not sure which yet!) but don't wanna switch out just yet.

  • @RollOverTheHill

I haven’t skated Create frames flat, but I know a lot of people do. My concern would be how wide the groove is. That generally leads to wheel bite.

Interesting. I nearly got suckered by the hype, but after seeing this I have decided I'm not buying the new FLT4s. I already have the Oysi frames and the fluid V and I just got the new kizer element 2.0 60mm flat frame. There is definitely something to be said for riding a more traditional flat setup. I think it feels better to roll on then if you have huge spacing between wheel 2 & 3 for some reason. I love my my poor man Symetrics. The only Symetrics things I own are their superfast black wheels, I would highly recommend them if you get the chance.

Have you tried the kizer slimline II frames? I've found they're amazing for flat setups. The groove is long like the flt4 but not as deep as it looks, no more than most frames. They look deep due to the extension of the wheel bite protection. I've never had such a light frame as well. They slide beautifully and do not wear down much at all even after hundreds of grinds although I am a rail man rather than ledges or street but I mainly grind rather than anything else. I've got the ground control mega frames too which are equally as amazing for flat but they are taller than I'm used to so it took a few attempts to get boot down but it's simply a case of slightly adjusting your technique. Also, both the kizer slimline II and the ground control mega frame are some of the fastest frames I've ever used!

I really liked the Osyi medium chassis, I’d say that’s as good or better than any of these in terms of wheel bite protection. That said, the spacing between the wheels is very wide and they require different sized wheels, so they aren’t a “traditional” flat setup. I found the original Oysi chassis to be a bit too tall for my preference.
