@@garroshhellscream594 It's simply a matter of fact that Garrus has less personality in ME1. He rarely cracks wise in ME1, and his sole character development is a conversation at the end in which Shepard can influence his attitude toward dealing with criminals... a choice which was made irrelevant in ME2 (BioWare effectively ignored the Paragon Shep choice), indicating that BioWare themselves decided it was necessary for Garrus's personality to evolve in a specific direction. Fortunately, it worked.

@@garroshhellscream594 He is. I actually really liked Garrus in ME1, I didn't realize people *didn't*. He was lovable the whole time. Never went on a mission without him and Tali (a few exceptions for story reasons.)

I was sad when the elevator chats stopped being a thing. Luckily the references held them alive in a tounge-in-cheek way.

For what it’s worth in mass effect Andromeda the characters talk at when you’re driving the nomad

i remember how much hate these elevator scenes got when the game was new. most people didnt realise that it was a loading screen in disguise. i always saw it as a clever solution. this is 10 times better and more entertaining as a static screen with concept art and the words "loading, please wait"

Garrus: "So I'm the only who misses when we used to chat in the elevators back on the citadel?" Wrex: "YEP!" Me: "Says the one who started the damn conversation"

I noticed that in second and third parts Garrus became more ironic and funny. In first game he was very serious and disciplined.

He grew up. He was canonically only in his mid-twenties when you met him in ME1. He was a young cop only beginning to learn about the brutality and corruption in the police system and government, and that's why he ended up a vigilante. In ME2 he learned that vengeance does not equal justice, and taking the system into your own hands doesn't necessarily make you happy or provide a solution to suffering. This left him in ME3 a much more balanced, mature individual who knew when to obey law and order and when to shatter it. I'm really proud of his character development.

There were a lot of complaints about how long the elevator rides (load times) were so they worked to speed them up. I guess they got too short for meaningful conversations. I missed them too.

Loading levels takes almost no time nowadays (depending on hardware) so there’s no need to artificially stretch those level inbetweens with chat. Fucking glad for that to be honest.

they only existed because the elevator rides were so long. in later games you still get conversations between the characters they just happen at predetermined points around the hubs. usually stairwells

The best reliable squad members in a straight up fire fight. Precision and firepower and a lot of competitive banter

I also like the Easter egg of the elevator music in Mass Effect 2 with Miranda's loyalty mission

@@quinnN7 I'm not sure if it was bugged or not, but in the original version of ME2 on PC the "loading" screens were just movie files that didn't cut short when loading completed. Mods actually exist on PC to replace the movie files with shorter versions and it literally cuts "load time" by about 70%

Everyone in Mass Effect 1 was extremely based. Garrus openly debated whether or not the genophage really was a 'bad thing'.

Seriously ME3 deserves to be shit on in many respects but one area where it is KING of Mass Effect is the out of action party banter. The most fun I had in ME3 was hearing Wrex chatting with Liara and Garrus over comms, walking into the rec room and seeing Liara reminiscing with Garrus. Even characters I didnt like that much too: one of my favourite moments for Javik and Vega was them talking random shit in the mess hall. Mass Effect 2 didnt have a team, it had quest objectives and quest givers. You either recruited them or did their mission and their interaction on the ship was nonexistant. Kinda stupid for a game that sold itself on "building the team".

I miss being able to equip your squadmates in various armors. ME1 is the only game in the franchise that you can do that. It annoyed me being a toxic planet in ME2/ME3, Shepard's all suited up, and Miranda/Jack/Jacob/Samara/Thane etc. are in leather with breather mask. Especially Jack, how is tha breather mask going to project your exposed skin and eyes.....

Having played ME2 twice, I could see it was a bit different to the other two, and that there was a connection between ME1 & ME3; prominence of blue colour, weapon mods, visual style. Maybe some people from ME1 were brought back or maybe it's just in my head.

@@elumiomerk4013 You are experience is the more common one. Most ME fans played ME2 first. I'm curious how you felt bout the ME2 cast's treatment in ME3. I personally thought they got the shaft. Same goes for the Virmire survivor. I've been trying to get through ME3 again. It's taking me longer than my recent ME1 and ME2 playthroughs combined. I forgot little dialog Ashley and Kaiden get. Despite being in the squad, they don't get treated much better than the ME2 cast.

@@TheGamerThing Except that isn't the case. The ME2 cast got the shaft because of EA giving Bioware such a short time to complete the game. They only had 18 months to finish the game originally. They had to beg EA for additional five months they got. You can see hints of this in Jack's redesign which has mounts for weaponry. She was originally going to be full squad mate. EDI and James were to be the stand in squadmates for players that got their squad killed. You can also see it in the during the End Game. Which, in addition to be compressed, was filled with reused assets. Its also why the game has so many side missions constructed out of the multiplayer maps.

For everyone asking about Wrex's armour; It's available in ME1, you can buy it or find it in a locker during a mission. You have to have fully leveled up and the only way to fully level up is to play through a second time and get every single XP point possible which means checking every unlockable crate and locker on every map, it's not so bad, you get shit-loads of useable upgrades and you can make a lot of credits selling what you don't need.

Ya gotta love Wrex. -I actually liked how Andromeda kinda brought these back in the form of the vehicle conversations.

I actually liked Elevator Chatter. As long as it wasn't followed by 5 minutes of awkward silence while game was loading. If it was just enter elevator, chatter, exit elevator it was noce immersion.

That's geth-made armor worn by Saren's krogan clone minions. Since Wrex has the same character model as those mobs, it was possible to give him that armor with the console.

Wrex's armor is a really rare drop in Mass Effect 1. I've only ever gotten it once in 5 or 6 different playthroughs. As for Shepard's outfit in ME3, I think he's using a mod for the Intiative Armor set from Andromeda.

the armor he is wearing in the beginning is an armor from mass effect andromeda. The andromeda initiate armor. Its not in mass effect 3. And can only be acquired in mass effect 3 by modding the game. If you are currently playing the original mass effect 3 on pc. You can get the armor by downloading the mod from nexusmods.com mass effect 3 page. It wont work with mass effect legendary edition btw. the armor wrex is wearing is in mass effect 1 game but only obtainable through consol commands. The armor is called Rage. Like i said its only obtainable through console commands.
